The hardest one for me was “Para-Beetle Transfer.” I beat “Chain Chomp Chiller” on my third try.

Good list! Currently my most hated level (Yes, even more than "Chain Chomp Chiller") is "Get Over It," the vertical autoscroller where you have to very precisely wall-jump and wall-slide around sawblades. But not too fast, or you'll slide into the acid! Fun!
The clear challenge mechanic would be so much better if the stuff that made the level permanently unwinnable like "landing on the ground" just killed you outright. And why can't they program in checkpoints with challenges like that? I get it with "collect X items," maybe, but why is this not possible with the binary challenges?

March of the Rookie Toads is just Yoshi's Island but Yoshi is carrying 10 babies on his back
And instead of having a timer the babies try to go back to the start for some reason

To anyone struggling with chain chomp chiller: if you don’t move at the start, the first chain chomp can’t hit you, if you run without stopping the 2nd one can’t hit you, and stop right infron of all the others before they land, and they can’t hit you. The last one though, you just have to try like 500000 times
If just use a star Luigi gives you and blocks for snake part
Oisin Benson that’s cheating tho. If you use the assist parts, you didn’t really beat story mode
The last one requires you to carry a trampoline from earlier so the chain chomp bounces onto it and gets stuck on the bridge At least that is how I got past that part.
Also, when I reached the end for the first time, I jumped out of excitement and touched the ground, and I had to do everything again. It was heartbreaking... but also funny.
The last one is actually the easiest. All you have to do is put a trampoline to make it bounce onto the top platform.

Rookie Toads was actually quite fun for me. As one who has an addiction for collectathons, Toad missions are really enjoyable! Tho many of these entries caused me frustration, especially the "no jump" levels.
The ending was hilarious tho.

Funny thing is this was one of the only ones I could do easily but failed about every single one and used luigi maybe coz it's one of the last one I did
Dash on Dash off is soooo easy
I struggle with speedrun levels. I can see why anyone would put Dash On, Dash Off on their hardest SMM2 levels, and hardest Mario levels in general. Even The Lost Levels didn't force you to speedrun any levels.

One note...on W1-1, in that sub area there is a 1UP mushroom in the bricks along the top. So at least you can keep getting a life there and not run out of them on this difficult level.

I mean the only hard part is the clear condition itself and the en which are still ez.
If it wasn’t hard for you that is fine. But it is one of the most annoying levels to go through, up there with that no ground level in the sky and the stone one.

I think it’s funny how while talking about the one in #10 he only mentioned the easy parts like having to glide down the airship with like 2 saws and having to climb up vines or jump on enemies instead of the practically unplayable clown car part(it’s a tight space where the floor and ceiling and walls are all spikes so if you touch anything your clown car will get locked in a loop of panicking in circles until you die from hitting spikes)
“Para-beetle transfer” is the hardest one for me. March of the rookie toads is not that hard.

The REAL classic sonic is the one in his 1st game. The CHARECTER is in the recent Sonic Forces and many others. He's both a character, and a point in time.

I haven't beat all of story mode's levels, cause I'm lazy, but my God, some jobs like you said are repetitive as heck. Especially #10. I honestly went through 10 or so lives on the same attempt cause I kept getting lives. Chain Chomp Killer was a more medium level for me, but hard since I like grazing my fingers over the buttons. For some hard levels, I used Luigi's making tools or sometimes if it's too hard that I can't even use the making tools, I ask Luigi to do it

Thanks for making this video. My brother plays the Story Mode, so I tell him which levels to avoid. And yes, Airship Flight is definitely one of the more difficult levels in the Story Mode.
You're making some of these levels harder then they need to be.
Like, looking at your footage for #8 - you're not even taking advantage of the hover ability of the Goomba Shoe.
It’s called “dramatization for comedic effect”.
Plus, you might want to pay more attention, fam! The shoe in #8 doesn’t have wings attached, therefore it *doesn’t* have a hover ability.

Para beetle transfer killed me about 40 times, every other level including the ones on this list took me 1-9 tries but the para beetle one was just so difficult, and I didn't use Luigi at all, I did all with Mario
For the claw challenge in Stone of Destiny, you can just place the stone on the ground. The claw can still grab the stone

I remember the stone level for the first time I played it in the 4th room I used the feature to cheat with Luigi to place blocks to get the key (I did go back and beat it proper later)

The only level on this list that i had trouble with was the toad escort one. I liked the no jump levels, i thought they were pretty creative. Chain chomps werent werent a problem for me bc they do have a pattern that is the same every time.

One of the hardest think is ancient Seesaw Fortress. Because it is very long, and if you die even at the very end, you havee to restart from the checkpoint. It is very boring and also very hard.
I don’t really have an issue on the no jump levels, but I have to admit that there some jobs that gave me some trouble.

Another annoying thing about chain chomp chiller is that there is a glitch or bug that when your walking on a slope with the no jumping clear condition there is a chance walking on a slope counts as leaving the ground and touching it again
In the secrets of the dry bones shell I literally needed to watch a yt video on how to do it. And on the vine I knew I was able to ground pound I just didn't know what I had to do. Somehow I got that red coin without the vine and needed to do very precise jump out of the dry bones shell
Personally, in my opinion, I think the stone puzzle level is the hardest. It is so ambiguous and difficult. Secret of the Dry Bones Shell is not much easier.
Edit: Sea of Sorrow took 1 shot for me.

March of the Rookie Toads is a lesson for Mario to know how hard was for Yoshi to take care of him as a baby.

Bramble Gaming: Sea of Sorrow is the hardest water level in story mode

Luigi legit turned into Mario more than 9 times using a pipe
Dash on Dash off is one of the shortest levels in any Mario game while Wendy’s ice castle is one of the longest

In chainchomp chiller, there are flowers to mark where they’ll land in the first section. Just that makes it drop to number four on my list.
One of the hardest levels for me was Escape of the Swinging Claws. Horrific. Even more horrific with Joy-Con drift.

I honestly just used a Luigi star to deal with number 5's piranha plant. And I found number 2 somewhat easy.
Nice list, but I'll share my personal opinions on these levels as well
10. Pretty challenging
9. Easy
8. Took a couple tries but wasn't too bad
7. Tedious and long but was easy
6. Knew the tricks but was still kind of hard
5. Super frustrating but I beat it relatively quickly
4. I definitely agree with you, this was the hardest level in story mode for me
3. Died a couple times on the hard parts but overall wasn't too bad
2. It was easy for me, the trick is just to be incredibly careful and patient
1. Very hard level, dodging all the chain chomps can be very challenging

Isn't that a winged goomba shoe in summer shootout? Because if it is, you'd be able to flutter like with yoshi, making the level considerably easier.
The worst I’ve raged at a smm2 story mode level is the one where you can’t get into a swinging claw
You can make march of the rookie toads a lot easier by going thru the level and killing every enemy then go back to start and get all toads.
You probably already know this but the reason Nintendo didn't add checkpoints to those Dont Leave The Ground levels is because you cant add a checkpoint when there's a clear condition
I about cried when one toad died at the end and flew back to the beginning in March of the Rookie Toad

Hello, BrambleGaming! So, how've you been? I hope you've been well. So...do you remember how I told you that I completed the 1-1 parody on my first try? Well, that was an accidental lie. The goombrat messed me up...oh, and all the other enemies did too. Man! The last level you listed is terrible. Think about it: Avoiding chain-chomps is hard as it is, but when Mario's movement options are restricted to only running and climbing vines, then it's a nightmare. Incidentally, if you were to bring back one of the items from Super Mario Maker 1 that was omitted in Super Mario Maker 2, which one would it be? The amiibo costumes would be a cool comeback, but multiplayer messed it all up. If two players have the same costume, it would be hard to decipher who is who, even though there is that little bubble in online multiplayer that tells all of the players precisely this. However, playing in offline multiplayer would make the amiibo costumes impractical. Therefore, I would choose the Weird Mushroom to make a comeback. Have a great day, Brambles, and take care! There was a soundfrog level where if there’s a magikoopa who turns the flagpole into a mushroom, that was the hardest
I really enjoy Story Mode in Super Mario Maker 3DS too. 100 original levels by Nintendo that get tougher with progression.
I thought all of the no jump levels were pretty solid, except for the chain chomp one.

Personally, Airship Flight was kind of fun for me, I kind of like the level design.
But I totally agree with the placement of March of the Rookie Toads. That level sucked.

The level based around the stone was INCREDIBLY hard because I couldn't EVER figure out what the heck to do. It's rated as 1☆ however. HOW?!

When you play Super Mario Maker 2 once more, you will see quite a bit of notifications saying that I commented and gave your courses likes. Half were drawings, another half were comments that I made about the levels, and some were just stamps. So! I know it should kind of be a "surprise" thing, but I actually plan on building an M&M's Adventure level for you. How it's going to work out, I'm not sure. That chain chomp level reminds me so much of Toxic Waste from Crash Bandicoot.
For March of the Rookie Toads, I used the parts, and killed the pirahna, built around enemies, and beat it with ease, I feel like I cheated the entire thing.
No jumping allowed should be number 1 in my opinion sure the other no jumps levels are hard but there later into the game no jumping allowed is still pretty early in the story mode so ur most likely not experienced enough to complete it
I did chain chomp chiller on my first try, I think the hardest one was the one with the screen scrolling down and you have to wall jump

Mario not being able to jump is the equivalent of Sonic not being to run
8:50 there are koopa shells you can use to kill it
Hard ones that you missed:
The airship cannon one
The one with the fast-moving platform over rising and sinking lava
The first no jumping allowed one
The one where you have to get 80 coins while throwing shells in the air
I 100% agree with your choice of the hardest level
What about the first Dance Frog course, thats Underwater Night with tons of Cheep Cheeps?
And also the Parabeetle Airship at night level?
