As with eye shadow - throughout the history also many bad-ass male leaders and warriors had quirks about their appearances that they kept and practiced constantly and devotedly (for example braids, detailed mustaches, beard stylings, hair color, also eye shadow in some cultures etc) so nothing actually standout here also. Love this character. The actress does an awesome job. This is no Mary Sue. Just one of the great things about this show. Strong male characters. Strong female characters. Strong male and female working together. One doesn't have to diminish the other to stand out.
I don't anybody thinks she's a mary sue, but she definitely lacks the charisma that just seems to flow from the other women on the show like Naomi, Draper, Anna the pastor, Avasarala at many points, and I was expecting Carissa Mao to come right back but she is now. They all are great characters, Drummer just never gives anyone inspiration to join her or help her, I don't think the fun loving belters would follow her at all if a belter leader wasn't commanding them to. Drummer is a particularly interesting case of an adaptation surpassing it's source material to some extent. Originally in the books she doesn't even show up until well after the New Terra/Ilus incident and is quite watered down compared to the show version. The reason for that being that at least 3 other characters from the books had their personalities and subplots fused and mixed with Drummer's to match the plot and pacing of the show, to the point where she's practically a whole new character. One in a long line of good, creative, and yet subtle changes to the story that are often necessary when moving a novel series into live-action. But the likes of which I don't think I've ever seen done as well.
One of my favorite non-space battle scenes in tlThe Expanse is when a half dead drummer is being dragged to the med bay, and she casually pulls a pistol out of one of her escort's holster to blow the brains out of the traitor who shot her.
YEEEESSS. Peak Drummer moment for me as well. Other peak Drummer moment was the battle on the Navoo in the ring space, when she got punched in the face by Diago and then nearly did a frag grenade sacrifice. All after building herself some mechanical legs. I'm thinking Season 5 is going to give us another peak Drummer moment.
One other point to, she is self aware. When Fred asks her to salvage the Nauvoo, he says that he and Dawes made peace. Camina said that she sided with Fred because she believes in a belter future of peace. So she's not just a violent person for violence sake, she is violent now so future belters don't have to be. A rare asset in characters.
Agreed. I got a laugh out of that one. I think even out of the badasses that are the Force Recon, she is counted as a badass amongst them, so double badass.

Cara Gee as Drummer is genius level casting, because just seeing the actress you'd never guess she could pull this role off. I'd love to see her audition.
Thanks for doing this. Drummer is what Disney would love to create and continuously and magnificently fails at. A strong female character that everyone (men and women) likes because she has depth and a character arc. Take notes Kathleen Kennedy and learn something.
Disney with star wars is plenty capable of writing good and complex strong female characters. You got Ahsoka Thano, Hera Syndulla, you got Sabine Wren. The Mandalorian had some too, tho we didn't spend much time with them. The films are another story.
@@charleshodgdon6168 Disney is a company, they are out to make money. The clusterfuck of Star Wars is bad management of creative talent aka ok, let Jj Abrams produce, but for the love of god, have someone else plan out the trilogy and write the scripts! Even with Last Jedi a failure, it at least failed trying to establish a story arc, JJ just throws shit at the audience or copies story bits with no coherence to a narrative. Disney also does not give a shit about wokeness, they just do what their marketing deems most effective. If you look at their progressiveness/wokeness, it is shallow as a puddle and usually fake, they just want to appease that audience.
Bobbie is another great character. Her visit to the sea was really moving. drummer is my favorite though. I grew up in the punk rock days, so you can probably guess why.
Drummer is my second favourite character. She's awesome. As said in the video, she's earned everything she has, worked hard to get where she is, and they didn't take any shortcuts when it comes to showing this to the audience. It's why she works when so many other 'strong female characters' fall flat. The Expanse has done a really great job of that with all their characters, and I love them for it. But my real favourite is one of the most quietly complex and deep characters I may have ever seen, Amos Burton. Amos is the personification of the old cliche about still waters running deep.
Spoiler for the books…. It seems Amos is taking on the role of representing every aspect of the human race…emotionally broken by his past, but learned from it, matured by it and moves forward with empathy, loyalty, learns from mistakes, has a good heart and strong moral core…but is also cold and calculated killer, reactive and violent, looks out for number one, delivers honesty with no concern for how it hurts others. It makes him lovable and disturbing both at once. It’s why he survives in the end as a character…the good the bad the ugly and the beloved aspects of humanity survive if highly evolved. “…if we don’t got a problem here…Lets go have some beers”
amos really is a badass character, but i think he's my second favorite, drummer being first. Amos is absolutely amazing, dont get me wrong, and Wes absolutely KILLS it as your stereotypical "quiet but deadly" badass, with far deeper layers to him that he only reveals bit by bit over time. But drummer best character
She is a combination of at least 2 characters with a 3rd character for seasoning. As a result she shares all their characteristics. My favorite scene with her is when she shoots the belter who earlier shot her....as though she was starting the dishwasher....
Cara Gee portrayed that role brilliantly. She did not miss a beat. She was both strong and vulnerable when she needed to be. Uncompromising, unyielding. Human, but way better.
Cara Gee does an amazing job with the consistency of her character. I actually thought English was a second language for the actress, but hearing interviews with her, it makes appreciate her acting even more. She just transforms into this amazing 3 dimensional character and you can see where she's been, her outlook, and where she's going. An incredibly written and acted character.
Oh good god yes! They are both elder statesmen of British acting and Cara just got right up there and made Drummer more than a match for both of them AT THE SAME TIME (not that she would with Dawes but still) God just thinking about David Strathairn makes me sad! Ashford came in being a pest bothering our heroes but went out being the biggest damn hero. Brb gotta see who’s cutting onions...
One of my favourite changes that the series made from the books, was the introduction of Drummer from the start. She does not appear until book 5, but she was a perfect fit to replace a combination of Sam and Bull (the characters who were in the books). Amazing character.
Like the Amos Burton character, Carmina Drummer is the only other Expanse character I literally smile about when they're in the scene - because I just can't wait for what they're going to say and/or do next. Both characters (Amos and Carmina) turn up the entertainment level of 'The Expanse' to eleven ('Spinal Tap' movie reference).
very much so. When i showed the expanse to my parents, they didnt like amos at first, and i had to not say anything and just smirk a little any time they said something bad about him.. by season 3 he was one of their favorite characters lol!
Well done breakdown of this character. Agree, a deep and rare three dimensional character but it could easily have been so much less without Camina’s creator, Cara Gee. All praise to her and her acting artistry.
The way she barks out that "Tenye wa chesh gut!" @ 10:54 give me goosebumps every time. I swear I could follow that woman up to and straight through the gates of Hell.
Ashford taught Camina Drummer the vision of a peaceful, civilized coexistence with the "Inners" as equals, and he offered Camina the wisdom of his long life experience. An excellent improvement to Camina's already excellent skill and value set.
I find it testament to how great of a character Drummer is, and how integral she is to the story now, considering she didn't even have a name for the first two seasons. She was credited as "Fred Johnson's Second in Command."
I'd go with Susan Ivanova who was in charge of Babylon 5. There were no special enhancements to her yet she could go face to face with the largest warships in the galaxy and intimidate the elder races to fight for her.
What happens when you take a beautiful actress, try to make her ugly and end up making her even more beautiful than before? You get Camina Drummer. Great review of Drummer. I agree she is one of the best Sci-fi characters ever in movies or TV. She is passion on steroids, while showing it with frown. She may throw you out an air-lock, or risk her life to save you, depending on circumstances. The vast majority of female characters are defined in some way by their romantic or family interests. But Drummer has no romantic partner or family members for her to protect, nurture or depend upon. She is independent from the distractions of lovers and families. Or is she? As you say, Drummer loves the Belt. The Belt is her family and her lover. And it is her devotion to the Belt that defines her. It strikes me that Drummer has the characteristics of all three aspects of the Triple Goddess from antiquity. She is the maiden: The young woman full of life and vitality, yet also wracked by insecurity. She is the little drummer girl who enthusiastically encourages her followers into battle, yet fearful she may not be good enough to have that role. For Drummer, the Belt is her lover, who she is completely devoted to, but Is afraid she will lose him or not be good enough for him. She is the mother: The mature woman who is devoted to her child (The Belt). She will protect him with her life and sacrifice anyone who endangers him. Yet she also wishes to nurture him, see him grow and survive in a hostile world. She is the Matron (also known as the hag by patriarchal societies): She thinks and acts rationally with the confidence of age and experience. She can rival any man with wit and sarcasm. She bewitches others to do her bidding with the force of personality. But she can act with great compassion for those less fortunate who need her help.
Most likely show-Drummer will have the same relationship with Saba that book-Drummer has, which is a pretty central thing to book-Drummer's character. (I don't consider this a spoiler, as this relationship doesn't really "develop" so much as "exist before we are told it exists").
He’s right you know, in every aspect... as far as the current attempt after failed attempt to manufacture a “strong female” character... it obviously takes an actual author being translated into sci-fi in screen, not a screenwriter looking to create the strong woman as a goal in and of itself. Write.. actually WRITE a great story.. and the strong characters (male female or otherwise) will be there. But start with the story. The characters will be there, when needed.
Camina Drummer of The Expanse isn't the same as the one in the books. She's an amalgam of Sam and Bull, getting Sam's brains and Bull's presence and strength. I was surprised by the rewrite, but it fits the series perfectly.
The heart and soul of the belt indeed. So incredibly played, with such massive passion. She deserves her own storyline or series. Damn I would follow her to hell and back for one smile from here. 😍💖 Thanks for this tribute to Camina Drummer, the greatest belter in history. And btw you should post that poem in the subscription. It's beatifull.
I don't think Drummer is physically tough and I think she'd lose in most physical fights against the men. Her appeal to me is that she'd be sure to make them work every second of the fight. It's more her strength of will and determination over her physical prowess that saw her rapidly become my favourite character.
she's easily the second toughest female character on the show, adn Bobby can take any of the men easily. I'd think that she would beat most of them in a gun fight, as she's fast, agile and skilled. Could she beat them in greco roman wrestling? probably not.
@@garethholman1050 In the books, Amos picks a fight with Bobby because nobody else he can think of has a chance and he wants to lose, but his character will not allow him to dive. IIRC they end with a draw.
I love how much detail she has in the show compared to the books early on. It's a testament to how good Cara Gee plays the role. This video was a really good highlight of that.
I am glad someone giving the Expanse the respect it deserves. Its my favorite show ever besides maybe Defiance, you should do a video on Defiance! Her and Amos are my Fav characters. Amos is awesome

I will be hoping for a character dissection on Klaes Ashford. I can't wait to hear your take on his complex character, even though he sort of had a short arc.
The one quote from Drummer that stuck is from Season 6 when talking to Michio: “I never loved you because you were fighters. I loved you because you were builders. I wanted us to build something together.”
A female character who doesn't excuse anyone, especially herself, is strong yet feminine, and doesn't play gender games because she's too busy making the belt a legitimate political entity.
It seems like a million years ago that someone once described Gillian Anderson as "The thinking man's crumpet". Might I propose that Camina be described as "The thinking man's tough chick"?

Drummer is the most badass female character in the serie next to Avasaralla and Draper. She's got attitude, and her speech are heartbreking, such a fantastic perfomance. The actress is also gorgeus
The emotional distress she has to endure in season 5 breaks my heart: Which of her friends will she sacrifice in the Morton's Fork that is forced upon her? See also: "Sophie's Choice".
I gotta give it to Ripley personally, but Drummer is great and the way Cara Gee makes her come to life so authentically is simply amazing. I have no idea how she keeps it so consistent, her acting is some of the best on TV. The Expanse has a lot of good actors as it is, quite remarkable how much her performance still stands out
I've only gotten through the first two seasons of the show and I find Draper so grating. Just all anger, rage, or mopey with no charisma the whole time. Just wants to be the marine and her sections just make me think of Starship Troopers every time.
@@Damassan I really grew to like her. She seems very one dimensional at first, but I adore her arc and how her prejudices sharply shift. but ymmv as always.
I just watched this whole series last week and really liked it and I definitely loved her character . I definitely agree with this video she is awesome.
Kinda sad this came out before some of her further development in the last two seasons - namely her queer, polyamorous relationship, and where she ends up politically by the end of season 6. I think she's the most developed, evolved character by the end, and a real hero for me. Cara Gee did an incredible job playing her.
the loss of that relationship really hits home for anyone else who's tried to build a household like that, and lost it. it was deeply personal, having lost a relationship like that, the pain and scars it leaves, and how much it was worth it to maintain it while we did.
A lot of talk about how ace Drummer's character is in the vid and comments, and she is, but very little about how Cara Gee specifically brings so much of that TO the character. The same words and plot points could fall short in many ways in the hands of a lesser actor. Gee kills it. :applause:
Second that. Especially when Cara is such a happy-go-lucky kind of person. I was a little floored when I first heard her normal speaking voice. Amazing character work. 💪💪
Her accent is what made her stick out at first, but her ability to scare the shit outta people from across the room and the incredible dry humour is what made her memorable
One of the many things I really like about Drummer is that she is not some sort of all powerful 'bestest evar' mary sue. She is tough, intelligent, inspires loyalty but at the same time is a normal human being. There is a telling moment in one scene when she is wearing the exoskeleton (I don't want to be too specific in case of spoilers). She and the other characters are in a lift heading towards zero G. In other scenes she has been stomping around, behaving normally for Drummer. There is a shot, when she feels the G force lessening and she thinks the other characters are not looking, where her expression softens. You realise she has been in absolute agony the entire time yet she hadn't once shown any sign of pain in front of the people who needed her. A great piece of acting as far as I'm concerned,
I fell in love with her when she took the navuoo into the ring. In that raggedy hand me down used up vessel that was not meant for battle. She made the ship into a war ship with her speech. “That is not fear. That is your SHARPNESS.’
Well. That ending was amazing!! I can't wait to hear more of the Expanse from you. If I didn't watch this show before these videos would have definitely hooked me.
Drummer is the shit. She’s so utterly defiant, it’s magnetic. She would face up to a giant of a man and say fuck you to their face. Her convictions are so strong.
Thanks for making this. Gee plays Drummer perfectly, she's a excellent compelling screen presence. Like to see her be more involved in season 5, maybe battle with proto-molecule monster or something.. She's already iconic. Frankie Adams is great as "Bobbie," but there's something about Camina Drummer that' so sci-fi cool.
Drummer is awesome, that part where she is furious and goes into the other room and it builds and builds then she just lets out that amazing scream. That shit gave me chills, One of the best screams I've ever seen from an actress or actor. Awesome actress IMO. Amos and Drummer are my favorite characters. Peace.
Great video. Along with your other character studies from The Expanse. The Expanse is incredible, and I'm going to eagerly gobble up any Expanse content that you put out because you get it man. Good stuff. Can't wait for the new (final) season, and what you have to say about it.
"She is the heart of the belt" This is why I think in subsequent seasons of the show, they will give her more and more of the story of a certain book character (that is not in the show), as she embodies it perfectly.
IMO, Naomi's a weak character, inconsistent and led about by the ideology or emotional drive of the day. She's getting better as she develops, but slowly. And that's not to say she's badly written; her arc is actually fairly believable and compelling - but she is not as admirable as Drummer - at least not yet. But she's got plenty of room to grow, and it looks like she will so long as the writers don't keep resetting her to zero.
I know this sort of comment makes some people mad for some reason, but IMO The Expanse is a great example of why diversity of characters is, apart from all the political and cultural considerations, just an inherently good thing. It just makes it all more interesting to watch.
I never get tired watching this video again and again. Camina ( the way ) is my favourite character and your description about her leaves nothing to be desired. Eell done 👏👏👏
Totally absolutely agree, Camina Drummer is the most interesting and is absolutely the best character of the series. Not taking anything away from the great ensemble that has always been part of this fantastic series. I think the superb performance by Cara Gee is the foundation of of Drummer's interesting character portrayal. Hope to see more of Cara Gee in other rolls in the future!
What makes her truly awesome: Her Belter body (fabulous as it is) is more fragile than anyone from Earth or Mars yet no matter how much damage it takes she keeps it moving by sheer will.

Particular kudos should go to season 3, where she's basically taking on the storylines of three different characters at the same time -- plus herself.
They basically fused Sam Rosenberg, Michio Pa, and Carlos Baka with her for the show.
Hello there
It’s always great when an adaptation can find ways to actually surpass its already great source material.
Ashford is this way too
He really caught the "Expanse fever". He's hooked.
Yea, he definitely did. I'm waiting for an entire review in Belter.
It's the best Sci Fi show in years by leaps and bounds. I don't trust you if you don't like this show, lol.
@@AshtonCoolman You can trust me. I also have "the expanse fever" i read all the books. just waiting for the last one.

@@sid2112 who doesn't. Drummer is just attractive in every aspect
One of my favorite non-space battle scenes in tlThe Expanse is when a half dead drummer is being dragged to the med bay, and she casually pulls a pistol out of one of her escort's holster to blow the brains out of the traitor who shot her.
I didn't see that coming and when it happened I was all like, YES!
If ya gonna come for the queen.. you best come correct
glorious scene
Drummer makes Death look cool &.sexy.
True on the self-awareness, a very insightful point and not only true of her character in the show. Amos for instance, is very self-aware.
The ending of the series, and followed by book 7 confirms this even more. She is the catalyst for making the belt a respected partner in the system.
'if this is another of your teaching moment, i prefer for bleedout in silence'
Camina Drummer is my favorite character in the series. The actress does an award deserving performance. She's amazing.
I dropped 205 pounds on my chest when you said “Bobbie Draper identifies as a gundam” thanks bro. Now I can’t listen to you guys when I’m lifting 😂
Haha careful dude!
Agreed. I got a laugh out of that one. I think even out of the badasses that are the Force Recon, she is counted as a badass amongst them, so double badass.
But did you die?
@@OgamiClan Its pretty shit to drop that kinda weight on yourself but not the end of the world. If it was more of a controlled drop they should be ok. It happens anyway sometimes, you might go for an extra rep and you cant hold it any longer so you drop it down. You just don't drop it like a rock but in a slower more controlled manner to be safe. In the cases where it does drop like a rock it will hurt but doesnt necessitate an injury in all scenarios.
Yeah right, more like 120lbs!
Drummer was Fred's executive officer not commanding officer. The XO is the commanding officer's second-in-command
"I'd like you to take the time to learn the Babylon 5 mantra: Ivanova is always right. I will listen to Ivanova. I will not ignore Ivanova's recommendations. Ivanova is God. And if this ever happens again, Ivanova will personally rip your lungs out."

"Who am I? I am Susan Ivanova. Commander. Daughter of Andrei and Sofie Ivanov. I am the right hand of vengeance, and the boot that is going to kick your sorry ass all the way back to Earth, sweetheart! I am death incarnate, and the last living thing that you are ever going to see. God sent me."
- Susan Ivanova
Epic classic Ivanova rant... Love that... "God Sent me"... Awesome scene!
Not to mention when she talks to the First Ones, an action the show directly compared to an ant speaking to a human
Delenn's speech in "Severed Dreams" is also up there. ;)
-----
Delenn : [after Delenn's fleet arrives, as Earth Alliance ships attack B5] This is Ambassador Delenn of the Minbari. Babylon 5 is under our protection. Withdraw or be destroyed!
Earth Force Officer : Negative! We have authority here. Do not force us to engage your ship.
Delenn : Why not? Only one human captain has ever survived battle with a Minbari Fleet. He is behind me. You are in front of me. If you value your lives, be somewhere else!
[Earth Alliance ships pause, as if contemplating Delenn's statement, then turn around and retreat through a jump point, wisely deciding to "be somewhere else".]
I am afraid Susan Ivanova does NOT qualify as best SiFi female AS she is best GOD of SiFi. Hail Susan Ivanova's religion. Amen
such a shame she never got her Ranger
Cara Gee as Drummer is genius level casting, because just seeing the actress you'd never guess she could pull this role off. I'd love to see her audition.
I am glad to see Camina getting the recognition she deserves. I love her accent and her totally bad ass attitude.
She should play Ventress
Disney is not truly trying to do that. Look at Cara Dune and what Disney did to Gina Carano.
@@ferrumoferebus Save it for 4chan

LOL - I paused video immediately and searched for comment on this, not disappointed.
I did too
Bobbie is another great character. Her visit to the sea was really moving. drummer is my favorite though. I grew up in the punk rock days, so you can probably guess why.
Wow...i never saw it like that, but now I can't disagree with it.
Your one of the angriest people I've ever met Tiny.
"Amos has more depth in his character backstory than all characters of Star Trek Discovery combined." - The Critical Drinker.
She is the Suzan Ivanova from Babylon 5 of the Expanse.
The women of Babylon 5 ...now that's not just a whole other video...but a whole set of playlists....
Ivanova is quite normal woman with good organizational skills, Drummer is more rough and crazy.
@@tomasr. Ivanova can be rough and crazy too
No boom today.
I have never seen Babylon 5, in all honesty how does it compare to The Expanse?
She is a combination of at least 2 characters with a 3rd character for seasoning. As a result she shares all their characteristics. My favorite scene with her is when she shoots the belter who earlier shot her....as though she was starting the dishwasher....
well said.
There are aLOT of great women in this franchise, but she really holds up acting opposite to Jared Harris (dawes) AND David straitham (ashford).
Oh good god yes! They are both elder statesmen of British acting and Cara just got right up there and made Drummer more than a match for both of them AT THE SAME TIME (not that she would with Dawes but still)
God just thinking about David Strathairn makes me sad! Ashford came in being a pest bothering our heroes but went out being the biggest damn hero. Brb gotta see who’s cutting onions...
David Straitham is also brilliant and I love the relationship development between Camina and Ashford.
She is unbelievablely cool in her "belter" laugauge.
One of my favourite changes that the series made from the books, was the introduction of Drummer from the start. She does not appear until book 5, but she was a perfect fit to replace a combination of Sam and Bull (the characters who were in the books). Amazing character.
Funny that for all the times Drummer was injured, Naomi was the only character that seemed to hurt her.
😢
Ok‚ this one hurt 😭
well played, and so true.
Yep she loved Naomi perhaps more than Fred, Anderson and Ashford. She really loved Naomi and this was shown n the X-ray episode.
I imagine she's so complicated because she is a conglomerate of 3 different characters from the book
At least the so far. (Edit) Three female and at least one male.
Yeah, I miss Bull. But Camina has been awesome on the show
I miss Sam Rosenberg.
I was just thinking that 😂
Instructions on how to make a good character into a show, bring more others together in one?
Like the Amos Burton character, Carmina Drummer is the only other Expanse character I literally smile about when they're in the scene - because I just can't wait for what they're going to say and/or do next. Both characters (Amos and Carmina) turn up the entertainment level of 'The Expanse' to eleven ('Spinal Tap' movie reference).
very much so. When i showed the expanse to my parents, they didnt like amos at first, and i had to not say anything and just smirk a little any time they said something bad about him.. by season 3 he was one of their favorite characters lol!
Camina Drummer: "We are strong! We are sharp! ...and we don't know fear!"
Dregoth following in the footsteps of Captain Janeway
Well done breakdown of this character. Agree, a deep and rare three dimensional character but it could easily have been so much less without Camina’s creator, Cara Gee. All praise to her and her acting artistry.
The way she barks out that "Tenye wa chesh gut!" @ 10:54 give me goosebumps every time. I swear I could follow that woman up to and straight through the gates of Hell.
Cara Gee and Frankie Adams play my favorite two women in television, hands down
Seconded, they are brilliant!
@@ferrumoferebus She's not the best, but she's still pretty great. Of course she's no Samus or Alita
Drummer and Ashford were my two favorite characters in the series.
Ashford taught Camina Drummer the vision of a peaceful, civilized coexistence with the "Inners" as equals, and he offered Camina the wisdom of his long life experience. An excellent improvement to Camina's already excellent skill and value set.
they really were an iconic duo, the scenes where drummer is reaction to ashford's death hit me harder than his actual death scene

The Expanse did such a good job writing female characters.
I find it testament to how great of a character Drummer is, and how integral she is to the story now, considering she didn't even have a name for the first two seasons. She was credited as "Fred Johnson's Second in Command."
I wouldnt deny a woman like Drummer in my life.

I'd go with Susan Ivanova who was in charge of Babylon 5. There were no special enhancements to her yet she could go face to face with the largest warships in the galaxy and intimidate the elder races to fight for her.
She’s the Ro Laren of the expanse, and that’s high praise.
I want to see you make a sequel incorporating all her turmoil from Season 5.
Make that Season 6 too!
I feel like Drummer and Naomi have the best chemistry in all of science fiction. Fingers crossed they eventually get together
Shippers gonna ship I guess xD
Immensely underrated comment, you said it all.
Applause👏👏👏👏
I've been saying this for a long time, at the end of the day the bad female characters we've been seeing boils down to bad writing
Screenwriting 101 I’ve been saying that for over 30 years
Camina Drummer of The Expanse isn't the same as the one in the books. She's an amalgam of Sam and Bull, getting Sam's brains and Bull's presence and strength. I was surprised by the rewrite, but it fits the series perfectly.

@@seancostello4158 I think Amos could take her down but I can't think of anyone else that could.
@@garethholman1050 agreed
@@garethholman1050 In the books, Amos picks a fight with Bobby because nobody else he can think of has a chance and he wants to lose, but his character will not allow him to dive. IIRC they end with a draw.
@@cmdrbigity6914 I don't think it's how that would realistically work out but as it's a work of fiction I can see why it went that route.

I'm glad that her character is finally getting the recognition that she deserves. Love Drummer.
She doesn't get bogged down with politics, she jus works around it to get shit done.

The Expanse has a lot of good actors as it is, quite remarkable how much her performance still stands out
Bobbi Draper is probably my favorite character... but they pretty much all rock.
I've only gotten through the first two seasons of the show and I find Draper so grating. Just all anger, rage, or mopey with no charisma the whole time. Just wants to be the marine and her sections just make me think of Starship Troopers every time.

I love her. I love her transformation from her real self to Drummer.
Holding her arms behind her back shows how strong she feels she is.
Who else has been watching the Expanse since SciFi season one and feels like a proud founder watching all these newbies catch on???
A great piece of acting as far as I'm concerned,
Someone should send a link to this video to Cara Gee. I'd love to hear her take on this.
Would love to watch a video of Generation Films about FireFly universe.
Bobbie Draper identifies as Gundam...

"She is the heart of the belt"
This is why I think in subsequent seasons of the show, they will give her more and more of the story of a certain book character (that is not in the show), as she embodies it perfectly.
Cara Gee does such a good job. I total agree. Up there with the great characters - Ripley and Drummer!
"Because I suppose at least on some small degree bullets still affect her..."
You had me at Camina Drummer. I Love Her!! One of her best lines this season, "No throne?" As she walks into Marcos ship. Totally not afraid of him.
Uhm. Naomi Nagata, sasa ké? That girl has breathed the vacuum and survived, coyo me.
@@kireduhai9428 the best part of Naomi's growth, at least in my opinion, comes in Tiamat's Wrath. That shit was crazy good
