Walter's brother here. Talked to 'the old man' tonight. Dad's words.... "Unbelievable", "I feel like a new man", "Making such a difference".
Beyond words the impact this technique and time has on dad's health and well-being. I must repeat that. The time Walter spends working on dad every day is restoring a quality of life no one expected.
    Simply amazing!!

My health is really good, i am 53, swim in the icecold scottish sea everyday, eat healthy, but had a very rough year last year as my man took his own life. I enjoyed hearing Walter's experience. The foot work really resonates with me. I've been practicing with the block on and off for a couple of years. Lately I find I don't want to lay down on the floor to do the work. Once morning a couple of weeks ago, I decided to use it on my feet in the mornings while standing and watching videos. Within one week, I could see that my face looked different (and better). I remember Deanna talking about the body's foundation and how what you work on "affects everything up the chain." This has really encouraged me to continue and to not be afraid of getting creative with it.

Very good info. The feet along with our chin are the key to the door for our posture. Lift your chin, and see your walking mode, and posture style change. This is a refraction point which well go most of the way towards fixing lower back issues so you can walk as if on the catwalk, but without needing the heels man or woman. Then you can fall in love with walking.

If you do not have a Block, this video here has a couple of exercises that you can do daily at home:

I started this approach on Monday, doing my belly (and diaphragmatic breathing), feet and hands (including between the toes and fingers). I added the ribs after noticing pains signals while working on my belly. I noticed my posture is remarkably better (I'm 57 with scoliosis) and I am aware my feet are properly aligned. Fruit: my posture is improved without effort. My movement is freer. I hopped out of bed this morning sure-footed as opposed to shuffling fearful of losing balance. One thing I did add was, after blocking, castor oil to the treated area. It's great for moving stagnated lymph (my understanding). Thank you for bringing this into the world. ❤

This popped up on my TH-cam channel today. I’ve been following block therapy here and there for at least a year or so. I got interested because you were talking about fascia, which is what I work with as a massage therapist, reflexologist, holistic health coach, fitness trainer and more, the learning continues. It was great to hear Walter’s story about his finding the connection between the feet and the rest of the body. I have been working with the feet since I began my massage practice, and for the past 12 years have really focused on the feet since finding five finger Vibram’s after reading about them in the book, Born To Run. I personally have been experiencing a real significant connection between the toes and the entire rest of the body and the matrix of fascia that connects it all right down to the tip of the toes and the tip of the fingers. I've used PVC pipe, yoga blocks, Wool dryer balls, stair steps, yoga toes and more to continue releasing deeper layers of tissue. There are layers of stuff!!! Thank you Deanna for doing what you do. Looking forward to learning more.
The footing is one of the most important pieces of a foundation.

I just saw a podcast prior to this. The demonstration showed a block, maybe a yoga block. Basically you stand on the block for 3 minutes. Also interlacing your fingers into your toes and hold for 3 minutes. Since our feet are strangled in our shoes these two types of FC stretches should open the circulation and immediately feel much better. Do that everyday

Place your fingers between your toes while applying pressure into the webbing. If you can't reach your toes use the handle of a wooden spoon, or thin wooden dowel. Put enough pressure so you start to feel the pain, but not so much that you can't breathe comfortably. Hold for 3 minutes.

A body worker once said he always starts with the feet , because that is the bodies foundation.. Also the toes and fingers ends are a points where energy related to tension and blocked emotions exit the body. There is a body worker called brandon raynor in Australia who uses chopsticks to open up these points, they are painful, but its like an energetic choke point where energy is jammed up, its pseudo science, but it looks like its been around in other cultures for a long time and seems to work for brandon and his clients. This very interesting to me as i am starting to stiffen up at 60.. Just thinking all these data points can be combined for even more results. This block therapy is just what i been looking for, we must be able to heal without spending tonnes on thrapists. Many thanks for this super informative video. I definitely following this up this week on the website.

Hi there: Im amazed at watching one of your videos and I tried putting pressure between my toes on each foot for 30 seconds each. Two hours later I can walk on my feet. I had severe pain in my feet, they felt like paddles.
My feet have "severe" osteoarthritis on the top of my feet with big bumps from my bones deformed. My toes are deformed from severe bunions that have deformed my toes. I used to do jumping jacks several years ago, and that helped my feet. But today after two hours I can walk on my feet.
I have bad posture. I have a slight sciatic pain and back pain and must go to the chiropractor every so often. And Ive gained 40 lbs! I want to be healthy again.
What is this? Will your book describe everything? I saw pictures of people on blocks on the side of their hips. Is that part of your book? Im 65 and I dont want to deteriorate!
Thank you to Walter for his testimony! And thank you to you for exposing this "almost miracle therapy"....so simple but oh so effective!

I think its just using something hard like a block or a hard ball to gently compress the tissues in the feet, this sustained compression releases the tension in the facia tissue and allows blood flow and maybe stimulates meridians. I been trying it, and my feet feel much better.

Hi! For Walter, he did a combination of the full practice of Block Therapy (which you can get started with here: blocktherapy.com/starer-package-store/), and working between the toes with a simple pencil. Pressure over time can slowly melt the adhesions in the fascia, much like a massage but less rubbing and more so just still pressure. I hope this clarifies! Around 12.40 mark you mentioned about the guy who was paralyzed on one side of body and because of his post in the group you gave it a go!!!
Well today i had a patient who had numb feet to the shin area for last 15 years, she mentioned she had neuropathy!!!
Well i had no clue until last 5 minutes!
I would typically do other things that took about 30 minutes ans I always do lymphatic from the feet in same area, but i remember reading the post a week ago, amd said to myself i have very limited time.
Within first 45 seconds she mentioned how painful it was and was surprised to have any feelings at all!!!
After the 5 minutes, she got up and the numb feeling was very little .first time in 15 years.
    We both was very shocked!
So i will be adding 10 minutes of this in almost all my sessions.
I typically do these areas any ways.
Normally no more than 2 minutes for all toes, because of the pain.
But since what i experience today, everyone will need to enjoy this pain.
    I was very excited!!!!!!

Hi there! Don't give up hope! Start with the toe work. Here is a quick lessen on what to do! Place your fingers between your toes while applying pressure into the webbing. If you can't reach your toes use the handle of a wooden spoon, or thin wooden dowel. Put enough pressure so you start to feel the pain, but not so much that you can't breathe comfortably. Hold for 3 minutes. Do this between all toes, and do the work daily.
