@@marshalljulie3676idiotic comment. Teenagers getting jobs is the most normal thing in the world, and people are taught to trust their boss and to trust friendly neighbors. You wouldn’t say a teenager was “obsessed with money and material things” because they got a job. You would say they were responsible. Why does that change when the teenager is murdered by their boss? The creepy neighbor was grooming her, and grooming her parents. This job seemed like any normal job. You’re acting like he was giving her money in exchange for her letting him say creepy things to her, which wasn’t the case at all. Even if that was the case, it would still be his fault. But all she was trying to do was be responsible and work for a family friend!! You’re delusional to think she was “obsessed” with money or that this was her fault in any way.

I never understand people who want to find any reason to blame a child who is the victim of a brutal murder.
I don’t care if a victim was dancing around your house naked begging for a car or a Barbie Dream House. If you think murdering a child is the appropriate response instead of telling the parents, telling the authorities, or at minimum, cutting off contact, there is something very wrong with _you_. And no one should believe a word you say when you try to destroy your victim’s character to justify your own guilt.

YES they could have investigated their relationship further as her parents BUT this is hardly the time to start saying what they “should” have done. Trust no one including family members. I unfortunately understood this at a young age 😢 and when my husband passed when both my children were still young. I put all my time and effort into loving and raising them and working and taking care of my home. I had no interest in dating mostly because I wasn’t about to let anyone get close to my children or into my home. Most just wanted to play anyway and I wanted no part in being played. They are grown now and worth every second of my time and attention 😊
