Hey RDF! Brilliant work! Maybe you could try England's 3-5-2 World Cup 2018 tactics or their more recent 4-3-3 formations. They have that 3 at the back and 5 at the front pattern during build up play, maybe you could try it out and cause some mayhem? England (and Italy) always seem to dominate international football during saves (I definitely like that they are though hahahaha #itscominghome).
A good tactic suggestion might be Alexander Blessin's 3-5-2/5-3-2 Gegenpress playing style in the Belgian competition with KV Oostende! He's defying all the odds by still being in the running for European football 🙂
This doesnt completely compare to the real set up. Real Madrid plays a very high defensive and offensive line and they counterpress but quickly revert to a 4-4-2 when it doesnt work. They dont press in a 4-4-2 system, it's just that either Modric or Kroos picks up the center just like a number 10 would do too in a pressing system like with Bayern. Casemiro dependable on the opponents lineup when they play only one defensive pivot, picks up the pivot even though Kroos or Modric would still pick up the center, but have either player of the defensive correspondend to the player in open space cover him for example. Also Casemiro plays more upfront then your FM safe implies. You shouldve either used Casemiro as a BWM, who naturally has the trait to arrive late in the box and shoots long shots like Casemiro does. The other option is what I'm playing rn, with an asymmetrical lineup of Casemiro as BVM/or CM with certain instructions like going forward right in the middle as central midfielder, Kroos either right behind him as Regista or assymetrically left and beside him Modric on a CM role, playing in between the lines beside Casemiro on the right. Casemiro for me consistently averages above 10 goals for me. I'm now about 3 months before the end of the season and he has already scored 11 and provided 5 assists(of which surely 3 laying back headers to other players after arriving late in the box), Next to that it's quite on point. I've gone undefeated with only 5 draws in total in all competitions rn.
So you use Casemiro in a support duty in the dm or cm strata? What about Kroos being able to drop deep in build build but then transition to a support role?
@@BDAPink I have Casemiro as CM role or BWM, in the middle straight above where a DM should be, Modric right next to him on the right and Kroos asymmetrically left below him as a regista. Casemiro is the one I give the freedom to run past fowards, whereas for both Modric as Kroos, I have it off so they'll stay behind but pick their opportunities to join the attack, because Regista naturally roams from position whereas I give Modric the freedom to roam also. You'll notice Kroos stays on the left slightly behind them and how naturally it looks like how Madrid plays with him and Modric controlling the penalty area when Casemiro joins the attack in the third. Defensively counter and high pressing with Casemiro more upfront makes it much more efficient IMO. Quite a lot high lights of mine start with him winning a duel on the midfield while pressing. He'll act as a defensive mid too since he's centrally placed if you are under pressure. Without the ball just like in Real life, it's Casemiro winning the balls basically everywhere on the field, with Kroos and Modric closing passing lines
