FYI croatian name of Sibenik cathedral is St. Jakov's cathedral and Corrky got his name after his grand grandfather Jakov who was born in a small village about 20 km from the cathedral.

I plan on visiting Croatia later in the year, when it's not so hot. Himself is going there this week so I'm super jealous. You look so tanned Jakov! Would be good to run through the application process for anyone interested in applying as it seems quite involved, having to get documents apostilled and translated into Croatian from what I understand and 3 trips to the local police station to register your address in Croatia, pick up a temporary resident card and then return to collect the permanent resident card. Add to this the poor attitude of officials dealing with applicants it doesn't fill me with a positive feeling at this stage. However, I would love to live in Croatia for a year, so I will keep exploring the process.
@@Corrky I lived with a Croatian construction labourer doing construction studies as evening courses in a shared house early noghties in Dublin. And, I knew a judge's daughter married an EU with a green card around same time (didn't last) emigrated with her husband to the US but split after she was established there. A bit of a social climber, she left the husband and went to Harvard to study etc and I suppose move in the social circles she desired. Totally different ends of the social spectrum but very much focused on leaving the country and making a new life. I think this has broadly played out over the last 20 or so years for many people in southern Europe and beyond. The 2008 global financial crisis actually made things much worse for everyone worldwide. Now we are all equal, and we live in a diverse and inclusive environment. Yes, Corrky it's very sad actually, you are right.

Is there a way around the accommodation requirement? For example, could I book a short term rental for just one month. Or book something and later cancel it. I want to get a Croatian digital nomad visa but I'd rather spend most of my time traveling to various countries in Europe.
The roots of my ex are from Šibaonik and what a crazy woman she is.I hope there are some Croats left there and you might tell everybody why they left and why did you leave as well. 🤠

To je vrlo subjektivno a ja ne znam gotovo nista o situaciji za liječnike niti u HR niti u Irskoj tako da stvarno ne znam sta da ti kazem. Sorry.
