There is one : The Disney museum.
This is why i love cel animation. You have a physical art you can hold. But it can be animated. Its a shame that cels can degrade though.
This makes me sad. I own 4 different cels and one of them is a model cel from fox and the hound. It has those ocean wave ripples.

Mu grandfather drove him and his brother from missouri to California, because there was a time when Disney was about to throw out a bunch of cels and they were basically giving them away and now theyve all been passed down to me.

It's so cool to see these being slowly restored to their originally intended form,
this makes me hopeful for the future of the anime/animation industry.
Sad that Disney doesn't bring back this animation.
Yes, they will. I heard that 2d animation is coming back to Disney.
They have dedication to restore the cels but not releasing blurays completely restored like they came out in theatres. With changed colours, altered aspect ratio and worst of all blur everywhere to "hide" the imperfections

This may sound crazy, but I struggle to see the value of keeping the originals (all of them that is). I mean, it's millions and millions of cells. If I kept every frame of every animation made, I feel that'd be kinda nuts. Like they did their job, you don't gotta keep them forever nor could you. The backgrounds, yes, way less of them.

Wonderful, breathtaking information. I have many older cels from Disneyland when I was a child and others that I have collected over the years. Recently retired I have been trying to find out how to identify cels actually used in films. Is there somewhere where I can find a list of all the markings that Disney made on their pieces and sold to the public?

Why is there physical animation material from Moana? Isn’t it a digital film?
They still use maquettes and pencil tests, and not to mention tons of concept art.
why don't Disney do a digital 2d animated movie
