  • This is what it's like as a Black man walking 10 hours in China.
Living outside your home country isn't quite easy, but living in China is a little different. And especially that my skin color is different, I get a lot of reaction from Chinese on a daily basis.
This is Day 5 of my 10 hours of walking in China challenge.

Never heard of people using urine to boil eggs in China. 🤣
I’ve lived and visited there for a few years as well. To my knowledge, unless you bump into someone / some place quite strange or messed up (really outside of the norm) no one does that. 99.99% of the places and people I’ve met in China would think that, that’s disgusting as well.
Water isn’t scarce in China, so if there’s any truth in that statement (which I don’t think is true at all), then it’s very few and very far in between that you’d find something like that. Maybe in a rare remote village in one region where they still think it serves some medicinal purpose. But I highly doubt it.
Salted eggs, tea eggs, duck eggs, and quail eggs are quite common tho. If you eat anything that has a sour, ammonia or sulfur taste, it’s probably just a bad / rotten egg.

Good one brother, but, u are no "person of colour" POC, u are African. POC is a collective term used to include Chinese also. Would imply that u blend with them, u don't, most of the script is being acted out after your passage: the curious stare, expressions, curiosity but pretending not to.
Your camera angles are good, the way u penetrated due to overcoming language barriers, reminds me of the early days of Wode Maya's early days. Curiosity is markedly pronounced from elder Chinese, the young cares less.
Clearly there is an imbalance in both our populations living in each other's countries. They have penetrated ours and become a fixture; we, still a curiosity in their mostly homogenous country.
Looking forward to more of your encounters

This channel is a gem. China from some of the things I see they do to black people like with the black going into the washer and coming out asian. I've grown to really dislike them. But, channels like this can curb the hatred. China seems to have some pretty nice and sweet people there. They glow when they see someone that can speak the same language. I was really good to see. Made me smile.

Unlike people from other countries who live in diverse environment. Average Chinese people are not sensitive over racism topics. A lot of Chinese people would never think that ad is racism but a “creative” idea(that washing machine is so good at washing clothes it can even bleach your skin). That doesn’t necessarily mean they are racists.

    • @ryanzhang701
      @ryanzhang701 ปีที่แล้ว

Just please don’t judge something because you saw it online… People are just people, it’s the same everywhere. There are racist and discriminative people everywhere, which doesn’t mean every Chinese is like that. As long as you’re doing things legally, foreigners are welcomed in China.

The irony is, you call yourself a Chinese Australian, which is fine... and then this guy in the video calls himself a 外国人 within the first minute. This is where Chinese people have the advantage-they retain their strong sense of identity. Fawning non-Chinese refer to themselves as 外国人, which you didn't do, essentially saying that they don't belong and are a stateless people. I'm a white Australian myself and have been called a "外国人/老外/洋人/foreigner" here by Chinse people multiple times. I note you were enthusiastic about what the guy in the video is doing. Of course you are. It suits you just fine, and the nuances that I point out, you certainly haven't pointed out.

in fact is the same background for Jewish community (goy) and Muslim community (kaffir, but it sound very bad and spreading a dangerous ideology).
Black can discriminated other and white do the same even for mixed persons.
Chinese in general afraid other Asian , they keep far away from the unknowns.
Not easy to sympathize but they are a good example , a successful integration in Australia and America.

They are just curious. You can't see different race in China every day except in some major cities. For those elders, it might be their first time during whole life. It's a country just starts to open 30 years ago, and China is huge. It's a situation that you're more like a celebrity rather than those Asians are stared, beaten and shot at in the U.S. and UK.
