I ❤️ the Golden Girls to this day! Seasons 1-4 are the best! ...and as a black woman, I was NEVER offended by the "black face" in the Mixed Blessings episode 🙄 It was innocent and funny which is why I enjoyed the show. Our society and culture has gone overboard with the P.C. 🤦🏾

Oh wow. So the initial concept of this show was indirectly brought on by Miami Vice. Interesting. You learn something new everyday. It had one of the best tv sitcom intros. Can you do one on the group "4 Example"?
The switch of Blanche and Rose characters by the actors who played them was nothing short of brilliant. That’s partly why Bea Arthur took the part. Bea was upset because Betty won the Emmy first. I’m surprised Bea and Rue wasn’t that close. They seemed as if they would be close since they did Maude together. It was Rue that sent Bea the Golden Girls script! Rose and Sophia’s clothes were off the rack. Bea’s and Blanche’s clothes were custom made. In the first episode of Empty Nest, they made jokes directed at Rita Moreno because she bad mouthed her experience there.
RIP all 4 funny & fabulous ladies, Rue, Bea, Estelle & Betty I get a kick out all 4 of them each character are so different but yet come together to give up smiles & laughs. Sophia has always been my favorite Golden Girl she's an old lady who's Italian but speaks her mind & isn't afraid to call things & people out & is fiercely protective of her daughter Dorothy. Sophia uses her age to her advantage every chance she gets she's also a mother figure to Rose & Blanche both ladies admit they go to her room some nights to talk about their problems to her which surprised Dorothy.
I love the Golden Girls! I thinking of having my 40th Bday themed The Golden Girls! And I like the spin off The Golden Palace, it was for 1 season but I still loved it too! At different parts of my life, I've been one of the girls😂. It seems so surreal that they are all gone but not forgetten! 💜

Show was ahead of its time. Started watching it as a kid in the 80’s because of my mom 🕊️and granny 🕊️ Who would have known as a 45 year old Black man now, that I still watch the reruns faithfully to this day and somehow can relate to a totally different demographic.
Same here 80's kid grew up watching lots of 80's to 90's shows and movies etc. As a child in 80's era my grandmother and I evenings spent together watch The Golden Girls was my cherished memoiries of us. Though I've seen all of the episodes dozens of times over the decades, it never gets old, and still remains just as funny. There'll never be another ensemble like Bea, Betty, Rue, and Estelle.
