Rod Sutphin is one stand up guy, zero complaints with anything from him. If anyone is still on the fence after this video. Go ahead and pull the trigger, you will not be disappointed!
My best feedback for Sutphin trans tune is, it feels just as fast as stage 3 if not better. But it does it much smoother which for me tells me it's safer imo.
My favorite trans tune is a manual! But this is pretty cool what these timers can do with this new technology

Great video! From the email Rod sent along with the tune file, it looks like he want's you to upgrade the trans fluid if using Drag Mode, at least that's how I read it. I also went with the "Daily Driver-Part Time Hotrodder" setup:
"If using Drag Mode Please upgrade your transmission/Gearbox fluid to Adrenaline ATF SS racing fluid or Amsoil TQ drive, if you live in a Euro area use Motual ATF VI. These upgraded Fluids will protect the clutches from the high HP/TQ of Wide Open Throttle Pulls."

I've recently gotten the Sutphin custom trans tune (rev46) and I've been running it for awhile (100+ miles now). Overall I think it really improves the shifts over stage 3 but I noticed my throttle response was a tad bit different from what it was on XHP stage 3. But that may be due to me being on the race map and not the hotrodder map. I'm also located in Socal so I experience a lot more stop and go traffic and streets than other people in the US (other than NY folks). The upshifts are incredibly fast on the custom tune and it is definitely worth it

Even if your boost is tapering, even if you HORSEPOWER is tapering, it's still usually best to shift near redline. The lower gears gives more mechanical advantage, so faster accell, even if you're above the power band.

I dont know if you can help but im a little frustrated with my build. I have watched a few of your videos about this but still having issues. S58 running flex fuel at around 700 HP. It had downpipes and BMS intakes. On low gears under maybe 30% throttle the car hesitates or bogs down. Driving normally is fine but when i open it up it does that. Also, on drive logic 3 i got the up shifts nice but it hits a little hard on the down. Not sure what settings i can play with to fix this. The hesitation on the up is my biggest issue.

Thanks for another great video! BTW, I finally got the O2 sensor rich/lean codes fixed on my 2018 M240i X with an MHD stage II tune. It turns out that the O2 sensors were not the culprits. Although the
V-clamp appeared to be properly installed, there was a slight exhaust leak at the catted downpipe - turbo connection. Now that its fixed, and my car is running smoothly again, I'll go with your recommendation. Its is a daily driver and I don't track it, so am I correct in assuming Sutphin's "part time hotrodder" map is the way to go?
Glad you got it sorted. The map is really just up to your preferences. I got mine done before he added the names, but mine is not aggressive at all. Works great for my needs and daily driving.

Great info. I'm seriously considering a custom tune myself. My main complaint is the gearbox racing to 8th gear when steadily cruising in D (comfort). Out of interest when gently taking off and cruising in D (comfort) where does the RPM land when the gearbox shifts? Around 1,500rpm? I reckon this would be great as it's right at the start of the torque band
Probably around there. The shift point is very much dependent on pedal position

I actually got mine before he set that up, but it's on the more conservative side. No excessive lips are hard shifts. Just crisp smooth performance.
And yes i got 2 revisions and 1 test map

Do you drive in comfort mode most of the time? Is there a need to switch modes if you have this custom tune?
does the custom tune have access to mapping that is not in the user settings, or does the tune just dial in what is in the custom settings?
Yes he has access to both
The custom user settings are just a few tables. There are 800 to 1000 main tables that can be adjusted. There are many more tables than that, but not every table needs to be changed.

They should be largely similar but if you reference the part number then that will confirm you're buying the right part. 2 gallons should be more than enough

Hi mate. I’m looking on getting MHD on my M140 Manuel. Is it worth getting ? Does the anti lag make a difference?
If you want more power and the features it comes with then yes it's worth it. I don't really use antilag but the no lift shift definitely makes a difference
If I mostly use Manual shifting, does it improve anything?

He can make them harder. For me it made shifts more snappy, like the buttons are more responsive. He also disabled the kickdown in manual mode while keeping it available in D. Lot's of cool ways to configure everything.
Does a trans tune eliminate the fart sound between shifts?
It can if you want it to. my car has no drama on shifts. if you listen to my car in the flex fuel tune video i had the custom tune on at the time.
I currently have a stage 1 mhd tune on my ‘18 440ixdrive and have a catless downpipe coming in. I am planning on flashing the xhp tune after I install the dp and go stage 2, what order do I need to do this in? I don’t want to fry the ECU by stacking two different tunes on there, do I have to untune the mhd and flash the xhp first then upload the stage 2? Let me know if anyone has any answers Thanks.
They are completely separate tunes on completely separate modules. The order you flash doesn't matter and they don't affect each other.

It's not necessary but it does improve the experience

No real need. I flashed xhp on mine before doing a service at 60k

You will be fine the transmission tune is only for your transmission, it will not affect your tuners map
