Dude I've never understood the issue with flat feet. I've been athletic most of my life. I never had any problems. So it just puzzled the hell out of me as to why I wouldn't be allowed to join the army. Believe me when I say I've done my fair share of long distance walking. 29km, 5 days per week, It was apart of my job. No issues apart from hardened skin lol
Being flat footed myself since birth, currently 16, I never had troubled with running. My feet would hurt after standing for 10+ minutes and I naturally sway my body to help, but I could usually run fast if not faster than most other kids during P.E., and I'm a bit of a chunker. Being 5'7 I never had the lengthy body needed for swimming, and I was usually not fast with swimming either. Point is, depending on how your body shape is along with your flat feet determine your capabilities, just cus you have flat feet doesn't mean it's hard for everyone with flat feet to do one thing.
Hey man I’m 20 and I was a flat foot athlete, my best advice is to buy inserts and actually wear them and commit to them. Even if they hurt at first. It will benefit i in the long run! I was hurt many times playing sports and now have pain in my ankles, lower back and knees all the time.

With my experience with flat feet. Shoes Play a big part in foot function in toe mobility. With it being enclosed it doesn’t allow the foot to have proper strength
2:18 Eh, not quite. Tibialis Posterior, Flexor Digitorum Longus, Fibularis Longus (any muscles that act on the 1st ray, navicular and support the talus) Sit on a low adjustable stool and adjust the height til you have a 90 deg knee bend. Lean forward onto your forearm over one knee. This simulates having weight on your lower leg, but locks out your hips and knees. Lift your heel slightly and rock your foot side to side like a boat across your toes. Put your heel down and do the same motion. You will now see and feel how your foot pronates and supinates with the activation of the muscles deep in the lower leg. Activating these deep muscles is what creates stability in the foot, and offloads the hips and knees. The goal is to get the line of force down through the calcaneal point of contact during heel strike and stance as much as possible AND balance and limit the end range of movement of the talo-calcaneal joint. This all coming from a person with hypermobility, tibial and femoral torsion and who has had 3 revision surgeries for a subtalar implant. Bottom line, arches don't matter, but alignment and axis of force and thrust absolutely do.

Hi! I have super flat feet and I've got pain in my foot (hard to describe where, but it's around the accessory navicular), what should I do?
try slowly rolling a tennis ball under your bare feet , i’m not sure on why it works but it rlly reduces the pain :)
