Scag all the way own a v ride 2 and a tiger cat 2 both are great mowers for the Ohio grass I mow will not knock any other company but appreciate my scags and the way they are built
Simplicity bought Ferris, Briggs bought Simplicity, Now Kps global bought the bankrupt Briggs. All this in 20 years. I believe Scag and Wright are only true independent mower manufacturers left.
The factory blades that came with it. I only use them, and during leaf clean-ups in the fall and spring I'll use the Oregon gator mulching blades. I've also messed around with the Scag hi lift blades, and they also work great!
@@turningoveranewleaflawncar952 i have the 61" deck on a snapper pro with the 37 vanguard. I have only used the blades that came with my mower. I was really curious about the scah hi lifts.
@@ronniegibson8577 they do work great however to spin those hi lifts you lose power and go through gas more. If you're ok with that then use them. I've heard some guys use 1 hi lift at their discharge side and regular blades on the other 2 spindles to help throw the grass clippings further. I never tried that yet.
The Scag hi lift blades are a beast of a blade. They are big and heavy. At $150 for a 3 set they definitely take care of lifting and cutting and tossing the clippings out from under your deck. Another plus to them is the bottom of your deck stays pretty clean from the force of the air.
The ferris is superior it has the oil guard vanguard engine. Scag only puts stripes down so well because it has 2 rollers on the backside of the deck stock
Ferris, because I’ve owned the scag V-Ride and didn’t like it. Scag cuts well, but it was terrible on hills, controls were jumpy, didn’t like the deck height selector position, and engine option was underpowered for a 61” deck. Love my Ferris Z2. Deck adjustment right at hand, speed bar adjuster, comfortable, great on hills, 28HP EFI with the oil guard system. And I don’t like scags cheesy tiger stripes, but that’s just me lol

@@turningoveranewleaflawncar952 That’s right! I’ve demoed exmark, toro, John Deere (for the heck of it), and kubota and always want to come back to the Ferris. Would be interested to try Wright and Hustler but they’re pricey.
@@JB.Olsen7 I've demoed a Wright and they sucked. The platform was very bouncey and it would clump up mowing early morning dew covered grass. My Ferris cuts great in both wet or dry grass. I thought since Wright was one of the first stand on mowers that it would be awesome. It looks like an awesome machine talking about the Wright ZK. With dual gas tanks on each side of you. I wouldn't buy one.

Does the Ferris have a stripe kit on it.
Yes, the rubber flap stripe kit mounted behind the deck.
Personal preference. They both are good but Scags color sold me.

Thanks for the comment. I was torn between a Vride or Z3X. I live in Tennessee so I’ll definitely get the Farris
