- Today I'm taking on a food challenge with a twist...It's fictional...
Inspired by a few enthusiastic fans of the show and full of exuberant desire to rip off one of Binging With Babish's greatest videos, I decided to recreate and try to complete The Eggscellent Challenge from TV's Regular Show.
24 eggs, 1.2kg of chilli, 300g of cheese, 4 biscuits (not really, they're scones) and a 500g fruit bowl. One hour to finish to win a fictional hat...because why not?

Q: How come you don’t get fat?
A: I eat like this for 1 hour of a 168 hour long week. In simple terms, I eat at caloric maintenance over the course of time, meaning I don’t gain weight. If you're interested in learning more, see the 'It Was Just A Normal Day...' video.
Q: Don’t you worry about your health?
A: Not in particular. I’m active. I eat nutrient dense foods five days a week. And, I get quarterly bloods done, amongst other health checks.

Good Day Folks! Hope you’re all having a good one. I’ll be honest, I discovered Regular Show about 8 hours before filming this video, so if my references aren’t as sharp as usual, you might have to cut me some slack. Still, I’m trying to make an effort to do more stuff ‘by popular request’ lately, so I hope you enjoy it.

It was a folded 12 egg omelette with chili and cheese on top with a side fruit bowl, 2 biscuits and a cup of water. You had 1 hour to complete it and Mordecai did it in an hour.
Y’all did a 24 egg scrambled egg with chili and cheddar on top with 4 biscuits and a side fruit bowl. You literally did double the challenge in under half the time Mordecai took to finish the actual challenge. Like wtf.

The Eggscellent Breakfast challenge is actually based on an actual food challenge. JG Quintel, creator of Regular Show, when he was at San Diego comic-con went to a restaurant called the Broken Yolk and they had something called the "Iron Man Breakfast Challenge." He saw it and thought it was crazy and created an episode based off of it.

A lot of Regular Show (Close Enough included) episodes and events that happened in the show is almost loosely based on J.G Quintel's own personal life and likes, which is why i enjoyed watching his show. It felt like an autobiography in some sort of a weird way.

Hey man, as a grown ass adult I can confidently say you're never "too old" for Regular show. One of the few cartoons thats awesome as a kid, hits different as a teen, and I will 100% watch Regular Show with my own kid one day. Props to the challenge and I seriously recommend giving it a watch. The last episode always makes me tear up a little bit :')
I totally agree with you. Regular Show, Adventure Time, and Gravity Falls are all cartoons I watched as a kid and will always be willing to rewatch it.
I ate a 48 egg omelette. I thought it would be a world record. Then I saw Joey Chestnutt ate 141 boiled eggs in 8 minutes. That crushed my soul.

A dozen eggs is perfectly doable, 2 dozen is a bit to hefty for most everyone

The Eggscellent dish is made up of 12 eggs with mushrooms and peppers, before being topped on with 4 cups of chili, 2 cups of American cheese, 2 biscuits on the side and a 5-pound bowl of fruit consisting of cantaloupe, watermelon and honey dew. Mushrooms and peppers are added into the eggs. The challenger has an hour to eat it.

Okay, we don’t even know if the other ones that won the hat was training before the challenge
He also found that one guys book/notes/strategies that finished the food but picked the wrong hat and died
He practiced from the notes of the only other person to complete the challenge
He is a pro anyways. Pros aren't people with natural talents. They get good.

To answer your question, "the cartoon bird" (Mordecai) finished the omelette in an hour. The challenge was to finish it in an hour and he finished it like a second before the timer beeped.
So that means he beat the challenge he finished in about 23 min

@@AJ-xc4nm to be fair there was a lot of outside interference, Mordecai had to fight of restaurant staff and eat simultaneously.

My family has chili often. And after having chili in the evening, we generally reheat it for breakfast and put a fried egg or three on top of the chili with some cheese. It's delicious.

I've had chilli cheese omelets for breakfast a few times because of this episode. Chilli, cheese and eggs go very well together.

No, I think the title was meant to be like, "A regular show, " but regular show sounds better. The title is actually a joke though, because the show is anything but regular. It is literally about a humanoid Raccoon and Blue Jay, working at a park, and trying to not get fired by their gumball machine manager while being chased around by demons and giant evil interdimensional babies.

Crack eggs on a flat surface, when you use an edge, you are more likely to pull the membrane from the shell leading to bits of shell falling in. You want the membrane to remain mostly intact so it holds them.
