I met the love of my life and my partner of 10 years at a Green Day concert during the trilogy tour. We're both huge fans and bonded over our love for the band. He moved countries right before the show, so the only reason we met was because the tour got rescheduled. If Billie hadn't gone to rehab I would be a completely different person with a different life. I think about that a lot. When you take the time to heal and care for yourself, you make the world a better place. The ripples of positive change impact others in a million different ways you'd never expect.
Everytime I hear Billie talking about this I just wanna hug him and say to him that the Trilogy doesn't suck. I actually love it so much. I listen to most of it everyday, it's part of my life. Yes, the production is not the best but the material is mostly great. I think the whole thing changed him in a big way and I feel like he's a little bit scared of being ambitious as he was when he wrote American Idiot or 21st Century Breakdown. If you read what he said about writting 21 Guns and the whole album in general I think I'm right about this.
Anyone who likes Green Day knows the Trilogy fucking rocks. It might not be a huge commercial success, but Green Day were all multi-millionaires already so who really gives half a fuck? The trilogy has some truly great shit on it, with that classic Green Day 'ring' to it and that familiar rock 'n' roll feel that we've all grown to know and love. It's good listening, and good rockin'. People complain about it because bitches gotta bitch--that's what bitches do.
I don’t think he’s scared of being ambitious, I think he’s just tired. He talks about how he finds it hard to listen to 21st CB because it reminds him of how much hard work they put into it. I think Green Day’s at a point in their lives where they just want to have fun and not worry so much about being as ambitious as they were in their heyday.

It's good stuff! I'm glad they released it, and like many others I don't think the middle album Dos is all that good because the songs are just too middle-of-the-road for what we all know what Green Day is capable of. As a collection though, it has really good music on it!
Considering how great Forever Now turned out, I can't believe people make such a fuss over Still Breathing. Mind you, it's a decent song. It's like everyone making a giant fuss over Boulevard of Broken Dreams, or Wake Me Up from the album American Idiot. Both are half-decent tunes, but both are also pretty weak, lame songs compared to Jesus of Suburbia or Homecoming.

He can easily afford it, it's no big deal for him. Even if addiction treatment cost him, say, $100,000, that's still a relatively trivial amount of money for the band as a whole. They're all multimillionaires and none of them have to work for a living.

I've always enjoyed the trilogy, and I think it has a lot more personal weight and depth than most people give it credit for. I look at it as Bille Joe recording his midlife crisis for all of us to listen to. Lazy Bones is legitimately one of my favorite Green Day songs. Anyway, Billie means a lot to me and his music has helped me get through some tough times. If I'm ever lucky enough to meet him, I'm gonna make sure I thank him for that.
"Rise and Grind" doesn't apply to Green Day and hasn't in many years. All of the band members have been independently wealthy since they were in their 20s.

I quit smoking cigarettes for a few months about 15 years ago. I damn near shot a cop that was whining and moaning about my speed on the highway (I was going the same speed as everyone else.) So, quitting has more repercussions than it seems and absolutely nobody can help you with that. You just have to go through absolute living hell to withdraw from a chemical, and even for "mild" drugs like nicotine the sheer hell of it is absolutely beyond description. There's simply sweet fuck-all you can do about it. But thanks anyway :)
i can definitely understand. Whenever it happens that i'm writing a song, it's like a self-medicated therapy session and while it can be very healthy to look introspectively about a certain issue every once in a while, doing it to the point of exhaustion has to be devastating for one's psyche. For what it's worth, i really love the Trilogy, maybe they're not my favorite Green Day albums, but the quality and dedication is not lost on me and i hope they bring back a few songs if it's not too hard on Billie Joe.
Trilogy was amazing.. understandable why the IHeart incident happened, especially after hearing the events that led up to it.. IMO only, Billie has made sacrifices to his fans that (some) would never truly understand.. An amazing artist I feel is an understatement.. It goes beyond that.. and that's why I will always be a true fan.. Not a single song that I dislike.. I favor some over others but I love all the music Green Day Composes.. Side Projects and all.. I never had an interest in becoming a Guitarist/Singer until my childhood friend had me listen to "Dookie".. Forever changed my life.. I grabbed up the first 2 albums and every album since.. When Billie said "I'm not Justin Beiber mother f$%^&*." I felt that. No you're not Billie and even though he was struggling seeing him smash his guitar was so rock n roll. Glad to see him make it out of this time period but also the trilogy is wonderful.
Honestly, I love the Trilogy. There are some absolute bangers in it, some nice songs. I am very biased when it comes to Green Day, I admit, but I just love all of their songs. Like, starting from At the Library and ending at Graffitia (and of course, the two new songs). They're my favorite band, they're my band. I am confident that I can find something great in every single one of their songs.
UNO DOS TRE is one of my favorite Green Day era’s by far. It’s just down and dirty rock and roll songs. That’s it. Sure, it’s not an epic like AI or 21CBD, but that’s alright. We don’t need that every album.
I think not many people know that there's a whole documentary about the album, which was pretty fun. I think it was a pre-order bonus, but I don't know if it ever got an own release after that.

Ehhhh not really. I think if it were trimmed down to an album, maybe two, it'd be A LOT better. There are some absolute winners on those albums (Stay The Night, Brutal Love, 99 Revolutions, Nuclear Family, Lazy Bones), but it's also got a lot of filler and not so great songs either. Don't tell me Nightlife or Lady Cobra are some overlooked masterpieces because that's arguably the furthest thing from the truth.

Tre' is a freaking masterpiece! SO underrated! I've personally got it just below Dookie, American Idiot and Warning at #4 on my rankings! Uno is really good too! Dos is my least favorite of the three and just above Father Of All down at the bottom of my rankings but I respect it for what it was. Dos is great compared to FOAM, lol!
I'm hoping that some trilogy songs will make the cut for future club shows, at the very least. As time has gone on, it seems that more fans are looking back fondly on the trilogy (maybe bc FOAM did not meet expectations). Some of their, IMO, best songs are on those albums.
To put it in simple terms: people just didn´t get the trilogy. The majority of teens and tweens who listened to Green Day back in the day (2012) had no clue about dirty 60´s Rock´n Roll. The people who do have a clue and appreciate that kind of music don´t listen to Green Day because Greeen Day are "too young" for their generation as a band. If the Trilogy would have come out in the 60´s, it would have been a banger writing musical history racing to No. 1 on the charts for weeks. You wanna understand the trilogy? Get to a dirty, funky small club, get the DJ to play that stuff and get fuckin wasted. Have the time of your life that night, sober up the next fiew days, listen back to the Trilogy. You´ll love it.
Still think iheartradio were just as much in the wrong here - why would you tell one of the biggest bands a third of the way through one of their biggest hits 'oh you guys need to wrap it up'? If they had have given a signal before the song or after to wrap up that would have been more understandable, but right in the middle? 🤨
Uno and Tre are solid albums, much better than Father of All and in my opinion better than Rev Radio (as an album) to me, only half of that album is great, but the great songs on Rev Radio are fantastic. But Uno is better
The crowd was so awful and lame for that performance I have no idea why anyone blamed him for acting that way. Watch the entire set, He worked his ass off and got nothing in response from them. I 1000% would have acted the same way if I performed for 30 minutes to such an awful audience then they cut my set short for usher.

Ehhhh not really. I think if it were trimmed down to an album, maybe two, it'd be A LOT better. There are some absolute winners on those albums (Stay The Night, Brutal Love, 99 Revolutions, Nuclear Family, Lazy Bones), but it's also got a lot of filler and not so great songs either.
Don't tell me Nightlife or Lady Cobra are some overlooked masterpieces because that's arguably the furthest thing from the truth.

He wasn't in a good frame of mind when making those albums it straight up wasn't a good idea.
It needs to be rerecorded with different production.. that's my only gripe with it. Alot of great songs
Dos and tre have some hidden gems in em, but uno doesnt have a single bad Song imo, simple but powerful album

Tre' is a freaking masterpiece! SO underrated! I've personally got it just below Dookie, American Idiot and Warning at #4 on my rankings! Uno is really good too! Dos is my least favorite of the three and just above Father Of All down at the bottom of my rankings but I respect it for what it was. Dos is great compared to FOAM, lol!

I'm hoping that some trilogy songs will make the cut for future club shows, at the very least. As time has gone on, it seems that more fans are looking back fondly on the trilogy (maybe bc FOAM did not meet expectations). Some of their, IMO, best songs are on those albums.

To put it in simple terms: people just didn´t get the trilogy. The majority of teens and tweens who listened to Green Day back in the day (2012) had no clue about dirty 60´s Rock´n Roll. The people who do have a clue and appreciate that kind of music don´t listen to Green Day because Greeen Day are "too young" for their generation as a band. If the Trilogy would have come out in the 60´s, it would have been a banger writing musical history racing to No. 1 on the charts for weeks.
You wanna understand the trilogy? Get to a dirty, funky small club, get the DJ to play that stuff and get fuckin wasted. Have the time of your life that night, sober up the next fiew days, listen back to the Trilogy. You´ll love it.

Still think iheartradio were just as much in the wrong here - why would you tell one of the biggest bands a third of the way through one of their biggest hits 'oh you guys need to wrap it up'? If they had have given a signal before the song or after to wrap up that would have been more understandable, but right in the middle? 🤨

Uno and Tre are solid albums, much better than Father of All and in my opinion better than Rev Radio (as an album) to me, only half of that album is great, but the great songs on Rev Radio are fantastic. But Uno is better
Dos is clear.
The crowd was so awful and lame for that performance I have no idea why anyone blamed him for acting that way. Watch the entire set, He worked his ass off and got nothing in response from them. I 1000% would have acted the same way if I performed for 30 minutes to such an awful audience then they cut my set short for usher.
