SIMILARITIES of ELVIS' LIFE ON PURPOSE? 1) An Elvis song. 2) I hear the richness and depth of Lisa Maria's voice in this song, so weird, but cool. 3) And Pricilla's beehive hairdo. 4) And the black leather with guitar of Elvis in his comeback special. 5) And Elvis' piano room with a chandelier over it. 6) And Graceland a museum of old belongings like this room. ANGELINA is AMAZING, she brought it! She's ONE IN A MILLION!
rich velvety warm voice. Knows how to tell a story thru song. Besides amazing voice Angelina knows how to bring out the meaning and story of a song, more than any other singer perhaps
I did some minimal research (I watched the Elvis 1968 Comeback Special), and noticed that Elvis MOSTLY played a wide hollow-body, red guitar while he was sitting in his circle of musicians, then BRIEFLY played a thinner red guitar ("maybe" the first couple chords of "Heartbreak Hotel" - the camera didn't show his fingers) for less than a minute around 8:25 into the video. After I posted my observations on Angelina's Official YT channel, Rob C, the "young man on the piano" (and Republic Records Studio Director), replied, "The Red one he used was a Hagstrom, the wider hollow-body was a Gibson. The Hagstrom is just so unique and looks great!!! Seemed right for her. ;-)"
the reference with Angelina's little cousins at the beginning of the song represents Lisa Marie .. since Angelina (Priscilla in this) is singing about being caught and not being able to get out because there's so much love .. About the young man at the piano .. this is Rob Christie, who has won several Grammys and is Angelina's mentor at Republic. He has played for all her studio videos since she came to Republic. He is also the composer of this accompaniment, I believe.
The guitar is a 68’ Hagstrom Viking II approx 1300 made in 67 and 68. Fun fact, the actual guitar did not belong to Elvis. It was lent to him for his 68 comeback performance by a session guitarist working with him on the project. They wanted a guitar to matchup with his leather outfit. It’s my understanding it sold at auction for over $400000 US. Edit: correction $625000 US.
Angelina Jordan on that guitar that’s what he plays in that video you wanna watch by the way got 10 million views Around the world already has been many multiple countries been from Germany France Paris 10vews Norway in Concert
The visuals are wonderful. First she uncovers beautiful old pieces. She is dressed as Elvis on his come back tour with the black leather suit and the red guitar (a Hagstrom). The beehive is like Priscilla wore. Rob Christie, the Grammy winning guy on the piano, is dressed in a red suit like the band did. Her cousins and her sister appearing give me a sense of time passing. The arrangement is great. It is slower and she uses the bridge both as an intro and outro. I loved how she came in with power. Elvis’ cover of Mark James’ original was more upbeat and it gives me a sense of hope that things may turn around and their love will survive. With Angelina she gives me the feeling she is resigned that things cannot go on like this and things must change and while will be will be. Towards the end she turns it into a soft desperate plea. She changes the story around in a way possibly closer to the original meaning. You might need to give it a few listenings to let it grow on you and that is hardly a punishment :-)
I take this as an obvious tribute to Elvis, with the underlying message: “Hail to The King! The King is dead. Now I have arrived. Long live The Queen!” I see the younger girls being AJ growing up to where she now is coming into her own as a budding diva. The dust coming off the covering of the piano indicating that we’re dusting this oldie off and singing it my way to tell the world it’s now my time…the leather outfit and the guitar a bow to Elvis…The hairdo a nod to Priscilla.
hair was Priscilla Presley homage .. I believe first seen at her wedding to Elvis. re: her introduction into music business .. it is possible that her school years are over .. right now she is in Norway doing some concerts .. a Jazz Festival etc.. and I was grateful she left this video for us who couldn't go see her live. Much appreciated .. and stunning. Perhaps those concerts are the start of her "introduction". What I love about the way she did this is that I heard the words better and the tension with partnership was very present .. which is what is about: suspicious minds. I truly enjoyed it. The Elvis' rock n roll version is amazing .. truly .. and i cannot but love his fabulous performer Self - so present and charming and amazing. Very very different these two but i believe Elvis would love Angelina and her version. Elvis is rock n roll ... Angelina. truly, is a Master storyteller .. I can't imagine that anyone would watch this and not really get what the words .. the story .. is saying. Thanks for your reaction, guys .. I always enjoy both of you. Oh, by the way .. the two little ones are Angelina's cousins and the third is Angelina's sister, Juliette. I imagine she's implying that they had Lisa Marie and that is what keeps her unable to leave? .. just guessing .. By the way, Rob Christie is the amazing pianist, Grammy award winner and Angelina's mentor at Republic Records. Fabulous.
I have seen all 170+ videos of Angelina multiple times, so how is it possible that her intro immediately shocks me, gets me in tears.... great reaction. I felt initially similar, "Where is the upbeat section" ? This is because we all remember the original and all covers (they are all similar, except for Fine Young Cannibals). However, once you hear Angelina's rendition twice and more, you fall in love with her version. Vocally, this is 10.0 out of 10. Astounding !
This one hit me as one of the best covers she has ever done and there are quite a few! The gentleman playing the piano is Rob Christie, music director at Republic records. The artistic approach of the video, the accessories, the outfits and the hair, the guitar and the microphone and the Blue suede shoes, and the young cousins and sister. All of it came together to produce some exquisite symbolism. And her voice was stellar. I hope this is a taste of things to come.
LOL! The "young man on the piano" is Rob Christie, multi-Grammy winner, and one of the executives at the Los Angeles division of Republic Records with whom Angelina is signed! He's the same one who has accompanied Angelina on the piano for her covers of "Heal the World," "All I Ask," "Easy on Me," her originals "7th Heaven," "Million Miles," and probably some others.
Hi, guys! One of the main reasons she slows down a song is to give everyone who listens an opportunity to listen to and feel the love in the lyrics of the song. Of course the style she chooses suits her and although she pays homage to the original song and the artist she does make her version of the song very different, indeed. She was marvelous and the set was filled with elements of Elvis all over the place. The piano player is Rob Christie, an executive at Republic Records and he is a multi Grammy Awards winner who has taken Angelina under his wing as she gets closer and closer to be officially introduced to the world. Is there any wonder that he thoroughly enjoys playing for her. He knows she's very special and, remember, up to this time Republic has had to adhere to the families wishes and hold her back until the time is right. Guys, right now she's doing Concerts back in Norway and some video's are out already. Wait till you see Angelina performing! I don't know what the plans were after she finishes her 2022 summer schedule of Concerts but they may have to reconsider their plans because the lid is flying off the pressure cooker and I think the time for her to be heard by everyone in the world is very, very near.
Well said. I am a complete superfan, and as the team around her, feel very protective of her. We must not lose this treasure to commercial interest.. At one point she must reach all listeners of the world. She is reviving music in its purest form. For the first time since way back I can hear a perfect voice without autotune and surplus noice, a voice that hits me emotionally from the first note, and I understand the lyrics & meaning of the song. Even her attire is made for theme. She does her own sketches, so not only a story teller as a singer, b also with art.
The antique shop you gotta take a lot of money to buy slept in an hour because it’s antiques Brea expensive stuff but she still get to use it because it’s her grandmother shop. She bought that when she moved to Los Angeles with Angelina Jordan a Family.
Glad to hear credit to the songwriter....the lyrics are the actual bedrock of this song. Angelina perfectly sings from that perspective, its her genius and the reason it can touch off these deep emotions. Definitely a 10+.
!What a voice....WOW. What a beautyful rendition, so majestic and impeccable. God bless her.. And of course I do apprecite your words concerning Angelina you always accurate, She deserves all the attention due to her incredible talent which IMHO
Hello guys. I'm really happy that you jumped on this one so quickly. AND that you gave it a 10 🤣 I think this is one of her best performances to date. You can hear just how much her voice has matured lately. Her timbre, her sustained low register, her power... you name it. And this video, directed by her grandmother, Mery Zamani, is a masterpiece in its own right. Quite a feat to get all of her three grandchildren in the same video. The two first ones are Angelina's cousins; the daughters of her uncle/manager, the oldest one is her sister, Juliette. Juliette is also turning into a VERY beautiful girl, I really have to say. Obviously some very strong genes running in the family😉 You mentioned her hairdo, the beehive, which is a tribute to Priscilla's hairdo around the time she met Elvis. Then we have Angelina's black leather suit and the red guitar. Both are references to Elvis' 1968 Comeback Special. I have heard rumours that this is THE guitar from that show, which could explain why Angelina treats it like the most delicate china😄 It was auctioned to an Australian buyer for 500.000 USD. Regarding this rendition, I have to say it really made me listen to the lyrics in a different way. Nothing new in that regard. Elvis' version is very upbeat, almost happy, which doesn't really reflect the lyrics all that well IMO. With Angelina however, that all changed. She slowed it down, in true Angelina style, implemented all these small pauses and breaks that we're quite used to hear from her (which by no means is as easy to do as it may sound). She drags somewhat behind the beat, a technique often used in her wheelhouse genre, jazz. That, combined with her beautiful breathy voice, makes you feel connected to the lyrics, as if she is talking to you one on one. At least to ME it does 🙂 I agree that Fine Young Cannibals did a great cover of this, more or less true to the original beat, but in my opinion it really can't compare to the genius demonstrated by Angelina here. It's just on a different level entirely IMO. - COME ON BP2 😂😉 BTW, Angelina just recently came back to Norway for the first time in three years. 2 days ago she performed 2 songs on the same TV show where she performed "What A Difference A Day Makes" when she was 8. The programme is called Allsang På Grensen. Her 2 performances there are very much worth reacting to, at the very least her performance of "I Have Nothing" by Whitney Houston. I know you did react to her performance of the song when she was 12, so that will put things into perspective. Then she will perform at one of the globally most well known jazz festivals, called Kongsberg Jazzfestival. She has also performed here a few times before. Then she will finish her Norway tour off with two concerts on the 7th and 10th of July. I will see her on the July 10th concert, and I'm just like a little child on Xmas eve. Then she goes back to LA before she has a concert in Japan. She speaks Japanese, so that's easy piecy for her 🤣🤣🤣 She has done it before, too. Here in Norway she was interviewed by a Norwegian magazine, and she confirmed that she is hard at work on her upcoming album. She also confirmed that it will contain material that she has written herself. No release date has been confirmed, but I have heard rumours saying that it is due out in August. Don't hold me to it. Angelina just finished high school, so it's pretty dang interesting to see if THIS is the time she will try to make it big. At least, based on the latest stuff I have heard by her, I feel safe that her voice is ready for the wear and tear that goes with it. This are interesting times for any Angelina fans. So interesting that it makes some of them write waaaaay longer comments than they use to (to select reactors I might add 👍) I have a lot more on my mind, but I will shut up. For now. Great to see Angelina back on your channel, guys ! Stay safe and take care. Much love from Norway ♥♥♥
I agree with Les Grey… this is a GREAT comment @poolhallshark! With one minor correction… 😳 Mery Zamani is rightfully proud to feature all FOUR of her grandchildren in this glorious video! 😁🥰 Great reaction BP1 & BP2! 💯 🖤👣
Slight adjustments: Mery was Exec Producer, not Director. Counting Angelina, 4 grandchildren in this video (3 is a subset of 4, so not technically incorrect). I saw an auction report stating the guitar Elvis played sold for $625k. I am curious whether the guitar is only the same model or the actual Elvis concert guitar. Sorry to hear this did not qualify as Bangin’+
I love how Angelina is not only paying tribute to Elvis with her extraordinary vocal performance, but she gives props to Priscilla Presley with the bouffant hair, and his daughter, Lisa Marie, at different stages of her life from toddler on up. What a wonderful rendition, with her outstanding vocals, followed by the beautiful staging (silver and gold, and the dust flying off the piano), and the inclusiveness of daddy's "little girl" all grown up. R.I.P. LMP. Thank you for a great reaction!
No, you won’t get a cover by Angelina that follows the upbeat Elvis version, but this video honors Elvis in many other ways. You mentioned that amazing opening phrase, BP1, where we get a taste of the power, richness, and resonance of today’s Angelina. No breathiness there. And every time Angelina leaned into a note, we could see your reaction. She has so many vocal tools, but she never overuses them. She is a musical storyteller, and her delivery makes the meaning behind the lyrics so clear and poignant.
The guy on the piano is Rob Christie, 2x Grammy winner and owner of the guitar. The former owner of the guitar was Elvis Presley, which he used in his 68 special where the suspicious Mind was introduced. It was a Hagstrom Viking guitar.
Yes , many symbolisms. The hairstyle is what Priscilla Presley wore. The black leather outfit and the red guitar are a tribute to what Elvis wore on his comeback tour. The piano starts as Angelina is removing the dusty cover (dusting old songs). Her baby cousin represents the innocence that we are all born with. Her other cousin running around and looking up represents the curiosity and bewilderment of discovering new things. Her sister Juliette looking regal sitting on an antique chair represents the hope and the dreams of what of what and where she wants to be (The Queen of Music on her Throne). And then Angelina as a 16 years old looking like a rock star as if she is saying.: I arrived and I belong here with the best. These are my interpretations. Regardless, Angelina in my eyes is and has been a Superstar for a very long time. Thank you for your genuine reaction and analysis and I look forward to your next Angelina’s reaction video.
Hair rightly as you said is a tribute to Priscilla Presley “equaliser guitar looks like some type of replica from Elvis Presley‘s 68 comeback special so initially we have the leather suit the beehive hairdo 68 comeback special guitar and a little girl running around would have to be Lisa Elvis‘s daughter..
Also I forgot to mention if you let it all the decor in the antique shop the big chandeliers you can see as you walk through the door at Graceland and the furniture itself is all 70s. I would say’ The whole thing was very well orchestrated call wrong with the song Suspicious Minds’ Absolutely brilliant the way it’s been done.
Angelina never ceases to amaze me, at just how incredibly talented she is, and that she can take her voice to newer levels, we have never heard before.....there is something so special about her ability, to tell the songs story, allowing us to listen with a new perspective, and hear & feel emotions, we may not have heard from the original artist 💖💖💖 Not only her voice, but her delivery is also her gift!
This arrangement was all Angelina, I have no doubt. She is a Master Storyteller. I believe the girls in the video represent Angelina's Journey from infancy to present through the classics of music history. Thus the Antique store, She grew up studying and performing these classics. Did you notice that right foot raise it''s heal to cradle the guitar a couple of times in the performance. I was waiting for her to throw in a little shake to it in homage to the King. Could that have been intentional? That is Rob Christie on piano. Sister Juliette and a couple of Uncle Michael's Babies. I think that makes them cousins not nieces. Full Black Leather Bodysuit, the guitar from his concert in 68 and the hair a homage to Priscilla Presley. Yeah! She cab bring tears to your eyes. Epic. Incredible. There are no words. Epic! Wow, Wow, Wow! Could it be more Beautiful? ♥👣👸🏻🎷 Yeah she doing a Concert in Norway this month! Album to drop soon! So much to look forward to.♥👣👸🏻🎷
Piano played by Rob Cristie, director of studio operations for Republic Records. He has accompanied Angelina on several of her covers. It was no accident that she signed onto Republic Records. The other young lady is her younger sister. The child is uncle Michaels daughter. Uncle Michael is Angelina's agent and manager. Her grandma Meri is listed in the credits and has been Angelina's guide in her musical journey since age 1 1/2, and also is an artist. These people have very carefully protected our gift named Angelina!
Many Elvis fans won't care for this version of Elvis's last number one hit. They will say Elvis was the king of not just rock n roll but the king of covers, always improving on the original. They are welcome to the opinions but there is a new artist who has proven to have the ability to improve on most of the originals she covers. I can't wait for more originals from Angelina on her upcoming album.
I think you're on to something here, Andy, something which makes her covers consistently outstanding in a world of covers ... just take a few examples going back all the way to 'Bang, bang', 'I put a Spell on You', 'California Dreaming', 'Bohemian Rhapsody', 'Wicked Game', all the Adele covers, 'Billie Jean' and many others ... she seems to have the ability to forensically dissect a song, discard the padding and extract the emotional essence. She must look at the lyrics and ask herself, "what's this song REALLY about?" ... R (Australia)
@@branscombeR Even the four performances she did in the Recording Studio at Waldorf School in Oslo showed her talent at age 6/7, especially the wonderful "I who have nothing".
Her Beehive hairdo was an homage to Priscilla. Many photographs of her hair just like that. A Leather outfit he later wore. The guitar is now referred to as the Elvis‘s 1968 “Comeback” Guitar! Rob Christe actually owns this. The two young children are her cousins, her Uncle Michael’s children, the older girl is her sister Juliette. She even had a framed photo of Elvis, at this location.🌺
Many commentators have mentioned this, and it is a nice thought. However, if you scroll up and look at the post of @Dave, he has a more credible view of how it really is.
You guys get a 10 from me on this reaction. I suspect that if BP2 listens to this incredible performance by Angelina a few more times he will come to appreciate it much more.
BP 2 did like it a lot, but he is a little older than bp1 and can more identify with Elvis version . ANGELINAs interpretation is more in keeping with the lyrics than the Elvis version.
Thank you for another excellent and heartfelt reaction to Angelina. As you said, BP 2, the song was written by Mark James. In the Wikipedia entry of the origins of the song, he is said to have remarked "That late one night, he was fooling around on his Fender guitar and using his Hammond organ pedals for a bass line and came up with what he thought was a catchy melody. At the time, he was married to his first wife but still had feelings for his childhood sweetheart, who was married back in Houston. James's wife had suspicions about his feelings. He felt it was a confusing time for him and that all three were "caught in this trap that they could not walk out of." and, in my mind, Angelina's rendition is much truer to the lyrics than any other singer, including Elvis. The children appearing in the video were Angelina's cousins - daughters of her uncle Michael Astar, and then her sister Juliette. I would hazard a guess that they were included to emphasise that children are very important to Angelina and her family. Confession! I have never been a great fan of Elvis Presley, although I do like some of his earlier recordings, and I had never heard of the song "Suspicious minds" but knew that Angelina would completely take ownership of it, and she did. It was beautiful. After listening to it several times, I decided to download the lyrics to see whether she kept to the original structure. She didn't, and the song is all the better for it. I paste below the order in which Angelina sung the verses. "Suspicious minds" Angelina Jordan - lyrics rearranged. (1) Oh let our love survive I'll dry the tears from your eyes Let's don't let a good thing die When honey, you know I've never lied to you (2) We're caught in a trap I can't walk out Because I love you too much baby (3) Why can't you see What you're doing to me When you don't believe a word I say? (4) We can't go on together With suspicious minds And we can't build our dreams On suspicious minds (5) So, if an old friend I know Stops by to say hello Would I still see suspicion in your eyes? (6) Here we go again Asking where I've been You can't see these tears are real I'm crying (Yes, I'm crying) (7) We can't go on together With suspicious minds And we can't build our dreams On suspicious minds (8) Oh let our love survive I'll dry the tears from your eyes Let's don't let a good thing die When honey, you know I've never lied to you
have you ever seen a video of a new fighter jet roll out with the whole factory and engineers standing by with huge grins of pride at the reveal of their 'baby" ? That is what I see when on the faces of Angelina reactors as she steps up to the microphone.
It's the same place as she did My funny Valentine. Suspicious mind song by Angelina is one of the best covers I ever heard of her. And vocally she's very mature I think. Really beautiful.
As an AJ fan, it's not unusual for many of us her devoted fans to wait for the reactions of our favourite reactors, some a little impatiently 😊. I looked at both your faces on the opening note - had to play it twice to. catch both - and it was gratifying to. catch your expressions. I have watched this several times already, and every time, every single time, that opening note brings a lump to my throat. Just seeing your faces told me everything I needed to know. 😊. That said, as always, lots of enlightening information - like the fact that King of rock and roll was not a songwriter - that gives me reason to look forward to your reactions. Cheers, and thank you!
@Srikanth Srinivas Hello and always nice to read your comments too and know you are still enjoying what we do. We hear there are some new songs from Angelina's concert in Norway, we will look to follow up with those soon. All the best.
the red guitar is actually one of Elvis's, the black leather suit she's wearing is paying respect to Elvis, her hair is like Priscilla's and the red suit of the piano player is also an homage to Elvis because his band mostly wore red.
Whenever I hear Angelina it's a welcome change from all those auto-tuned productions that appear on the radio every day. Her voice is so smooth on the ears.
The way to listen to Angelina is with enough quality sound system that the entirety of her exquisite taste comes through crystal clear. When I listen with my phone or lap top and no ear phones it's great . With my TV sound bar system, car system or earphones the the impact is why she is the greatest of all time.
I'm 67 and I was never a big Elvis fan growing up, but my mother was. She played his songs all the time when my Dad wasn't home. LOL It was the same for me with the Beatles, never really a big fan, but Angelina has re-invented songs by both of these artists and others, and made me a fan of the songs. Like BP1, I enjoyed this way more than Elvis's cover, and feel it is one of her best. Way to come around, (or give in) BP2, with that 10 score. 😁 Keep up the great work guys.
@Gary Rogers Always nice to hear from you GMan. I did enjoy Angelina's version and the whole tribute was very well done. I do like the Fine Young Cannibals version though.😁 Have a great day
Absolutely what I expected. She made this her own song and she did it beautifully. I noticed Juliet sitting there she is going to be as beautiful as Angelina one day. Elvis' version is great and it always was, and it still is one of my favorites. but Angelina's version is equally great and is definitely her own. When I first heard this song I loved it and put it at #3 on my playlist (Angelina Jordan Playlist by Terry M.), about midday I moved it up to #1. The main thing that changed my mind was the power in her voice. I'm not talking about loudness I'm talking about the power she has regardless of how loud or soft she sings. This is a quality that I haven't heard from anyone in my 82 years. This voice has become so unique that it is totally unmatched. Her phrasing in the last bridge is great. And she got Elvis’s ‘Oh Yea’ at the end of the song. The pianist is Rob Christie (3 Grammes), he is the head of the Republic Record department that is responsible for Angelina and other singers. The two small kids are her uncle Mike's kids, and the older girl is Angelina's sister. 🙂
NEWS! NEWS! Angelina just dropped a new cover of I have nothing studio version in black-and-white you need to check that out OMG !!!!!!!! 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Mirrors 🪞 to Angelina’s soul ..:.: absolutely beautiful, I’ve watched this over & over Elvis would be so Proud ,,, Freddie standing there saying beautiful darling…. finally someone doing Justice to our songs Welcome Elvis to Angelina world..::( that’s what I like to imagine) imo .::: Great reaction guys
Sometimes I don't like Angelina's new material on the first go around but then it begins its inevitable growth on me. This song was different. I put it in my top 5 immediately (along with 50 other AJ songs). They spent some time creating the symbolic environment. Very cool it was. Masterful work BP1 and BP2. You always make the music more real.
The new stuff is always unquestionable in vocal difficulty and execution. She's incredible, and with that incredible voice. But I couldn't agree more. I don't know if it is too good, she hits like a truck, or what the issue is. But it takes time to get through it all, get used to it and soak it all in as a fluid performance. Also agree that this one in particular, while having that same issue, was obviously going to be a favorite. From the first note. Lots of layers and depth to soak in lots say. I think I also just get stuck on something amazing and miss a few seconds here and there. I had assumed her substance and depth and layers to her vocals were just difficult to catch all of on her recent covers that were not slowed down much, if at all in tempo. That's why we're catching new nuances 30 times in. Same depth, same perfection, condensed and quicker. But this was very much slowed down and I still couldn't do it. Though notably got the gist of it quicker. I also think we may be smitten and listening harder and deeper than ever before, and need to hear all the nuance like we've never needed too. Cheering for her as a person or kid, as much as as an artist. Such fanatics. Maybe full credit, just that good, her being a good kid wouldn't be taking credit from her anyway, just unsure on my biases. I can't say anyone can add that much flavor to every word and note in as pleasant a way, and fans say she is quite a story teller, captivator. Maybe all of it. Career and voice wise, this is where we find out a lot about where her story goes, so we're hyper analyzing maybe and super curious and hopeful. However this works I assume she is the best to ever do it, already, at 16, and I'm glad I had over a year to do some catching up and soaking in before she puts out the record of originals.
@@ryanjacob3338 Ryan, an insightful analysis of the "Angelina Effect". So much of what you've written seems accurate and rather profound. For example, I'm at a place with Angelina that, while I don't understand why the last note that Angelina sings is included, I know that it must be needed because Angelina did it.
Wonderful reaction! Tens all around. Her voice is iconic now. And word is her album will be coming later this year. She's performing a concert series in Norway right now, so you might want to check out some of that, a few on TH-cam.
Love your reaction. If you want to be more amazed you should react to her cover in one of her new concerts in Norway of the song Mount Everest. For me the best recording is from Mattias Axelsson. Her head voice there is unbelievable beautiful!!!😍😍😍
The young man on the piano is 2 time Grammy winner Rob Christie, presently republic records studio director, also former owner of robo records. Grandma produced video the little girls are Angelina’s two cousins and sister Juliette. Mery never misses a chance to film her grandchildren. When patreon sent the notification of this video said her grandma and mom did the set. I think when it comes to the Astar family, you’re dealing with three perfectionist, they always seem to go the extra mile, up until Angelina was 11 years old she always wore white and in most videos with flowers, I’m not sure but the shot when she’s sitting with the boots on the inside of them are blue suede. Like Angelina’s singing and dress every detail is very well thought out before execution. In an interview with channel 2 in Norway today she said she’s almost ready to release her album, and she’s been working very hard writing the songs for it.
Angelina is still in high school, should be final year (not 100% sure) after this break. It is their family wish to have her finish school first, that may be the reason not much promotion from RR yet, but wait till she finishes high school and they press the "GO" button.
jane There were no blue suede shoes! You're probably referring to the light and shadows when she was reclining on the sofa which many people think make her shoes seem blue.....The blue suede shoes which Elvis wore are brogues with laces; not ankle boots with a high heel... Go to the original video, full screen and change the playback settings to .5. Notice the boots when she walks into the store and again at :21 before she pulls the sheet off the piano. Can you now see that they're silver boots?
The song was originally written by Mark James and even released it has his song in 1968. However, the song bombed for him and Elvis [of course] ran with it a year later. Thanks for the reaction gents!
The younger kids are her nieces and the older is her sister. Her grandma produced the video so I’m sure she wanted to get her grandkids in this. If you check out Elvis’ 68 comeback tour you will see the black leather outfit and the identical red guitar. AJ’s ‘do is pure Pricilla. A full tribute indeed. Also note the “blue suede boots while she relaxed on the couch. 😀
She sang live at Norwegian tv two days ago(tv2) She sang «Bohemian rapsody» and «I have nothing» Search for «Allsang på grensen 2022» and «Angelina», and u will find it😍 Fun to see here back in this show that She have been singing years ago. Good to see her back in her motherland. 4 years has gone since she move to LA.
Hi there - i watched it now about 30 Times in a row from her channel and now jump from one reaction to the next and always be able to see her again - oh man i hope she will do this song on her last concert where i will be screeming like a Teenager if not fade out when seeing her enter the stage - i am so proud of her feel mooved and am overwhealmed by the sheer beauty of her music and the outstandig Video production with little Cousins Athena and Aurora and sis Juliette represanting her live in stages always sourrounded by classic influence and full of love for it until today - she brings beautiful music from the days to all Generations who are willing to listen with her emoting love and feeling her skill and Interpretation love you guys god bless and protect you
I got chills on her first note. The whole production is a poignant homage to Elvis. Angelina does what she does, she read the lyrics and saw a sad and tragic song about a relationship that was falling apart. So she sang it that way. But she went beyond that. The video is a sad tribute to Elvis, the sheet over the old piano covered in dust, the look she has, the guitar. (is it really THE guitar? Wow, wouldn't that be something! ) Juliette and her little cousins could be seen as Angelina's lost childhood. It's about how the past is gone, Elvis forgotten, like the piano. Rob Christie (on piano as usual) has one Grammy award already, with Angelina he could get another one. Get the album out, promote this song, and Angelina as Best New Artist. It's entirely doable, and Republic Records knows how to do it
Elvis's wife wore her hair like that that's a truly to his wife and Elvis has a red guitar like that and Elvis when he first started he was heavy into leather the barefooted princess did not disappoint she was 16 when she did this video 👣👣👣👣👣👣👣👣👣👣👣👣👣
Hello BP1 AND BP2, Gentlemen, I always enjoy your reactions to our BAREFOOT ANGEL. She is now in Norway for her concerts and 2 of the songs she sung at her first appearance on a festival, it looks like, are on TH-cam. Her latest cover of Whitney Houston's I Have Nothing and Bohemian Rhapsody, her version that she did on America's Got Talent. Hope you get to react to them soon. Thank you always for supporting AJ and we ANGELS, will continue to support your channel as well. 😇😇😇💖💖💖🌺🌺🌺

Hi Guy's....This girl is a genuis...simple as that...
From an Irishman in Dublin.
She looks a bit like Lisa Marie in this video. She is my favorite what a gift..
The piano player is a two- time Grammy winner & is with Republic Records📌
You 2 cool chaps gotta review Angelina Jordan jamming with her band to Portrait of a Child, she was 8 !
9.
rich velvety warm voice. Knows how to tell a story thru song. Besides amazing voice Angelina knows how to bring out the meaning and story of a song, more than any other singer perhaps
Ya’s are Spot On!! About her & The Critique is Wonderful gents!! Thankyou for what you both bring! I Appreciate Ya’s So Much!!!!👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I did some minimal research (I watched the Elvis 1968 Comeback Special), and noticed that Elvis MOSTLY played a wide hollow-body, red guitar while he was sitting in his circle of musicians, then BRIEFLY played a thinner red guitar ("maybe" the first couple chords of "Heartbreak Hotel" - the camera didn't show his fingers) for less than a minute around 8:25 into the video.
She wanted a year transition before the pace picked up. She has always been self- directed. Remember, she will be international.
Angelina Jordan just passed one million views of Suspicious Minds song, ,5 hours ago, 07-20-2022.
I Love ❤️ you 2.
Love this arrangement and she is a beautiful singer
Keep up the good work
The guitar is a 68’ Hagstrom Viking II approx 1300 made in 67 and 68.
Rob Christie posted on his Instagram that it is his guitar.
Rob Christie Grammy tTwo times
Angelina Jordan on that guitar that’s what he plays in that video you wanna watch by the way got 10 million views
Around the world already has been many multiple countries been from Germany France Paris 10vews
Norway in Concert
The guitar was momentarily exchanged with Elvis’s Gibson J-200 acoustic , just for a couple of songs while Elvis played electric.
That’s the same guitar… He had to come back Song it’s worth $600,000 she owns it
The visuals are wonderful.
1967 Hagstrom Viking II
I take this as an obvious tribute to Elvis, with the underlying message: “Hail to The King! The King is dead. Now I have arrived. Long live The Queen!”
I see the younger girls being AJ growing up to where she now is coming into her own as a budding diva. The dust coming off the covering of the piano indicating that we’re dusting this oldie off and singing it my way to tell the world it’s now my time…the leather outfit and the guitar a bow to Elvis…The hairdo a nod to Priscilla.
Great job agian!!! Love your life always 🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋
hair was Priscilla Presley homage ..
Fabulous.
She sign Republic records at 14 reviews of her song funny Valentine others in the same company
Heard this over and over. Still not getting tired of it. Better version that Elvis, imho.
Hell she’s got 350 million views on her TH-cam channel
This one hit me as one of the best covers she has ever done and there are quite a few! The gentleman playing the piano is Rob Christie, music director at Republic records. The artistic approach of the video, the accessories, the outfits and the hair, the guitar and the microphone and the Blue suede shoes, and the young cousins and sister. All of it came together to produce some exquisite symbolism. And her voice was stellar. I hope this is a taste of things to come.
Elvis is in love again.
I don't know what the plans were after she finishes her 2022 summer schedule of Concerts but they may have to reconsider their plans because the lid is flying off the pressure cooker and I think the time for her to be heard by everyone in the world is very, very near.
q
@Robert DeMartin
Thanks for all the information Robert, we will be sure to check out some of the new videos from her Norway concert.
All the best
@@Marie-wv6sp very well said Marie...i agree wholeheartedly
- COME ON BP2 😂😉
BTW, Angelina just recently came back to Norway for the first time in three years.
So interesting that it makes some of them write waaaaay longer comments than they use to (to select reactors I might add 👍)
I have a lot more on my mind, but I will shut up. For now. Great to see Angelina back on your channel, guys ! Stay safe and take care. Much love from Norway ♥♥♥
You deserve an award for the best ever comment!
@@lesgray9533 WOW! I appreciate that. Thanks a lot my friend 🙂
I agree with Les Grey… this is a GREAT comment @poolhallshark! With one minor correction… 😳 Mery Zamani is rightfully proud to feature all FOUR of her grandchildren in this glorious video! 😁🥰
Great reaction BP1 & BP2! 💯

@@peterhormell1511 good spot.
Slight adjustments:
Mery was Exec Producer, not Director.
This is genuine voice!!!!
Natural Natural Natural voice!!!!
MAGICAL RENDITION!!!!
OMG!!!
INSANE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It’s not Amy Whinehouse, it’s a tribute to Priscilla Presley
she is good
No, you won’t get a cover by Angelina that follows the upbeat Elvis version, but this video honors Elvis in many other ways.
Hi, I enjoyed your video. That's great. Thank you🎁💞😆
two little girls are cousins and bigger girl her sister ,great reaction again
That voice is filling out nicely! On the cusp of Global superstardom!
The guy on the piano is Rob Christie, 2x Grammy winner and owner of the guitar. The former owner of the guitar was Elvis Presley, which he used in his 68 special where the suspicious Mind was introduced. It was a Hagstrom Viking guitar.
The guitar is a Hagstrom Viking. It's a Swedish brand but probably made in Asia nowadays. Nothing custom about it.
Hair rightly as you said is a tribute to Priscilla Presley “equaliser guitar looks like some type of replica from Elvis Presley‘s 68 comeback special so initially we have the leather suit the beehive hairdo 68 comeback special guitar and a little girl running around would have to be Lisa Elvis‘s daughter..
john And Rob Christie (pianist) wearing the crimson suit that matched Elvis' bandmates at the 68 comeback special.
Yeah she doing a Concert in Norway this month! Album to drop soon! So much to look forward to.♥👣👸🏻🎷
A masterpiece! That voice!😀🙏💫❤️
Good job guys.
Interesting good information 👊👍🏻
It's elvises famous red guitar. He had on his comeback tour. Piano player is Rob Christi republic records director.
(1) Oh let our love survive
I'll dry the tears from your eyes
Let's don't let a good thing die
When honey, you know I've never lied to you
(2) We're caught in a trap
I can't walk out
Because I love you too much baby
(3) Why can't you see
What you're doing to me
When you don't believe a word I say?
(4) We can't go on together
With suspicious minds
And we can't build our dreams
On suspicious minds
(5) So, if an old friend I know
Stops by to say hello
Would I still see suspicion in your eyes?
(6) Here we go again
Asking where I've been
You can't see these tears are real
I'm crying
(Yes, I'm crying)
(7) We can't go on together
With suspicious minds
And we can't build our dreams
On suspicious minds
(8) Oh let our love survive
I'll dry the tears from your eyes
Let's don't let a good thing die
When honey, you know I've never lied to you
Angelina Jordan Astar, for me she is the best singer of the last 50 years. Her voice touches my heart and cleanses my soul.
Hello BP1 BP2
AJ was playing Elvis Presley 1968 come back Guitar 🎸
have you ever seen a video of a new fighter jet roll out with the whole factory and engineers standing by with huge grins of pride at the reveal of their 'baby" ?
That is what I see when on the faces of Angelina reactors as she steps up to the microphone.
It's the same place as she did My funny Valentine. Suspicious mind song by Angelina is one of the best covers I ever heard of her. And vocally she's very mature I think. Really beautiful.
The guitar is a Hagstrom 67 Viking.
Makes a person wonder what's her voice going to sound like at 20,25 30 and beyond we are all in for the best vocals ever to present itself to us.
Tears running down my face! Stunning! ❤️
@Srikanth Srinivas
Hello and always nice to read your comments too and know you are still enjoying what we do.
Elvis and Priscilla: Angelina to her mother! looks like a teen being questioned in seat after coming home late!!
Great reaction to a brilliant release!
Great reaction! Thanks.
@Gary Rogers
Always nice to hear from you GMan.
I did enjoy Angelina's version and the whole tribute was very well done.
I do like the Fine Young Cannibals version though.😁
Have a great day
Her recent Happy Valentine She was awesome. Recorded in Feb this year.
🙂
Her emotions in this is awesome! How does she do this?
This song puts everyone in a trance it is one of her best of course she has so so many she is unbelievable what ever she sing she is a gift
Our angel Angelina is simply the best...
NEWS!
The piano player is a 3 time Grammy winner. 🇺🇲😎👍💯🌟
Rob Christie, Studio Director for Republic Records. Interestingly, he was born the same year Elvis had his big "comeback" special--1968.
Top quality reaction video guys, Angelina being icing on the cake, and there's no better icing.
The guitar is a Hagstrom Viking. You should look it up along with its ties to Elvis and to Rob Christie.
Cheers Jeffrey 🎸
Well, actually I dont like Angelina J, to me she sounds good on some songs but I dont like the arranges of her songs, sorry 🎵
Genius to use the bridge as the intro and outro, and especially with the mystical arrangement that Rob Christie plays, a blending of two perfections!
Producers want to change the way she approaches things and she said no she does all her own arrangements of her songs
Made me smile thanks guys.....
Her voice had matured. Very nice.
Angelina is still in high school, should be final year (not 100% sure) after this break. It is their family wish to have her finish school first, that may be the reason not much promotion from RR yet, but wait till she finishes high school and they press the "GO" button.
I think Angelina graduate early 16 now
Check out her Blue Suede shoes....when she's sitting on sofa.
jane There were no blue suede shoes!
The young man on the piano is two time Grammy winning, music producer and head of Republic Records, Rob Christie
graham And 54 years old.
Her interpretation of this classic song is immaculate
The younger kids are her nieces and the older is her sister. Her grandma produced the video so I’m sure she wanted to get her grandkids in this. If you check out Elvis’ 68 comeback tour you will see the black leather outfit and the identical red guitar. AJ’s ‘do is pure Pricilla. A full tribute indeed. Also note the “blue suede boots while she relaxed on the couch. 😀
Small correction: the younger girls are Angelina's cousins, not nieces ... they are her uncle Michael's children. R (Australia)
@@branscombeR You are certainly correct; my bad!
It's entirely doable, and Republic Records knows how to do it
Ro Christie has won Grammy 2 times already :-)
@Tom Hemmer
Mice comment Tom and some great information too.
Cheers
@@mathias61 better than I thought. AJ is with the right people
@@BritPopsReact I can do cat comments too

Hello BP1 AND BP2, Gentlemen, I always enjoy your reactions to our BAREFOOT ANGEL. She is now in Norway for her concerts and 2 of the songs she sung at her first appearance on a festival, it looks like, are on TH-cam. Her latest cover of Whitney Houston's I Have Nothing and Bohemian Rhapsody, her version that she did on America's Got Talent. Hope you get to react to them soon. Thank you always for supporting AJ and we ANGELS, will continue to support your channel as well. 😇😇😇💖💖💖🌺🌺🌺
