Liz, I have been following Angelina for almost 4 years now. I have never heard a bad song, and going through time, every performance was as good as the next. Of course her voice developed over time and became more mature, as did her technique. But something immeasurable and unexplainable seems to have happened with this song and performance! The only way I can put it into words is that she evolved from a rising star to a superstar almost overnight! This performance was epic and legendary and I don't think will be forgotten soon by anyone. I heard that it was trending on TH-cam! It was Angelina's vocals and guitar, and the piano and the setting and the attire, and the little girls all coming together to create something larger than Life. Liz , in my humble opinion this is not just a cover of Elvis's last #1 hit , it is a fitting tribute to the King himself ! The leather pantsuit and red guitar are straight from Elvis's 1968 comeback tour and the hairstyle is how his wife Priscilla wore her hair at the time . The 3 young children were representative of Angelina's growth through the years . The two youngest were her Uncle Mike's children and the oldest was of course her sister Juliette . Also the video was executively produced by her Grandma Mery . It is always a family affair with this amazingly talented young lady. No one does it better than The Barefoot Princess !!

Liz, I hope you're feeling better. Listening to Angelina is surely one way to make that happen. Liz, if you didn't say a word your reaction was something that I felt in my heart. I recently saw a video of Elvis singing this live and it was great. Then I saw Angelina do her version, to me a tribute to Elvis, and she created a whole other song. And, my goodness, we have to acknowledge the contribution Rob Christie adds to the video's when they appear together. Angelina needs to feel very comfortable with whomever is playing for her, a guitarist, a pianist, a band or even an orchestra. You can tell she is very comfortable with Rob and we can only imagine the joy he is getting playing for Angelina. He is an executive at Republic Records and a multi Grammy Award winner who has played with scores of great performers. I bet he would make a great interview. Liz, sleep is always the best remedy. Falling asleep listening to Angelina is close to being in paradise.

It is hard to say anyone is better than Elvis, but in my opinion, in this song, her interpretation of the lyrics and the execution of this arrangement is so perfect, that no one could do any better including Elvis himself. Absolutely what I expected. She made this her own song and she did it beautifully. I noticed Juliet sitting there she is going to be as beautiful as Angelina one day. Elvis' version is great and it always was, and it still is one of my favorites. but Angelina's version is equally great and is definitely her own. When I first heard this song I loved it and put it at #3 on my playlist (Angelina Jordan Playlist by Terry M.), about midday I moved it up to #1. The main thing that changed my mind was the power in her voice. I'm not talking about loudness I'm talking about the power she has regardless of how loud or soft she sings. This is a quality that I haven't heard from anyone in my 82 years. This voice has become so unique that it is totally unmatched. The pianist is Rob Christie (3 Grammes), he is the head of the Republic Record department that is responsible for Angelina and other singers. The two small kids are her uncle Mike's kids, and the older girl is Angelina's sister. 🙂

I love his voice so powerful, warm and delicate at the same time and I keep moving, every time. Angelina has always been wonderfully engaging, but now her voice gets warmer and deeper each time and her slower version of this iconic song is truly fantastic, for me much closer to the emotion of the lyrics than Elvis's version. 💛🧡❤️
I can see the record company is being very careful to keep her voice front and center and not to much embellishment. That opening line is the most beautifully warm, solid, and grounded voice ive ever heard. She sang this pretty straight with no vocal fry and reserved two note runs. I recently saw a video of Elvis singing this live and it was great. Then I saw Angelina do her version, to me a tribute to Elvis, and she created a whole other song.
And, my goodness, we have to acknowledge the contribution Rob Christie adds to the video's when they appear together. Angelina needs to feel very comfortable with whomever is playing for her, a guitarist, a pianist, a band or even an orchestra. You can tell she is very comfortable with Rob and we can only imagine the joy he is getting playing for Angelina. He is an executive at Republic Records and a multi Grammy Award winner who has played with scores of great performers. I bet he would make a great interview.
Liz, sleep is always the best remedy. Falling asleep listening to Angelina is close to being in paradise.
I will say something that none of the many thousands of comments to this song have dared to say. As for this song if I have the choice to listen to Elvis or Angelina, I would have actually chosen Angelina's cover version. I know it's swearing in church. But this is now my opinion.

It is hard to say anyone is better than Elvis, but in my opinion, in this song, her interpretation of the lyrics and the execution of this arrangement is so perfect, that no one could do any better including Elvis himself. It is also worth noting that after all kinds of experimentation as she grew up over the last couple of years she seems to have found a consistent style she is comfortable with that seems a blending of classical jazz and modern R&B and distinctly Angelina.

What a rendition! Her Grandma Mery produced this. Looks like she used the same store she used for her My Funny Valentine video! Her sister Juliette was the older girl. The 2 younger girls are her Uncle Mike's kids, and, 2 time Grammy winner Rob Christie on piano. What a great cover! The beehive hairstyle was to honor Priscilla Presley and the time period she met Elvis. She had the red guitar and the black outfit! I was not expecting this! This was almost 4 minutes, but it flew by and felt short! Going to listen to it again! 16 years old….Wow!!! What a performance! Hope you feel better!
I'm sitting here in tears, I envy Rob that he gets to play for AJ, I can't believe I can't be at their concerts in Norway, and I envy everyone who gets to experience that and of course I wish you a wonderful one experience for you participants. This cover is incredible and it shows what wonderful things are to come in the future. Protect her because she is the treasure of all of us. Now add the album and I'm the happiest person in the whole universe.

When she opened her mouth with the first word, I about jumped out of my chair. I think I have already listened to this one forty or Fifty times. I try and share it with anyone who will listen.
Absolutely what I expected. She made this her own song and she did it beautifully. I noticed Juliet sitting there she is going to be as beautiful as Angelina one day.
Elvis' version is great and it always was, and it still is one of my favorites. but Angelina's version is equally great and is definitely her own.
When I first heard this song I loved it and put it at #3 on my playlist (Angelina Jordan Playlist by Terry M.), about midday I moved it up to #1. The main thing that changed my mind was the power in her voice. I'm not talking about loudness I'm talking about the power she has regardless of how loud or soft she sings. This is a quality that I haven't heard from anyone in my 82 years. This voice has become so unique that it is totally unmatched.
The pianist is Rob Christie (3 Grammes), he is the head of the Republic Record department that is responsible for Angelina and other singers.
The two small kids are her uncle Mike's kids, and the older girl is Angelina's sister.

Fantastic reaction Liz! I understand you very well, five days after the publication of this little masterpiece, I can't stop listening to it, it's absolutely fascinating and exciting. I love his voice so powerful, warm and delicate at the same time and I keep moving, every time. Angelina has always been wonderfully engaging, but now her voice gets warmer and deeper each time and her slower version of this iconic song is truly fantastic, for me much closer to the emotion of the lyrics than Elvis's version. 💛🧡❤️
I can see the record company is being very careful to keep her voice front and center and not to much embellishment. That opening line is the most beautifully warm, solid, and grounded voice ive ever heard. She sang this pretty straight with no vocal fry and reserved two note runs. She’s right on the edge of contralto in this. Her voice feels like the sweater grandma made for you that you never want to take off.
