Loved it.. I'm really in love with your Red golf with the vr6 swap.. I have that playlist saved for when I can afford to do that swap in my mk2 Jetta gl..
Awesome work man, you made it look so easy, I wished I would have seen this video before, I would have gone with the 1.8T instead of the 2.0 ABA swap on my mk2 gti. I still thinking about. Keep up the great work.
Well done! Just got back into the mk2 world with my 17 year old son. We just picked up a unmolelested 89 jetta with 150,000 original km on it. Contemplating the 1.8t route as 16v are hard to come by these days
If you are from US I consider swapping a 07k 2.5 from mk5 rabbit/Jetta/passat they are pretty cheap, reliable and sound awesome. Fabless manufacturing produces complete swap kit that contains engine mounts and other required stuff
@@thescalefactorypl9932 funny you mentioned the 2.5 as i have one sitting on my property. We did end up finding a 91 GTX 16v donor with full recaro interior in good shape, g60 11” brakes and rear disc swap. The body is to far gone to save but everything else is in good shape
Very nice build mate, There's just something about the mk2 Golf (3door), i like the shape and front end of it. Literally my dream too build one from the ground up , throwing a 1.8t in it. I currently own a Seat Leon mk1 Cupra R which i've owned for 3 years. My next project will definitely be a mk2 golf! ....Subbed mate!
man jokes a side that's a cool car but the thing i like most about that car is the steering wheel it's just the same steering wheel in my dads old mk2 golf it's just reminds with the good times i got in taht car that's why one of my best cars is the mk2 golf
Hi man, love your video, can you tell me what else do I need to change if I want to put 1.8t on my mk2, i know that if I leave everything like it is and only change the engine and gearbox I will probbaly break everything 😂, cant tell what did you did to yours.
This is a very clean build. I am about to buy a Mk2 Golf and the only thing currently I see if that the actually hatchback has rust on it. Do you(or anyone) know where I can find one?
I think abf is such a classic swap and engine. Drives well. Handles well. Enough hp for daily use. Drive a mk1 abf myself. More than pleased with it. Wouldn't change it for anything.
hey man awsome vids i wonder if you could help me out i just bought a mk4 jetta 1.8t for my first car i would like to have the car at around 300WHP reliably could you help me out on what i should buy strengthen or change?
I’ve enjoyed watching these videos while deployed. Thank you.

GTI MK2 always forever legend
I Love the look of this MK2. Nice work!
Amazes me how you do this all by your self. Damn.

My mk2 has a 2.0l Aba swap done but I’m gonna be goin to a 1.8l 20v

I have a 88’ with a 16v but I just blew it up today, debating on a rebuild or a swap

Such a good looking car!!!
Great job 👏👍👌

Great job, how many hours did it take in real time?
Is the agg 8v from a mk3 a good engine to start with or is the mk2 1.8 8v better what your thoughts thanks
Cooles projekt , mach weiter soo
So it’s mostly wiring? Besides obvious stuff like motor mounts and stuff.
How much can a engine swap cost to have an engineer do it for you?

Keep checking picknpulls. Or look on facebook market place
Hi Jake, can I mount the front frame complete with arms and hubs of a golf mk3 gti (2.0 16v abf) on my golf mk2?
Ciao mi puoi spiegare per il cablaggio che va all abitacolo cosa c'è da adattare
What car is the 1.8 turbo engine from?
nice...know where i can get a oem front fender flare?
Why is the rear subframe removed? Because it’s more narrow, Can I keep my mk2 subframe so I can run wide wheels in the rear?
You talking about the rear beam?
You don't replace that
God dammit Jake! XD
Now instead of an ABF swap I'm thinking of an BAM engine swap :/
Go abf.
Why?
@@NoDautMK1 Can't find an ABF 😕

do you know if a strut bridge in the engine bay fits, from a normal gti, with this swap?
it fits. also fits in corrado
