I think that part of the resonance of this for Dimash is not that he has felt a loss like the little boy but rather he feels so blessed by the love and support of the family that he is able to project the pain and anguish he feel if he lost that.

The concert was in Astana/Kazakhstan. "Bastau" is a name of it and means "Beginning". His recent concert in Astana was called "Arnau" which means " Dedication" or " Tribute".

Dear Regina & Sabrina, thank you so much for watching the story & performance with subtitles first. It is the only place for people to understand the true reason for the song & the trouble Dimash had just before the performance. After watching story & words for this song & Autumn Strong, every time since that he performs either song as a woman I can't stop crying. It is so sad that some reactors get convinced to ONLY react to the Bastau version & don't know the story or the words and a lot of them only smile proving they don't understand. I’m also glad your family is safe,please keep reacting to the Behind Scenes of other Dimash song, I don’t think there is in my opinion a bad performance by Dimash,some other may telling to skip certain songs from the Singer but I’ll advise not he will always surprises you, he more than high notes,incredible lyrics,he also an entertainer in some songs he such wanted people to see another side of him,to dance ,songs like uptown funk ,a lot people said it one his weakest performance he didn’t sing some many high notes but people dance,other song even better and more recent is Give your Love (Dimash Original,he show some dance moves in the one)he definitely enjoy it Please all Dimash,Enjoy the journey.

The 1st time i watched this song with background story, i could not stop crying too. As mentioned by someone who saw Dimash at the backstage of The Singer, he was seen grabbing his throat in pain after the performance and knowing that makes me admire/respect him even more😊DKIFC/SG

Thanks for the reaction, when I first heard this there weren't the English subs, but you just knew what the story he was telling. His ability to convey the emotion of a song is what sets Dimash head and shoulders above everyone else.

Bastau means Beginning in Kazakh - it was his first big solo concert in his homeland - a childhood dream come true. You should see him singing Daididau at Bastau - it's a traditional Kazakh song and the emotions really caught up with him during that one, he was fighting with tears by the end. You will love it girls.
The competitor who hugs Dimash at 4:10 is Jason Zhang. He has one of the best voices in China with several interesting performances from Singer 2017.

For the same reason, if you do Ep.7 "Daididau" you should use Gloria Wu's version. There is a story to that one too. Also, it would be ideal if you could combine "Confessa + The Diva Dance" Ep.12 on Singer 2017 with the Bastau version of "The Diva Dance". (Someone else did it recently). "The Diva Dance" is the impossible song sung by the blue alien diva in the movie "The Fifth Element", but since it's so short, they paired it with another song on the Singer. He left out a difficult run in the Singer version, which he did at Bastau. But next is Ep.9 "All By Myself" and there's no reason to skip that one. I gave you a longer version of this behind the scenes at the Singer video in the Dimash interview comment section. It has a longer Jackie Chan part :

Great Reaction!! Gloria Wu is a very good channel, it provieds many behind stories of Dimash's performances. We can see Dimash is a very strong willpower person also a professional singer. Daybreak was better in Bastau concert but this one in Singer was also good even though he was struggling to reach some high notes.It's risky to a young singer to take injection, esp for Dimash, his voice is everything. He is a workholic . I hope he can take himself well and don't push himself too much. We all want to see him stay healthy and sing for us fot a long, long time.

Dimash ainda estava doente na primeira apresentação, apesar das 5 injeções de cortisona, aplicadas diretamente em suas cordas vocais, ainda não estava recuperado, tanto que logo após a apresentação, ficou novamente sem voz. Mas fez uma belíssima apresentação!!

This is a beautiful song and a touching performance by Dimash. I highly recommend at some point you react to Han Hong's version from earlier season of "Singer". There is a special poignancy because of her generosity in adopting the young orphan. And it is also a marvelous performance.

There is something mysterious about dimash , he hv an enchanted voice , something about it that u feels like never enough of him singing . Once u know dimash and his music its hard to pull back , u will see music in a whole different color than one that is known to u . Of course catchy music will automatically tap ur feet to dance but after sometimes its faded on its own as another catchy music produced n u shift to that . But with dimash , ull never get enough with his voice n his song , i listen to em all the time n still experience those goosebum from head to toe everytime .

I find the daybreak from the Singer to be haunting and from Bastau to be emotional yet strong. I loved them both for different reasons they always make me tear up and often cry. Reminds me of my mother. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and reactions with us. 😊
i believe what he did at singer in that performance really hurt him. like when he went backstage he was in a lot of pain.
He said he felt like he had broken glass in his throat when he sang this. Amazing he pulled it off. After this performance his voice totally gave out, it was so important to him to try his best to do this emotional song justice. Don't feel bad most who understood the background of this cried, I did myself as a man.
I cry every time I hear this and gosh, your story made me cry even more, then in happiness to hear your daughter is fine. Ah life is so fragile. Dimash's words about being content resonate deeply with me. Most of us don't ask for much. Health for us and our loved ones, small things that make us happy and life is good. nice reaction ladies..."Bastau" is the name of the concert....Bastau means "beginning" in kazak....the name was chosen because this was the first solo concert given by Dimash and it was held in Astana, Kz right after he ends his participation in Im Singer...There is another behind the scenes clip that shows the other contestants giving Dimash chinesse remedies to aliviate his pain, more than competitors all singers had a great respect for each other....keep the good work

This is a great singer. Greetings from St. Petersburg - Russia. (But he is two times younger than me) His mother Svetlana speaks excellent Russian, like her son. But he chose Islam, it is his choice. Father influenced him more.I respect his choice, because I am an Orthodox Christian.
