    Denzel took “gifts” to that house as payment to carry out a hit on Ethan’s character. He needed him gonna bcuz he was a liability for not going along with the shotgun scene killing that dealer on the couch. When the two were sitting in the car and Denzel say chess not checkers. This is also why Denzel made him smoke the laced weed. It’s all a test to see if Ethan is down or not and when Denzel discovers what kind of cop he truly is he takes him to the Mexican house to get rid of him.

  • @ErnestoMercer
    @ErnestoMercer หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Alonzo didn’t just “leave him there to die” he set him up to be murdered. He wasn’t going to leave any witnesses. They were going to r*** him too. Alonzo wasn’t doing that because he wasn’t with the shenanigans, he was prepared to murder him from jump: at breakfast. The thing about Alonzo & how Denzel plays him is that you start to believe in him, to agree with him & then you have to rationalize your support from him & then you get it: he was always the bad guy. You saw all day how everyone hated him & thought it was because he was an effective if unorthodox cop. Then you realized that they were like that because he he was a problem for everyone. If you had run into him that day just walking by he’d have pulled you into his scheme with his badge & willingness to break the rules. At the end he still tries to talk his way out of it to manipulate it, but his power is broken. He died knowing it. Great character. & then training day was over. That’s it. It’s over. Denzel was great. Ethan Hawke low key was too. He’s been in plenty of good movies too.

    Going back to Joe pesci, his last mob movie with DeNiro is, The Irisman. But he's done great comedies, a homeless bum at Harvard, and comedy gold in the lethal weapon all 4 movies, gone fishing with Danny Glover, and the masterclass My cousin Vinny!!

    Ethan Hawke’s character doing the right thing stopping the girl from getting assaulted is what saved him in the end. Had he became dirty he would have died.

    The good cop, bad routine.
    Who wins?
    Good cop
    The bad cop was a corrupted cop. Cops can be corrupted and even if they started as a good cop , the lust of power can corrupt a person if they do not stay humble. Same thing with anything in this world. Stay humble and get to close to God.

    ... excellent movie. And the one thing I can never understand is Denzel gets the money he needs and instead of paying off the Russians he immediately wanna go get a piece of 🍑 first?!! Alonzo was cocky and thought he was bigger than what he was. We see it all throughout the movie, the scene with the wise men really shows it when Alonzo is trying to fit in with them and join their convo and they start belittling him.

      @@SolidSnake240 Yeah but theirs cocky and just plain stupid. And to go spreads some buns when you have the actual money to save your life and even avoid Jake altogether was just plain stupid!!
