this is insanely effective. i've been doing pilates for years now so i can recognize a reliable instructor. this is a great home workout for arms. the definition you'll get if you persevere is incredible. the strength as well, just what i needed for all the downward dog poses in my power yoga practice. in exchange for what...five minutes of your time. thank you, Karen.
I've been doing this video almost every day for three weeks and more recently twice every other day. I am seeing results!!! I had no real definition before without flexing and my shoulders and arms have actual shape going on. So thank you thank you thank you!!!
It actually works. I've been doing them for over 2 months now and people ask me what are the moves. And there are changes if you do it even 2 times per week. But do it!)
I luv this video just like the leg video! it is rough but you can just tell it will work based on how difficult it is even with only 2 lbs. More of her concentrated 5--15 min workouts please! great stuff
oh. my. gosh. I have been doing this for two weeks, every day, and I'm seeing results! I did Karen's legs and butt workout when it was first posted, and I loved that one too! I am brand new to weights, and the 5 lb was way too tough for me, so I switched to 2 lbs. I still struggle with some of the exercises towards the end of the video, haha!
Love a video that challenges you but can sit because I have bad knees from running cross country and modify videos by doing upper body sitting down and wasn’t sure if still reap the benefits!! Thanks again
Fantastic!! Great workout if you are healing from an injury . You can increase the weight to make it more challenging . However it is still tough even with very little weight!! Check out her mini leg vid too !!
Oh also, the Anna kaiser inner thigh work out is BRUTAL but I've been doing that one in tandem with this one and doing them both consecutively twice in a row is working miracles!
Great mini arm workout for non-arm days! If you are counting cals overall -20 cal burn ( I realize it isn't about that but for those counters on plans)
Great episode IntoTheGloss and Karen! Looking forward to future ones. This might be a very strange question. But I do both yoga and pilates and every time I hear the instructor say 'make sure to tighten those abdominals' or 'make sure to tighten those abs to support your back'. I'm not sure what is the right technique to do this. I just heard Karen say 'abdominals in and up as always'. Makes sense, but not sure if I'm doing it right (testing this behind my desk as we speak). Any tips?
I try to do this every morning with 2 1/2 lb weights and it burns every time. I'm working towards the day when I can complete it without stopping or dropping my arms. Can I advance to 5lb weights? This is my goal..... Thanks for this video!
Charlie Noah Charlie Noah you don't only tighten your abdominals to support your back...you tighten a whole a lot of other bits...you pull up your pelvic floor (similar to kegels) - you deepen your abdominal wall towards your spine/back, you also lift up and out of hips by pulling all muscles around your waist up as you try and stretch your spine - that is why they say in and up...all of the above is only few details :) In my personal humble opinion I wouldn't consider that Pilates rather a workout technique that draws on some Pilates principles! I repeat my personal bias opinion! Very pretty and slim trainer though, my compliments!
Wow thank you Vlada for your very detailed answer! Appreciate it. It's considered a technique whilst practicing pilates so it's like you said. I've been practicing both for a year now and have experienced a lot of improvement - but just like the saying goes there's always room for more haha! I'll keep your answer in mind :)
8 years later and this is still the best arm workout ❤❤❤
Right?! I’ve been doing this workout at least a couple times per month for a handful of years now. It’s great!

At my studio, I was told it's like a "scoop" (down and up, pulling in the lower abs/belly while squeezing buns).... see Vlada K's comment above!
Saidah Blount Haha I'll start doing some serious "scooping" then. All jokes aside - these tips really help, so thanks for that :)

Are you seeing results and definition doing it everyday? Sure hope you are, I'm just starting this!
Can these work without weights too?
I did It without weight and I felt the burn in my shoulders
