One thing I love about Guts and Blackpowder is the level of detail in the game, starting from the Parisians evacuating in the background, to the cannons firing to the song and just all the NPCs. A diamond in the rough.

Bro all of them are heroes the hms undaunted crew literally saved all of the survivors risking there own lives . And the sailor from sansebastian was sent sent from the hms undaunted
And don't forget after the ferry man picks u up Jean snd his men have no escape route so after we survive a objective mode they will be doin endless
Guts and Blackpowder is one of the only few games that has NPCs fight back and have personality.

Something i love about this game is how depressing and realistic it is. I know it sounds weird but like you can tell that the characters are like confused and afraid of the zombies. The sad part kind of makes it more immersive as this is basically the end of the world to them.
the french and austrians have a blank stare, the british smiling with terrible oral hygiene, the danish are scared, the swedish eager to find a way out.
And Russians just being Russians. Addicted to snow (I hope there will be another like Dano-Swedish or smth like that)

Leipzig is kinda accurate bc the French blown the bridge up to escape from the allied powers in the actual Battle of Leipzig.

Fun Fact: Blucher was the one who led the Prussian armies who - if they weren't interrupted by the zombies - would defeat Napoleon at the battle of Waterloo with the help of the Duke of Wellington and a Nassau army. Pretty cool, but saddening that Blucher turns into a zombie.
Yeah. Kinda funny but tragic the only actual historical figure depicted is also one that gets killed off.

Ngl the animations in this game are just amazing. You can tell the devs both know what they’re doing, and have ALOT of talent behind their backs.

The Barry cry actually made me shed a tear, this just tells you the VA did a great job.
When I first tried Guts and black powder i thought it was just a game about zombies during those time periods and thats it I wasn’t even aware of a storyline.
Probably because it was the first and last time I played it
I love how the Catachombes de Paris map really matches with the Overture 1812 piece. Literally, the bell rings at exactly the same time as it should in the irl piece and even the cannons. Such care of details really show how hardly the developers spended on their work.

The bridge blowing up in Leipzig is a real reference to the real battle as a French corporal lit the fuse to early as he saw approaching coalition troops and French soldiers were still crossing and the bridge was blown up stranding nearly 30000 men who surrendered the next day and some drowned as the bridge blew up

the G&B devs should make a New Orleans map when you spawn at the rooftops of the french quarter and once you do objectives, you will meet an American steamboat vessel sailor and his other crew members and you would be given an objective to defend his ship as he tries to get it working and marcus’s crew members will be able to move around and shoot and melee the zombies to assist the survivors but they can be vulnerable by getting attacked by a zombie and turn into a zombie if nobody is around to help them. Once the sailor is finally finished getting the boat to work he will shout the remaining survivors at the docks to get on the boat then once the survivors board the boat, he will sail off the port.
Isn't this set in the 1700s? I thought steamboats didn't arrive until the 1800s

These are npcs that died helping us or talking to us /if you're wondering how jean died jean died bc he was tasked to light up the catacombs but he still pushed being attack by zombies to light up the catacombs when we encounter him its his last time seeing us by /and the captain in the ship he died bc he got bit and was a zombie that's why he was on the rope 2 of his crew survived he used a pole to drive the ship /the secret npc he died bc he was bit and the pressure he shot him self with a pistol /the kaub he got bit bc when they were gonna put all the zombies in the celler he got bit by one

1:32 Correction: earlier in the campaign you launch a rocket to signal the ship before making your way towards the port. You then turn the lighthouse on for the ship to see where exactly to arrive and, well, to not land on the rocks
Makes sense. Bigass flare to let them know someone’s actually there, since a lighthouse isn’t much to go off of. Lighthouse just helps them not die
