    I love drinking kava, 20 years now about 4 or 5 times a week. I feel great at 70. No pains or aches.
    I love the tradition, though I mostly drink on my own. There is zero addiction. I occasionally run out for a few weeks, no prob.
    Its truly a friend, a noble plant and a privilige to drink. Thanks for this video presentation. Jesse.

    I've been drinking kava all weekend thus far and I really relate to that desire to chill in nature. But with a little sensible timing and moderation, I've also cared for children, done housework, driven to do grocery shopping, socialised and gotten plenty of cruisey exercise. It really is such a miraculous root. There have been no downsides for me whatsoever. Thanks for creating this.

      @@VegieBBr I appreciate that info. After I received my order, I made up a batch and drank it, and I will admit, it was quite effective. However, this stuff just really isn't for me. I love a euphoric buzz, but this stuff to me feels like a cross between a couple of shots of hard alcohol and a couple of hits of strong weed. Neither of which is really my think anymore. I get mild empathogenic effects from kava (increased empathy) as well as a sense that I am in a state of consciousness slightly more elevated. Alcohol is the complete opposite of spirituality in my book, same with other hard drugs like heroin, meth, pills, etc. Kava is a plant medicine big time, it saved my life.

    • @bigmoneymandan360
      @bigmoneymandan360 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      What if kava was given to a socio/psychopath would it bring them any real empathetic effects? I'm genuinely curious about this. I have never done kava I have done opiates ( in hospitals from accidents and the like) weed, alcohol, cigarettes, gabapentin, Adderall, mushrooms, lsd never heroin or meth or really ever any coke. The point being there are only a few drugs that I would say aren't addictive and that's psychedelics. But kava seems to genuinely make people immediately empathetic. people who normally don't give a fuck about others are suddenly caring People from the videos I see and the reviews which aside from psychedelics I don't know of things that can man you feel Empathy

    • @Pellagrah
      @Pellagrah 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bigmoneymandan360 Kava can act as an excellent social lubricant, though it's hard to call it a true empathogen and I wouldn't ingest it strictly for that purpose. I would say that it can loosen social inhibitions in the same way functional doses of other anxiety-relieving compounds can. That's different from the instantaneous and effortless sense of deep connection one feels on a compound like MDMA.

    • @VegieBBr
      @VegieBBr ปีที่แล้ว

      This is very impractical way of making it. Look into traditional prep way, or something like the AluBall Pro or kalmpouch. The way in vid is very wasteful and could have got much much much more out of root instead of just letting it sit for 10-20min and using a French press. I've been using it regularly since 2006 and almost find the way it's done in video offensive in its wastefulness tbh .. but atleast it's bringing awareness of kava to people 😊

      I completely agree. The kneading and bag method yields a much stronger and powerful brew. I’ve tried the concentrated powder and shake/blender method, but have found that the process of kneading for about 10 minutes gets me in the right mindset prior to ingesting. Kava isn’t cheap either so I like to literally “squeeze “ every little kavalactone I can out of each brew. Enjoy your creations either way. There are many paths to a good thing.

    I have difficulty with sleep cycles and it is so wearing, I feel better when I sleep at night, but sometimes I start sleeping just a few hours and then up 24 or more hours. I asked my physician for med and I was given gabapentin for a fracture that caused nerve pain. And it helped me sleep and I appreciated the break from the pain and the full night's sleep but to take as something to me balance out my days and nights gabapentin is a powerful drug. Leaves me dragging and goofy, hungover on the med and I talk to Drs but they keep me on gabapentin. I had chocolates for a while that really helped me to keep good sleeping hours but the cost and drive to get the chocolates is too much. The Kava sounds perfect. And will aide in the quality of sleep from what I hear you saying. Kratom has been helpful also but I am going to try Kava Kava . If I had to compare it to something I would compare it to high doses of CBD. Very surprisingly nice experience and I think I will be using it permanently.

    Been using it for years ( at least 25 )...I would say this is all good information, but I’d caution one has yet to try it to not expect quite the dramatic level of effect implied here. The data is accurate any while it’s true that experience is both dose dependent and varies from person to person, I’d say the most common experience is milder. But it’s still might provide some people with more intense experience and others with much less.

    I've been putting about half cup to a cup of kava in a pint glass add some lemon juice and warm water. I stir it and I cover it and leave it, I stir it 2 times a day every day for 3 days them I strain it using 2 different strainers. I get all the bigger particles out and put those in a strainer bag and squeeze it till all liquid is out. Then I use a reusable coffee filter to strain it all even more. Then I squeeze the powder slop lol. And it makes about a pint and it is fairly strong. My wife uses it and kratom for tooth pain. And I use both to help me sleep. And we use old babyfood jars. It's a good amount not to much not to little.

      @@theceej100 so it really helps with a lot. So first I would get a shaker cup for making protein shakes the ones with the solid ball inside. Then take a cup of fine kava root powder get the hottest water from your tap and put kava in cup add warm/hot water to cup make sure after it's all mixed well that it's not super thick you want it kinda thin, put lid on hold cap closed it will pop if you dont lol shake it vigorously for 2 minutes let it sit for 10 minutes then shake again for 2 minutes. Strain in a muslin bag. Make sure you add about a extra cup/8 oz of warm water after you poor it into the bag that's in a large glass bowl add the last cup of water to shaker cup to get as much kava out of the shaker cup as you can then poor it in bag. And hold the top of bag closed really well twist it a few times at the top. And with the other hand kneed the bag in the bowl then pull it out and kneed it over the bowl till all water comes out of the bag/ kava. And then kneed it in the water again then kneed over bowl again. Take all the kava root and put it in a bowl in the freezer over night it can be used 2 times to make good kava. It helps pull the rest of the kavalactones out of the root. Then poor the mud water in a container with a tight fitting lid. in the fridge chill it then I would drink about 4-8 oz before bed. And make sure you mix the container really well before every time you poor a glass you want all the stuff on the bottom mixed in or you wont get the full affects. You will find out how much you personally need. So as far as the affects it will numb your mouth a good bit that is normal. It's why my wife drinks kava. It all hits fairly quick And you will start to feel very relaxed. I would go to bed when you feel it kick in. You will know when it hits you. There are a ton of good videos on how to prep it, all the ways work. But for me my way is the best. It makes very strong kava and non of it goes to waist and depending on how often you drink it it will last a few days.

    Thank you for this excellent video explaining kava kava in an extensive and useful way. I was looking for a refresher so that I could consider its usage once again, but this time as a possible way to wean back my crippling kratom addiction.10 years ago there was very little truthful information to be found when I started taking kratom, but what Was said was identical to this. In fact I tried kava kava at the very same point in time but could Not find a way to make it palatable whatsoever. Is there a reason why this can't be taken in the same "toss & wash" fashion as kratom is? It seems like a terrible waste to filter the powder if consuming it isn't damaging in any way. As a horrifically addicted kratom user I look at this expensive product and see nothing but waste here. When I started kratom I'd been happily drinking for at least 20 years and had no intention of stopping. Kratom literally Kicked me off of it slowly but surely-and man, I sure do NOT miss it's hangovers and bloating grossness- but it did not take me long to become Absolutely physically addicted to the kratom powder itself. The honeymoon ended quite quickly but the physical need made it so I couldn't sleep 8 hours without waking up in hell. The main meds I was given for meniscus surgery worked fine before kratom, but surgery on my other knee last February found me screaming in pain before I even woke up because my heavy kratom use killed its effects. We need Truth out there, not lies to prevent a ban.
    I am absolutely Against the government controlling ANY drug and I fully feel that kratom could help billions of people while justly destroying pharmaceutical corporations as they deserve, but for the first time in my life I am Actually addicted and have been controlled by this substance for 10 years now and it's a goddamn nightmare. There are ways to defend kratom without misleading otherwise unaddicted people into the dictatorship I, and millions of others, live under-who otherwise could have made better and more informed introductory decisions. I'm finally ready to locate something like kava kava that will take my hand and lead me away from those all day long additional dosages that keep me at this kilo-a-month level of imprisonment.
    Thanks to forums like Reddit people now have access to the truth, and thanks to people like you we have informed choices to make about possible alternatives. Thank you.

      Also consider some other types. I've used all of Kavafied's products that you mention, as well as Bula Kava House and Gourmet Hawaiian Kava, Squanch, Nakamal at Home and others. But my go-to seems to be Kalm With Kava. Hawaiian Ava and Bula Waka for times during the middle of the day where I want some relief without the drowsiness, and something like Loa Waka for later in the day when I want to unwind and get ready for sleep.
      I've had some give me that feeling you describe, with that front-end feeling (mood lift, sense of well-being) followed by this strange "low" feeling. Everybody's different, but I found I got that more often from things like Kavafied's Kava Supreme, and BHK's Nambawan. AMOUNT plays a big role in this, as you probably know. Initially Kava didn't have an effect on me (following the 3 TBSP suggestion on the back of many packages) but once I increased that, the anti-anxiety effects really could be felt. THEN I was able to lower back down.
      Hope this is helpful to you!

    I’m hoping it will help with neck/shoulder/upper back pain and tension, some muscle relaxation, and the general aches and pains that have come with being 55 years old and going through “the change” 🥵
    I just hope it isn’t too nasty tasting. 🤢😝

      @@JesseCoomer Hey man thanks for getting back to me so quick ive now drank most of my drink and theres no numbing of my mouth or lips, i checked the packaging and it turns out its not even Kava (i think) 😦 its called ASHWAGANDHA POWDER with/or including Withania Somnifera, Winter Cherry and Indian Ginseng
      I guess im gonna have to get my own, ive got some tablets that said friend gave me but i dont want to try them now 😞 i will get back to you though as i think Kava could really help me out with my struggles, Take care pal 😉

      Instant blends are usually good as soon as you mix them up! I've been using Drinkroot and I love them! Check them out here:

    What would you say about kava concentrates and extracts? Do they work better than the tea or is the tea the best way to have it?

      I like them all. However, the drink, when prepared well, is the strongest :)
