Great news, Simon! It has been my routine to check your video daily for Canon news. I came back from a 2 weeks Europe tour with my R5 and love the images and videos captured with it. My life will continue to be happy with what I have. But watching your videos get me excited about the upcoming R5 Mark ii. Viewers Advice- watching Simon’s video will cause Gears Aquisition Syndrome 😂

As an amateur wildlife photographer, I am ready to buy either the Canon R5II or the Canon R1, but I am waiting to learn about all the specifications of these two cameras in detail before making my choice. With all the fuss about potential specifications, I'm so distracted that I almost forget to take off the lens cap before shooting! For now, my Canon R5 perfectly meets all my needs.

Just went to the camera shop today, put my name in for the R5MII. I was told they are expecting to receive delivery “soon”
Here in Spain they told me yesterday they don’t spect anything until September October and they are a big canon distributor in my country.

Doing a Google image search I've discovered the camera strap is for a 7D so don't get too excited about the camera body in the photo. Also the camera EXIF details from the image itself are missing, so it could well be the significant factor in the image.

When I saw this CanonUSA X post last night I had zoomed in on the cameras in the photo and noted no text was legible as well. Definitely got my hopes up.

Canon sent fro knows photo a bunch of gear, it's to be donated to schools and businesses in need. Its caled fund a photographer I think thats the announcement. You all are going to be heavily disappointed next week lol

Yeah, and on the Ryan Foundation IG page the strap isn’t edited out. It’s an old 7D so I guarantee that’s the announcement, donating old gear or something to the Ryan Foundation. Meanwhile OF and everyone else thinks it’s an R5 II in a child’s hands…All of this misinformation and hype lately is really going to piss people off

Sounds like a big announcement, for sure. I cannot see Canon introducing multiple full frame bodies without also introducing multiple full frame lenses as well.

I had put my name on a list at my camera store several months ago and followed up last week. He accidentally used the words “when both links go live“ when talking about the R5 Markii. If he would’ve said links I would have assumed he just meant different packages, but when he said both links I tried to press him for more information but he acted ignorant. I sure hope it’s a hint that we may have one video centric and one photo centric R5 mark ii. I’m still holding out hope for a 60 mega pixel photo centric “canon anything”

Very little got leaked. Canon tends to provide different embargo dates to different people. Helps them know where the leaks come from.
we prefer short and sweet update like this. other than dragging the video to too long.

Considering there is a post with original strap that says 7D someone posted it on canon rumours topic about the teaser, so it is probably just a non Canon lens and they removed the info cause Canon will never promote third party glass. Just weird decision they went with this photo. Or they are using a 7D strap as a distraction.
It's a day later in Japan. Is "next week" this coming week? Or the week after? If Japan starts the week on Sunday, "next week" would still be the 13th.

We could get a lens announcement this week and the camera another week. If all we get is a product announcement this week and it's not the R5 mark two, they'd be daft if they don't at least tease about it. I am subscribed to them.

For sure this company is no longer my favourite camera company, although I still like their cameras a great deal. It’s not just a random birthday party. It’s the Ryan Seacrest Foundation who help pediatric patients be creative in the RTF world. Note the kid has a bandage on his arm…guarantee this is just canon’s way of saying we’re donating gear to the foundation or something
