    I was born and raised Catholic but never really care about it and became evangelical 4 years ago . I have never felt so much confusion , incoherence , hypocrisy and division inside the same movement until exhaustion and realizing that something was wrong and off . Your explanations and teachings are amazing ! I realized how blind I was and how judgemental I became because of the evangelist ‘s brainwashing ! Now taking it one day at a time to instruct myself and know the truth . Thank you

      This false religion kept me in bondage for 28 years. I was not led to Jesus, I was not led to the bible, and I was not filled with the Holy Spirit. I was taught to do vain traditions and outright idolatry. Thank God I am free from this dead church. I am born again and filled with the Holy Ghost. I know my redeemer now. I’m thinking of “ taking the plunge” back into the Catholic Church again. I’ve been absent since 2002, ( had a faith crisis and started exploring all kinds of spiritual perspectives and even joined the Latter-day Saint church. Ugh ! I feel like I’m going back in reverse to the time when I realized I was done with this whole charge back 1996 and converted to the Catholic faith. So many denominations out there! I’ve been recently attending several non denominational churches, realizing each pastor could be teaching whatever sounds good to increase membership numbers. Where is the truth? They can’t all be right!

      Hi Kelly. The main reason why I am Catholic, is the Eucharist. In the book of Ephesians, Christ is depicted as the bridegroom and His Church as His bride. Jesus said, that a man must leave his father and mother and join with his wife and the two shall become one flesh. At Mass , Jesus leaves His Father and Mother ( Mary ) and joins with His bride, His Church, and at Holy Communion I get to join with Him. He and I become one flesh, His DNA mingles with mine, His blood mingles with mine. Such an awesome, powerful and wonderous gift . He desires physical Communion with you. Be assured of my prayers. God bless.

    Dear Timothy Staples- please say a prayer for me to have great faith like you. I have been so impacted by your life- I am a young man who wants to lead a good life and be able to have and provide for them like you have and be able to look back on my life knowing I have done well to serve and love people and lead to them to God. Although I am technically a cradle Catholic, I come from an incredibly broken background and feel like my expectations for my life are so unrealistic and I constantly get frustrated and sad - I want to be everything- I want to be preacher/ an academic / a singer / a writer but I know that I probably don't have the gifting for these things - I often see people like you who are my heros and I often get discouraged how weak I am - I am discovering how bad I am at relationships and that I am a pretty selfish person. I'm still trying to find my place in world and at 25 years old I'm still struggling to know where I should be. Thank you for all the work that you do. Please say a prayer for me - I feel very lost and lonely in this pandemic, and I don't normally write things like this - am pretty embarrassed to say all these things, but I'd rather embarass myself saying something in the hope that I would have a great person like you praying for me. Please pray that I have a great devotion to our Blessed Mother- and that I would give myself completely to the will of God with holy indifference. Blessings to you. I pray you impact many more souls like mine- if God can you use to win a hard heart like mine, I wonder in amazement how many more you will continue to impact while you are still here on earth and beyond. God Bless

      One thing you should know, all are broken.
      Even Jesus is descended from broken people … rapists, adulterers, prostitutes, thief’s, murderers ….
      If Christ can come from such a family, why would we expect to be any better.
      It’s not what you are embroiled in that matters, it’s how you get through it. And what Christ taught us, it’s with love, forgiveness, repenting and praying.

      The focus of the new testament is on Jesus the author and finisher of our faith. You just can not find the role of Mary , saints ,angels, or holy men to be of any protection of us at all! Eph 6: tells you about the armor of God and what you do not find is the protection that you alluded to?

And another thing is all of the disagreements in the Protestant, and orthodox branch. Tho Catholics disagree on smaller topics but Catholics agree on all of the big topic, while in Protestantism they disagree on everything, and in orthodoxy they disagree on a lot of things too, like how many books in the Bible. While all Catholics believe in the same things when it comes to big topics

    I didn't agree with much in there but the last sentence was compelling: There's no human explanation even for the existence of the Catholic Church. Likewise for the Bible as a whole, there's no indication that any group or institution or government back then would even think to come up with something so complexly but consistently self-referential.

      In Matthew 16 Jesus gave the keys to the kingdom of God to Peter and, in a special way, gave the power to bind and loose to Peter alone (he later gave the same authority to the college of apostles collectively). The Orthodox were united with the Catholics for the first several centuries. Today the Orthodox acknowledge that Peter (and his successors) was given a special position among the apostles but they say that his special role is more symbolic and doesn’t come with any juridical authority. This contradicts with what the early Christians in the eastern (Orthodox) parts of Christendom said and wrote about the authority of Peter.

    I am thinking about authoring a book titled, "Why Be Catholic?" It will be 100 pages long, and when you turn each page, it will be blank. However, there will be a conclusion that will look something like this:
    CONCLUSION: "Yet the GRACE of Baptism DELIVERS NO ONE."(Catechism of the Catholic Church 978)
    Who DELIVERS then? The Catholic Church??? No, it's not the useless SACRAMENTS Rome peddles to ignorant people. Remember, water Baptism "delivers no one" from sin. They offer a CHEAP GRACE that can never save you.
    Only by "the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth," (v.10) the living God, can one be saved:
    "NOR is there salvation in ANY other, for there is NO other name UNDER heaven GIVEN AMONG MEN by which we must be saved.”(Acts 4:12)
    "But as many as RECEIVED Him, to THEM He GAVE the RIGHT to become children of God, to THOSE who BELIEVE in His NAME: who were BORN, NOT of blood, NOR of the will of the flesh, NOR of the will of man, BUT OF GOD" - John 1:12-13

      Yes it does. Because GOD through Baptism offers everyone a one time opportunity to be Born of Water & the Spirit to be saved before they die. You do not need to be an adult to be baptized. What if your Child dies before adult baptism?
      Infant/Baby Baptism is wonderful, because you give your child to GOD even before the world can mess them up. That sacrament seals them up and makes your prayers as a parent more effective.
      Look at it in the context of school......Why do we take our children to school early on when still very young.? simply because we know and believe in what is good for them before they can even comprehend good themselves.

      Charnel ALLAN.....Very good concern, but if you remember after Adam & Eve sinned in the garden of Eden, all the seeds of man are born with an inherited original sin. Jesus Christ in instituting the Sacrament of Baptism intended for us to be reborn from above through Water & Spirit, have our original sin washed away in order for us to become renewed & adopted sons of the most high GOD (making us brothers & sisters of Jesus) but this does not mean man’s fallen nature is totally eliminated. Man is prone to sin over and over again in their lifetime, that’s why He instituted the Sacrament of penance/reconciliation to continue renewing or washing us from sins committed after baptism. Through this sacrament we obtain more graces from Christ to fight sin.
      Remember also that No child or Baby is innocent, it’s always just a matter of time as they grow before they start to sin. This is because, they are children from a sinful body.

      Salvation, according to Scripture, is a process that begins with God gave us the gift of faith (Ephesus. 2:8) and He continues saving us through sanctification (2 Thes. 2:13). Salvation is not one time event and is not through faith alone. Once we are given the gift of faith then we undergo baptism for forgiveness of sins (Acts 2:38). Babies are baptized to cleanse them from Original Sin - faith and sanctification come later in their life.

      The Catholic Church also has the sacrament of confirmation. This is when an adolescent or an adult stands up to renew the baptismal promises made in their name by their sponsors during infant baptism. It is performed by a Bishop when baptism is done by a priest.
      We sometimes do renew our baptism promises collectively at mass during Lent, Easter, at a baptism, a wedding or a confirmation.
      We are born again of water and the spirit once but contine to proclaim it throughout our life in the Catholic Church.
      God bless.

    This may come as a surprise to everyone, but NOT ONE TIME did the commentator mention in this video the power and working of the Holy Spirit.
    It is interesting how verse 8 of John chapter 3 gets little attention in the context of the topic of being born again. The waters of baptism can be seen with the human eyes, but not the Holy Spirit of God.
    In the born again passage in John chapter 3, Jesus made it a point to show that to be born again is to be born of the Holy Spirit (born from above). It is a spiritual birth from death to eternal life. The water that Jesus spoke of in verse 5 is not natural water, but the Living Water that comes from God which regenerates, revives, and refreshes the human spirit within an individual. It is an experience that only a truly repentant believer (from one's heart) in Christ Jesus can have.
    Those who go through the ceremony of water baptism, without their hearts being right before God, are only getting wet.

    • @craigsherman4480
      @craigsherman4480 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      One needs to be born of water and spirit. If you are just baptized, that is not enough. You must be born again of the Spirit too.
      The question was, why should I be Catholic. The man was already a Christian who said he was baptized so there would be no need to go through all of John 3.

    • @dannisivoccia2712
      @dannisivoccia2712 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      There really was a need to go through John 3, because the caller did not mention that he was born from above, and filled with the Holy Spirit, which indicates plainly to any Spirit-filled believer why he is still searching and thinking that he may need more than just water baptism and faith, like possibly planting himself into Roman Catholicism.
      The term, "born again," is becoming more and more cliche; especially, in certain churches that do not have a strong handle as to what Jesus truly meant by being born again. Some churches think that the moment a person is baptized in water, they have become born again. This is why I said that if the heart is not right before God (for whatever reason known to God), the one being baptized in water is only getting wet.
      Any truly born again/regenerated brother or sister, filled with the Holy Spirit, would not need to place a call like this. Why? "If any man be in CHRIST (not in a particular denomination), he is a NEW creation; old things pass away, behold ALL things become NEW"). Such as these have been empowered by the Holy Spirit to live the life that God desires for all who repent and receive (by faith) the salvation that God has provided through His Son.
      However, there is an outside possibility that the caller was simply testing the "waters" via the commentator. Only God knows.

      Dan Nisivoccia How about as someone who has the Holy Spirit he is looking for the fullness of the Truth which is only found in the Church that Christ established.
      With regard to Baptism, it takes both water and Spirit to be saved. Just being saved in the Spirit does not get you there. Nor does just being baptized, you need both. That is why you need to be born again of water (baptism) and Spirit (believing in and trusting in Christ, who is the way, the truth, and the light.)

      I have been saying the same thing all along about baptism; but in the context of putting the horse first, then the cart.
      Baptism in natural water seals the deal, IF a person's heart was made right in God's eyes at the time of (or prior to) water baptism. If not, ceremonial water baptism alone will not do much except to get someone wet.
      There are times when a person has been given the gift of the Holy Spirit (born again), after that person repented of their sins and surrendered his or her life to Christ-----prior to actual water baptism.
      The first church that Jesus established was in Jerusalem (not Rome) during the outpouring of the Holy Spirit known as Pentecost. ALL other churches were established afterwards.

    • @craigsherman4480
      @craigsherman4480 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dan Nisivoccia The Church that Christ established is not called the Roman Catholic Church. It is called the Catholic Church, or Universal Christian Church. It was founded in Jerusalem by Christ, who then gave his authority to Peter and the Apostles. Peter moved around, from Jerusalem, to Antioch, and finally to Rome, where he and Paul were martyred, Peter handed over the keys to the kingdom before being martyred to Linus, and so on. The Roman Rite, or Latin Rite, is just one part of the Church Catholic.

Let us not judge them and break the body of Christ and the only true church built by Jesus on Peter the Rock, and create 33 thousand at present and may be a few million denominations in the future , the fragmentation will never end. I see what you're saying, many people are always relying on religion instead of being led by the Holy spirit thats a big problem nowadays because religion make it seem as if theyre multiple of God yet think they worship the same, breaks my heart that people are always on debate with religion just because it causes trouble with our journey similar to my expirience i just began to question why need religion we omly need to be led by the spirit and i may be wrong with this as I said bedore im still new like 2 months or so and im only putting my faith into Jesus and if it aligns in his word and not any belief from a man then I'm trusting God and not religion, many people are being deceived and they're deceiving many so only trust that God is guiding you yes we do need assistance of others but always keep in mind that the devil is always working and put on the armor of God so our crowns would not be take God bless you ❤

      @@aestheticsoul4075 Please also remember that, religion means relationship with GOD. if you Hate the one true religion of GOD, then just know you actually hate being in relationship with GOD.
      Its not about what we want but what GOD wants.

      @@johnaustin594 dont get the wrong idea, I really dont mind i just dont like the fact that it causes division and religion is there because we also would need our brother and sisters but whats so good about it if people are always in a debate and not really focusing with building each other up i get what you're saying and it is important but is also hard to find the right kind of people if you know what I mean
