    Of all the Switzerland videos I've watched, yours has been the best so far. One can't watch your videos and not go to Switzerland prepared or know what to do. Thanks Ollie
    Can you do a video like this about Geneva?

    Wow, your health insurance really is high, I pay 3/4th of your monthly fee.
    One of the tricks I use to make my food cheaper is by buying in bulk. For example I have a chest freezer and usually buy 1/4th beef, half a pig or similar amounts freshly from the farmer. That way I get very cheap meat. Added to that is the quality being much higher, since I can choose a farmer I like. Same goes with fruits and vegetable, although I understand that a lot of people would want those fresh

    • @Olliechinny
      @Olliechinny  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      That’s a very good suggestion! I never considered buying in bulk from the farmer, but also because I don’t have that much freezer storage

      I think the insurance also varies depending on where you live, and it’s particularly high in Vaud. Which canton are you in…?

    Hello! Thanks for doing these videos, it’s vvv helpful haha. Just wondering whether it’s common to rent cars in Geneva/other cantons and how much the cost of renting, petrol, etc, would look like. Are there many rental car services available and do they offer hourly/daily car rentals?

    • @Olliechinny
      @Olliechinny  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don’t drive in Switzerland. Not the best to answer. There is Mobility car sharing which goes by the hour

  • @caterinacevallos9822
    @caterinacevallos9822 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I'm not sure where exactly you're travelling to and from, but the annual Mobilis subscription might be a cheaper option for most people (rather than half-fare plus).

    • @Olliechinny

      @@Olliechinny I see, but why is half-fare plus better than annual Mobilis subscription? Are you traveling across cantons/cities everyday? What I'm saying is that for most people who work where they live, annual Mobilis subscription is better.

    How about subscription services, do households in Switzerland usually have those? Like Netflix. Cause I suppose most people don't watch traditional TV channels these days. Also, home internet and mobile phone plan? Not sure if you left those out by accident 😆 But great info nonetheless.

      Interestingly enough, the Swiss people actually said no on a national minimum salary when we got to vote on it. There are some unions (carpenter, Health Care, ...) who have a standardized contract and salary, but no full coverage. But for reference, the median salary (in 2023) is about 6600CHF per month

    When I travel to Europe, I avoid Switzerland. If I want to enjoy the mountains, I go to Austria or Italy. Much better, the people are friendlier, the food is better, and much less expensive. We travelled through Switzerland this past spring, we stopped in Interlaken for lunch. Service was bad, food mediocre, and outrageously expensive. And do not get me started about Zurich....

      Stupid remark! What does being a Muslim have to do with your tax rate? If you live in Switzerland, they won't give a shit whether you are a Muslim...you'll have to pay the applicable tax rate, regardless of your religion. Or did you think you should receive special treatment because you're so damn special?
