We finally have a house. I'm so excited to be here in texas and i cant wait to get my house feeling like home.

We lived in Pershing Park. I hated the floors im sure you will too. Our livingroom was 2 times bigger but for some reason I thought all the houses were the same also our back yard was massive. But we never went out on warm days cause we were there during the year long drought. 110 degrees plus. It was horrible, mostly cause I'm not not a heat person. . I miss the military life but at the same time I'm so happy he's out. 8 years served 🥰 thank you guys for your husband's service. ❣

I was stationed at Ft Hood 03-06 and I lived in Liberty Village off from clear creek rd.
My family and I live on post at Fort Hood also.
I’m also in Pershing park very spacious!

in the 70s the yards were only half that size and we had to fence it off ourselves

love the tour. Is Fort hood a safe duty station? how are you liking there so far? we will be moving there in 2021 may, so curious.
It’s okay, I feel safe in my neighborhood. Definitely not my favorite place to be and if it were up to me I definitely wouldn’t choose fort hood as a place I’d want to live.
Was your home also described as "duplex style"? Im so done with apartments and got a little worried when I saw that I might be connected to somebody in Pershing park 😅

If your trying to live on post try getting montague or comanche 2 or 3. As for off post I recommend looking in harker heights or copperas cove

It’s an okay community. Definitely one of the older ones and it’s off post. I wanted something on post for security reasons but the wait was too long. I heard a lot of bad things about break ins and suspicious stuff in off post housing but honestly I feel pretty safe in my house
Allison Giamanco true! I was maybe living off post would be cheaper in a sense but all the commodities that come with on post is better
We were offered a house there today ! Now that you’ve been there a few months, how do you like it ?
It’s okay....the neighborhood isn’t the best because they don’t check IDs 24/7 so anyone can come in if MPs aren’t at the gate. I’ve heard of lots of break in attempts and suspicious stuff happening but we haven’t had anything happen to us *knock on wood*
Whats the pet policy while living on base?
Max of two pets and your not allowed to have aggressive breeds such as pit bulls, wolf hybrids...but no one really listens to the rules. But if you get caught you’ll probably get kicked out of military housing
What neighborhood is this? I'm asking because this is our past and we were just assigned to chaffee

Getting married soon... my future husband is stationed there....I have lots of questions is there a long waiting list to get a house on base there?
The wait for each community is different and also depends on the time of year. We have what we call PCS season when tons of people are leaving and relocating. We moved here in February last year and the wait for our house was originally 1 month but it changed to being able to get a house the next day.

Double deadbolts on the front door?
All our doors have double deadbolts. A few of my friends in the neighborhood only have one so it just depends I guess but not all have double
Fort Hood Housing is a dump! They've built some new housing by the EastGate, but otherwise, it's pretty outdated.

Be careful there, it's a dark place.
It is crazy how much happens here and I never heard of anything about fort hood till we moved here...obviously not our choice to live here but still going to try to make the best of it till we can move elsewhere

@@allaboutthebrowns2016 so far we’ve only been here at fort hood and in hawaii on the marine corps base and I’d have to say hawaii was my favorite
