This is pretty awesome. People need to understand that Billie Joe doesn’t really like doing interviews. He gets shy, and is a little awkward. Which is the opposite of Billie Eilish who doesn’t a give a fuck and has a very out going personality. So for him to sit down this long and talk as much as he did - is a big deal. He must really like her and respect her as a musician. Green Day are legends regardless how you feel about them now. Just consider they were in the same school system as all of us were in the 80s and 90s and get they decided to pursue their dreams and buck the expectations put on most of us. And despite all the drug addiction and mental health issues, Billie Joe is still kicking strong. Still made a life for himself.

I ran into BJ Armstrong once at the Oakland Int'l Airport on a Saturday night. Hardly anyone was in the terminal. He was just the coolest dude. We chatted about our love of flying on Saturday nights (it's uncrowded)...nothing beats coming back to the Bay Area...coming back to our families, etc. There were probably 25 or so other people in our general area--and NO ONE knew who he was. They just walked right by us two. I could tell he really like this.

My chemical romance. It’s a rock band from the early 2000s and they are really good. The creator of the umbrella academy made them after seeing 9/11. Gerard Way is the lead singer, Mikey Way is the bassist, Frank Iero is the rhythm guitarist, and Ray Toro is the lead guitarist. I would check them out. They have four albums and they are all amazing, I haven’t listened to one song by them that I didn’t like. I would recommend listening to Mama, the ghost of you, the Jetset life is gonna kill you (listen to the ghost of you and Jetset back to back trust me they lead into each other), thank you for the venom, and you know what they do to guys like us in prison.

But she just comes from a family of morals and the freedom of expression, instead of being taught in a school were you have to be a certain way, she was taught to just walk her own path and enjoy what she loves to do, and there are no limits, which is what a true artist does. Even skrillex said the same thing, he was saying stuff like "everybody thinks there's a special method to making music, which there isn't, its just make music that you love, theres no right or wrong way to do it, there shouldnt be limitations, that the beauty of art, you can make it however the fuck you want, art is the truest form of freedom." I think people who love billie are over looking her to be this god, and don't get me wrong, her and her brother make beautiful art, but the best thing about her, is really that she's like you and me, going through the same shit, deal with pain and struggle, and people fucking love that, because it feels like they have a friend, and were all in this together, and anybody can make the art they love, and be with the people they love, like a family, which in my opinion is how music should be, authentic, not corporate (at least not too much, you gotta have money to fund you shows) and make the world a better place with the power you have in your hands, she is a good person, and I think she is going to influence a new generation of people that will make real music and not some fake plastic crap.
Been a Green Day fan since I was five years old. Am 19 now and still loving their music. Finally saw them live two years ago and it was one of the best experiences of my life. I'm in university now majoring in music and Green Day were my first real music heroes. Love you guys to the end and really appreciate Billie's input, seems super genuine.

Gerard Way is the lead singer, Mikey Way is the bassist, Frank Iero is the rhythm guitarist, and Ray Toro is the lead guitarist. I would check them out. They have four albums and they are all amazing, I haven’t listened to one song by them that I didn’t like. I would recommend listening to Mama, the ghost of you, the Jetset life is gonna kill you (listen to the ghost of you and Jetset back to back trust me they lead into each other), thank you for the venom, and you know what they do to guys like us in prison.

People want something that shows anything is possible, she is the definition of the american dream, (somebody who came from nothing, always wanted to be on the stage, and then makes it, and makes it well without breaking under pressure, wich usually never happens, ever). The same thing happend in the 90s, in the 80s it was mostly party music (except for the thrash guys, but that was still kind of underground) There's always a trend every decade or so, there's the party music were everybody is getting fucked up and then theres the come down, wich is were all the dark and real music comes in. She came in at the right time, the people needed her. But she just comes from a family of morals and the freedom of expression, instead of being taught in a school were you have to be a certain way, she was taught to just walk her own path and enjoy what she loves to do, and there are no limits, which is what a true artist does. Even skrillex said the same thing, he was saying stuff like "everybody thinks there's a special method to making music, which there isn't, its just make music that you love, theres no right or wrong way to do it, there shouldnt be limitations, that the beauty of art, you can make it however the fuck you want, art is the truest form of freedom." I think people who love billie are over looking her to be this god, and don't get me wrong, her and her brother make beautiful art, but the best thing about her, is really that she's like you and me, going through the same shit, deal with pain and struggle, and people fucking love that, because it feels like they have a friend, and were all in this together, and anybody can make the art they love, and be with the people they love, like a family, which in my opinion is how music should be, authentic, not corporate (at least not too much, you gotta have money to fund you shows) and make the world a better place with the power you have in your hands, she is a good person, and I think she is going to influence a new generation of people that will make real music and not some fake plastic crap.

Been a Green Day fan since I was five years old. Am 19 now and still loving their music. Finally saw them live two years ago and it was one of the best experiences of my life. I'm in university now majoring in music and Green Day were my first real music heroes. Love you guys to the end and really appreciate Billie's input, seems super genuine.
