    I really like how calm and easy going this video is...I enjoyed it a lot...so with that said I have 8 multitools all different brands, no am not an expert at all I just happen to like multitools I use 2 for work and at home I tend to use what ever I feel like having In my pocket that day😁

    Great review video! I liked that you demonstrated all the tools in use. It is refreshing to see a lady who likes multi-tools! I carry a Victorinox Swiss Champ as it has all the tools I need and can fix many things with it and is legal carry where I live.

      Thank you, @Adam. The Swiss Champ looks like a nice blend of form and function.

    I've had a Spirit for about 6 or so years. I have far preferred it to my prior Leatherman Wave. There's a handful of benefits you get from the Wave the Spirit doesn't offer, but in the end if you keep it light duty, the Spirit works a treat. My complaints are simple: the knife is atrocious but is the perfect beater if you carry a proper working knife with you. The awl was the only tool to break for me, and it was just the tip of it. I was using it to start my pilot holes at work (which is a move I recommend, by the way). For me the scissors weren't as effective, but I believe I've bent them somewhat and that could be me having pushed it too far.
    Overall, I will always recommend this tool over a Leatherman because it is more comfortable to use, and what got me to switch was the pliers on the Wave. They bite your hand when you use them! The backside of the knife sticks up a bit to make room for the thumbhole and it has two knives on opposite sides so you always get a bite from that extra metal when they snap shut on you. You can see the Spirit has a swoop in the hollow of the handle even to prevent just that, and it works very well. It's very comfortable to use as well.

    Great review of the tool set and dam if I didn't know celluloid was that flammable thanks for the knowledge.

    This is probably the most attractive Victorinox multitool to me. All tools looks usefull and it has no removable parts. Thanks for review.

      I think so too, and it is more comfortable to hold than the few others I've tried. Thank you for watching.

    The Spirit is a great multi-tool, glad you enjoy yours. On a side note, using guitar picks as a firestarter is a fantastic tip!

    A complete enough review which is also honest, and simple. I quite enjoyed watching you present and give your final thoughts, especially since you said that you have not been into multitools before. Thank you.

    Great demonstration and video. Ive been using Multitools since i was in the the US Army, so quite a while ago (it was a Gerber MP600 back then, still have and use it). My everyday carry multi tool these days is a Leatherman Style CS (I like the big scissors and nail file on it, super light) on my keychain tools and a Leatherman Skeletool (I like the larger knife compared to the Style, and the screwdriver and pliers are nice to have, nice and light at 5oz) on my side most of the time when i am in comfortable clothes. When i wear jeans or field pants out i generally have my Style CS and a Leatherman Wave+ (more tool options to use when needed, great ergo’s). Not too far away from me attached to my field pack I have a Leatherman Surge with full bit kit, ratchet, extension, multiple blades for the interchangeable blade system on it (Super beefy, Larger tools, uses any jigsaw blades, a full size multi tool for sure). I keep some form of multi tool including Gerber, SOG, Swiss Army knives, etc strewn throughout my house and vehicles, even my gf carries and uses her Leatherman Squirt PS4 quite a bit (she likes the many tools it has and smallish size of it).

      @wobblyotteroutdoors  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wow! Love this. You are definitely prepared and equipped. So cool that your gf carries a Squirt. I'm not familiar with that one and will have to check it out. On the saws... the multitools that have replaceable blades are super awesome.

    It is just funny to me thinking about how Chris is using the cap crimpers on the XBS to atach a detomator cap to a fuse and build her own explosives😂😂😂😂😂😂 (like we use the victorinox in the swiss army) god video keep em coming chris

    Looking at the pliers in 4:40 is that a blasting cap crimper?

    • @wobblyotteroutdoors
      @wobblyotteroutdoors  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, it is!. The Victorinox Swiss Tool BS pliers have a blasting cap crimper. 🙂 Good catch. I missed including that tidbit in the video.

      @@wobblyotteroutdoors I know nobody but EOD guys and weirdos care about them, but my first Leatherman tool issued by the US Army had crimpers too. I had to ask what they were for, LOL!

    Owning several multi tools (Leathermans, SOG, and Gerber), acquired over many years, I must admit I’ve never seen the Victorinox and you did a good job showing its features. And must ask as to who is the guitar player in the family?

    • @wobblyotteroutdoors
      @wobblyotteroutdoors  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm so glad we got to show it to you. Thank you for the kind words. Unfortunately, there is not a guitar player in the house. When we realized celluloid guitar picks and hair barrettes could be used as fire starter, we had to give it a try. I'm amazed at how easily the picks take a spark and they make a fairly large flame.

    The only thing I can see as a con is it looks like the saw tooth pattern is not as tight as what you would find on a Victorinox Swisschamp pocket knife.
    I've had my Swisschamp for about 20 years now and it's starting to show it's age.
    The only thing it doesn't have is a fire starter with a striker. It has a magnifying glass to start fires.
    Granted it's not great for large jobs.

    • @wobblyotteroutdoors
      @wobblyotteroutdoors  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Swiss Champ is an amazing looking multitool. Using it for so long is quite a testament to its quality. Having the magnifying glass is a nice touch. I like too that the Swiss Champ awl has an eye so it can be used for sewing. The saw on the Spirit X is definitely best for small jobs or making sawdust and the like.

    Swiss Army got into a patent infringement with Bear MGC over their Multitool and ended up having to buy the company and subsequently sold the company back to one of the owners after securing the patent rights. Bear MGC, now Bear and Son, is located in Jacksonville, AL

      My favourite multitool is my Leatherman Surge because it's big and strong and has many functions. I tend not to carry though and if I do it's a Leatherman Skeletool in an urban environment or Wenger Ranger when hiking.
      I have also modified my Surge slightly to suit my needs better, something you can't do with a Spirit. I would like to try one though.
