Hey on the Merlin theory, there's flavor text at the bottom that talks about the history of the game universe like the Holy War, Holistone, Faith Stone, etc. One of the flavor text is "with the fall of the gods, their powers return to the world. A person known as Merlin discovered ways to harness this power, which is later called 'magic'". Another one said "Towards the end of the Immortal War, mages and magisters began to band together to wage war against the avatars of the gods and try to mediate conflict. Chief among the council was the Magister Supreme, Merlin". It looks like Merlin is literally not a regular human being. Like, I'm pretty sure he's not human. Dude is the first person to harness magic and dude is the main guy to mediate conflicts among frickin deities. I think if someone can put together a concise timeline of the universe history, they might find things about Merlin and why he has frequent memory loss like the flu.
It's so funny that people just accept that Merlin can forget their entire life and all their relationships, I felt so bad for Hogen when he found out that Merlin changed again. But it's like a superpower, the ability to forget things and people not getting annoyed or mad at you for it And I love your theory about Merlin, it makes the first cutscene in the game more narrative driven (I guess?) because I thought that the cutscene was talking about the different players playing the same game and working towards similar goals like defeating the corrupted creature and the synergy helping things
i'm hoping one day we get more hair color options lkansd if i could use a light teal or light blue i would! but yES the white hair hits so hard in this game!
I think you might be onto something with Merlin having a connection with the Hypofiend/Hypogeans. In Arthurian legend he is also known as the Demon's son where his mom, a nun was tricked by an incubus and concieve him 🤔 And since the closest thing AFK have for a demon is the Hypofiend/Hypogeans.... It could be a coincidence, OOORRR the developers took some inspiration from the real life legends of "Merlin Ambrosius" for their game, honestly won't be surprise

I absolutely love this game. I'm glad I started with afk journey though. Afk arena has a tweened feel to it that makes it look a little cheap. Kinda like a pair of mass produced Chinese jeans. Afk journey has this storybook look that feels clean and cozy. Like a pair of nicely made slacks.

I have played AFK Arena (the prequel) for 4 years and the game is nothing but kind to the players the 2 games share plenty of characters too, Merlin included, but there, Merlin is an old man For the lore shake, you might want to check out AFK arena's "Bantus Bash" and "Tales of Esperia: Desperation" would also show you a very interesting point of view toward the 2 demon/god faction

i don't think so! :"D I haven't played AFK Arena yet! I wouldn't be surprised if Arena helps to understand some back story but so far Journey does a great job explaining the lore!
