Loved this solo album/EP. The gin is definitely my least favorite but I’ve heard that a lot of people like it. Everything else is great. Also really like his sweeps and modal change ups in this. You only ever hear Kirk play bluesy, minor pentatonic solos in Metallica (because Lars tells him to). This was very different from a composition perspective.
The Jinn is great, at the beginning I didn't like it but now I love it, maybe it's not so majestic as The Incantation is but has a lovely traveling soul.
The music might be ok, but his guitar playing is absolutely horrible. It doesn't sound like the guitarist from the biggest metal band in the world. It sounds like a 15 year old who picked up the guitar two years ago. The vibrato, the bends, the tone. Sheesh, it's just awful.
