Of course not, the US is too busy dealing with its own repartitions requests, even though very few Americans alive today have anything to do with the people who profited from slavery, the vast majority of the US population are recent immigrants who came to take advantage of (perceived) freedom and built the American economy as we know it today, and hundreds of thousands of people already died in order to end slavery in the US.

As a Jamaican, I was listening carefully to the historical overview, and kudos to you for the presentation, however, some of the information was off. Slavery was abolished in 1834, not 1837. The apprenticeship system was abolished in 1837.
Abolished in 1837, the act was passed 1834 and allowed for the apprenticeship period which was a sort of transition period geared mainly to the planters giving them time to figure out how they were gonna come up with ways to still make money off black slaves.
The apprenticeship was a part of slavery.
Jamaica and other continents should be included. The Arabs also need to be held accountable.

Jamaica was the sugar hub, so people were imported from other lands and utilized once the original population couldn’t keep up with the labour demands. At the time the people from the African continent were considered most strong to withstand the heat and endure long labour. So, Africans were brought over to Jamaica as well as other settlers and “workers” from other counties. Jamaica brought in a lot of revenue for the UK Empire because sugar was used a lot and in everything. Africa was and is very rich in natural resources so a lot of countries and kingdoms wanted a what they could occupy and control.

@@godfredsumabe9151 You need to remember a few things, one is that museums BUY a lot of their pieces legally, or are gifted pieces or fund expeditions to dig up pieces.
Considering the reason why they are in a museum is usually because they are ancient and as such determining which pieces were stolen vs which pieces are legal is a very very difficult thing to do.
There are cases where people lie about where they got pieces, other times there are items gifted or bought long ago legally that are grouped into the "stolen" sets(whether intentionally or unintentionally).
Then the process for returning the pieces involves someone throwing thousands maybe millions of dollars away buying the pieces from the museum to simply give them away.
Ask yourself this if some random person you never met from your country was to steal something would you personally drop millions on buying it back for someone else.
Also looting was something done worldwide and its generally a given that what happened happened, for instance the vikings and romans both took treasures and damaged holy sites in UK but its generally accepted that that time is over now and i don't think any brit will ask for any form of payback now.
And it's not like people aren't trying, as with anything legal it takes time...pieces have already been returned.

Jamaica is not the only country that suffered from slavery. But here’s an interesting question. What guarantee is there that the people will receive the compensation? The ones who might be given the responsibility to distribute any compensation might pocket it themselves. They British should take the responsibility of making it possible for displaced people to be able to find their ancestral roots through DNA Testing and return our history to us. There are Indians in the Caribbean whose ancestors were taken from India as indentured laborers but there is no documented information for their descendants to trace their roots.
With all respect East Indians are from Indian. If east Indians are in the Carribians that is enuff proof. Please give the Indians what they labored for we all must be honest. The God is real.
With DNA testing, it is possible to find out where your ancestors came from and return to that country.
