    Finally found a video on what I was looking for, every TH-camr who reviewed this laptop was obsessed with just content creator's perspective, but I think software development is real use case of this machine

    Duuude! You're such an artist! The room design, the video, the editing, the shooting, the scripting, the 2 real reviews of the TH-camrs etc... Such a wholesome video to watch!

    Being a software developer, I got the Mac Book Pro M1 16in for almost a year mostly cross platform and mobile development using MAUI. I got to say, it's worth the weight and extra battery life!

    I'm finding your videos after I took the plunge to upgrade from a 13" M1 Pro to the 14" but happy to see it's worked well for you and many others. It definitely looks a lot less sleek in comparison from various angles, but the screen is a great improvement and I'm looking forward to taking advantage of the additional power once I start docking it.

    Finally somebody makes a complete review of the ARM architecture machines for programmers (which I had to learn the hard way after getting one). It's quite a struggle to make work your usual dev environment depending on what you program and if you have to virtualize a lot with Docker, which was my case. I had to return my M1 and get a Dell XPS instead. Love your videos as usual💪

    Still loving my 16in MacBook Pro. I went to see it in the store and thought the 14in was too small. It might be because I was used to working on my desktop with large monitors so I felt I would miss the screen real estate when working on the laptop. I think if you can carry it with you in a backpack, it'll feel really good when you sit somewhere and get to work.

    • @gurugamer8632

    • @orwellmushaikwa2591
      @orwellmushaikwa2591 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@gurugamer8632 honestly don't get the "too big and heavy" argument for the 16in. Personally all through my college life and even at work I've been using 16in gaming laptops like the dell g5 and MSI laptops. Only recently moved to a MacBook and it's a breath of fresh air. Even some of the 15in laptops I've used in the past are bigger than it. Despite being 16in, it is definitely one of the sleekest if not the most sleek 16in laptops around. Sure it does weigh quite a bit in comparison to other macbooks but it's nothing compared to other laptops of a similar range in the market. I actually originally wanted to get the 14in, but due to lack of availability I ended up getting the 16in at a discount.

    I tried the MBP 14 keyboard in Best Buy, and being a nursing student that types a…lot… the keyboard feels so good I couldn’t describe it. It was just the perfect amount of click. The perfect amount of key travel. The perfect weight to the keys. The keys felt…buttery. Almost like typing on clouds that had some weird ass enchantment on them that made it feel so smooth and tactile. I’m currently saving to buy one, I’m in love haha

    @7:52 ‘…most tools are already supported by ARM’ - do you mean ‘most tools support arm’? Tools (software) are built to run on chipsets - not the other way round. You compile ‘tools’ to run on a target architecture. As a developer you know that right? That aside - your channel and content does genuinely rock. Your desk setups and visuals are top class. Nice work.

Though, I have never had issues with running docker, I run multiple containers most time to the point that some of the containers run for days, I will say the only issue I had was running android emulator which you spoke on, I just left it and use that on my windows laptop. Thanks for the wonderful description, Wonderful videos always.

      What mbp m1 pro configuration you have? Is it 16 GB one? I am a backend engineer (but sometime need to run frontend to test the application locally). And the dependencies are docker (db, grafana, Prometheus). Wondering if 16 GB is sufficient enough? I am considering to buy mbp m1 pro 16 GB for portability (work from anywhere use case). But i have home pc to work at home

    • @MrMegamsquare
      @MrMegamsquare ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@AgungPratama yes I’m using the 16GB m1 pro, I believe it should be enough for you to run your containers without issues, i run close to 3 microservices on my docker and at least one service contains postgress, rabbitmq, and the server itself, and most contains more than that. I’ve never had a down time except when I’m updating and it needs to restart. So it should be fine for your images or containers

      Doing any sort of serious development on an iPad is just not gonna happen. Have fun getting microservices running for a local dev env without a proper terminal, or running git without all sorts of issues.
