Croatian food just taste so good. I think it’s because it’s so organic and Croatians love tasty well marinated food
The people in Croatia are sooooo nice!! Totally agree that Zagreb is livable and great value! it was so cheap there to live and eat, and the burgers were to die for! it really is underrated because everyone goes immediately to the beach. the beaches are great but we're so glad we didn't miss Zagreb because it's so worth it! Glad you guys were able to spend time there and wish we could have met up! Have fun in Prague :)

You dont live in Zagreb if you live there for more than 10 years you are not gonna have same felling for croatia axualy markets in croatia are giving to turists more prices like to me something will cost 15 kuna what is 2 euro there are gonna say its 5 euro

Medium size flat - 4000 kn - about 500 €
Living costs - 2500 - 3500 kn - about 400 €
Salaries - 1000 - 1200 €
We spent a month in Zagreb last Christmas. Wonderful Christmas festivities. I agree that the food and the people are wonderful. Easy place to hang out when your 90 days in the Schengen are running out.

That is Zagreb colour, same light blue colour is on the coat of arms of Zagreb.
The city is famous for its bad garbage disposal economy lol...and there are many city parts that struggle with the local government about the disposal of the garbage. The mayor cares only about the city center, which is where all the tourists are. The center really is clean all the time, but the rest of the city not so much.
Internet speed and connectivity is good (maybe not speed but the connectivity and stability definitely), better than in Germany for example.

Correction: there are trains and beside the intercity and inetrnational ones, there the commuter trains that connect east, west and south of Zagreb.

I'm living here for 3 months. I love the city, it's so chill, people are nice, not expensive and there are a lot of cafes, restaurants, museums and things to do.
The only thing I disagree with you it's the weather. When it's close to autumn, it gets so wet. It rains for 10 days straight but the temperature is really good (between 5-22) and it's not windy, so it gets pretty pleasant being outside.

Of course anyone should visit Croatia. Not saying that just because of my Croatian heritage but it's such a unique place. Slavic with Mediterranean, Austro-Hungarian and Italian influences. My most favorite meal is bakalar in a small konoba.

Ozujsko now its not good better try pan,jelen,karlovacko food is realy good and you need try burek sa sirom or burek sa mesom with jogurt im live in Sisak from Sisak to Zagreb you need 1hour with bus
As of January 1st, 2023 Croatia will be in the Schengen zone and also in Eurozone which means no more border check points with Slovenia and Hungary plus no more Kuna, instead we will use Euro. About being a cheap place, not so much anymore because this year all the prices went crazy high!
i am from Croatia and in my opinion you should go to the beaches but not the most popular places like zadar because everything is hella expensive...you should find a less popular place like posedarje or go take a swim in zrmanja and dont get me wrong zagreb is great and all but the beaches are just more appealing to me

But as someone born there I'd say stay of the beer it isn't easy to find craft beers - stick to wine, there is a wine road around it and if you skipped out you missed a lot
And early morning wine a Croatian quote is in order - you cannot drink all day if you don't start early
There is a intercity train - you got that wrong, but connects only the city with small close towns
I do love the can of žuja in the back (zhuja - short and fast) but I'd prefer the Jackie on the right hand side - full is Ozhujsko - Molson owns it now so stay away from Croatian non-craft beers. They give a massive hangover. Craft is OK but I like to stay away from Zagreb non-craft beers - beer is all about water and the mountain regions have better quality water

ozujsko (oh - jus - y -sko) it is definitely not an easy word for English speakers....the pronunciation for jus sounds French, as in red wine jus....

Man! No! You don't drink Ožujsko! We don't really like it here. 😅 If anyone of you wants to drink our beer take Velebitsko od maybe Pan or some of Medvedgrad's beers if you want the beer from Zagreb. And craft beers are good as well just no Žuja pls 🙈
Im from Croatia and I just want to say this: every capital city of a country is worth visiting. There is no doubt about that, no matter which country we talk about. Most Croatians find Zagreb to be boring, cold and depressing, especially from October to April. I've spent 6 years in the city, can only confirm, but as it's the capital of the country, you will there much more culture and fun and activities than in any other city in Croatia....with all that said, it's actually sad to say that the city is dull.. The southern region of Croatia is where the lively life is..
