- Hey everybody! This is long descriptive tutorial on all the ways that I know of on how to fix your Xbox Live connection and internet problems. I show you the ways that I always use when I'm having trouble with my connection because I always have a new problem that needs solving. I also give you some guidelines (NOT SHOWN ON SCREEN) on how to troubleshoot and reset your router/modem. you can stay and listen to that if you've lost all hope, or you can just watch the Xbox Part, whatever you want. Sometimes, I can play for hours on end with no issue at all, but then sometimes it barely goes for 5 minutes without disconnecting me. It's pure rage fuel

Ya I had a problem with that once. Try disabling your internet security and then go sign on. After that, restart your router and everything.

+Miles Kelly Ok I got you. So what I had to do was disable my Internet security. And I went and turned everything back on and it worked and then, you do want to have Internet security so try putting it on the lowest setting and try it and then try putting it on the next setting and try it and so on. Sometimes Internet security is too strong for your Xbox to connect. Get back to me and we'll see if that's the problem

I’m trying to play a Xbox 360 game on Xbox One (Backwards Compatible) but when I try to connect to Xbox Live with my Xbox 360 Account, it gives a message saying It cannot connect to Xbox Live, and it gives me a error code, Which it’s *80151906*
Is it just me? Or is it that everybody is having the same issue when you try to play a Backwards Compatible game?

Guys first I removed all apps (Netflix, TH-cam, ... and Dashboard) then I shut down my xbox 360 by holding power button for around 10-15 sec. Unplugged it from electricity for around 10 sec. Plug it in again, power up and the problem was immediately fixed. Can't tell for sure which one fixed it though.

The problem was my xbox couldn't connect to my router so I moved my xbox a bit to the left and it started working. :)

I did it manually then it said you can connect to xbox live but your internet configuration may limit to your xbox live experience then you just do it automatically then test connection it should work

So when that happens, it's usually on their end. I've only had that happen like twice and the one time I called them they told me it was their fault. The other time it was my router being a butthole. So if nothing works then it's most likely their problem.

What is your nat type?
I have an open nat type. If it's ever anything besides open then just test your connection and it usually fixes it. I haven't had a problem with that not working yet.

If you guys still having these problems what fixed my problem was turning off my xbox and connected to the router wired connection. That fixed my problem and after that turn off your xbox and disconnect the cable and it automatically will be wireless connection and you won't have to do much.

Try deleting your profile and redownloading it. That's what I'm did when that crap happened to me.

TealPower 76 that's pretty much my problem as well, i did just about everything, such as : delete profile, re download it, and unplug router. Like if i would of play advance warefare or etc online i will be kicked out by random saying, you must be on Xbox live to play multiplier. i am fine on the dashboard and netflix but other then that nah..

Split Waffle i sort off did some off your idea like unplug it for some time /delete profil... and i don't think someone is hitting me offline because it does it every single when ever i start playing day or night and the idea that someone is using my connection is just no possible cause it's password protected and no one in my house can use it i mean it work smoothly on my computer no problem what so ever but on xbox live like litterally 45 or so i get disconnect no matter where either in game or not/day or night... i mean i tried every possible solution known and nothing really helped me... i was thinking to get a 4g connection or fibre optic maybe that could halp but my connection is pretty fast so... it's just irretating i was just thinking you might have an idea that i didn't hear about that might work i mean i looked every site/forum/blog even random chat's and nothing :/

P.S: I m using a wired connection i can switch it to wireless if you think that might help
Wow that really blows man. I'm sorry that' nothing's working for you. Ya whenever i left it unplugged for a while it would eventually fix. He only other thing I could say to try is to have you ISP privately ping your router or maybe you can go and mess with every setting you have on your ISP's site. That's what I did. I would look for any troubleshooting things and that's how I would fix stuff. But ya, sorry if I was no help. That usually never happens. Good luck to you.

OMG YASSS AFTER 2 years I finally got my Xbox live working thanks to this video OMG
Ill sign in and it be all good but when im playing for a good 5-20 it will disconnect me and than error 80101590e i believe will show. Ill try to connect again and the cycle repeats. Ive done the configuring and resetting the router. I've researched how to portforward but i have very little knowledge how. Please help me!
The port forwarding is stupid. When I did it, it made it so I couldn't even use other devices on my router because of how stupid it is. So I wouldn't recommend doing that. In these really strange cases, it could be something as simple as moving your Xbox to the side a little more, or something really random like turning down your firewall security. And to be honest, that's what my problem was, my two random problems I had that made 0 sense, were the firewall settings(because too strong cause badass) and the router gateway needing a hard reset. So if you haven't, just mess with some stuff and see what happens. At this point it doesn't even matter. So call you Isp providers and have them do something or you can just restart your stuff, leave it unplugged for a long time, try moving your Xbox, do a different connection from Xbox to router etc. I would recommend deleting your profile, reset the Xbox to factory defaults, then do the same to your router, leave it unplugged for a while. Then go get all your stuff put back in and rebooted and profile redownloaded and all that and just see what happens. That's all I did was just messed with shit and figured out what can make things work and not work. Good luck to you.

If you are here on your phone and wondering if you can go to router settings via android only.. Go to play store and look for IP Tools. In IP tools on main page of the app there's a drop down menus on top right. Tap it, click router menus.
delete xbox live update and re-download it helps a lot of problems

Usual that means that there's something wrong with your connection to the Xbox live service. Just do a hard restart in your router and delete your information for your wifi connection on your Xbox. Then go type it all back in after your router has rebooted.

Ok so I found out how to fix this! You don't need to buy a new 200$ router, you just simply ask either your parents or your ISP if you have purchased the highest internet speed possible. I don't know why the standards for a good internet connection has gone up but apparently it has because when my mom called my ISP (Comcast) and she got the highest speed this stopped happening on every game! Just make sure to wait ten minutes to play and if it has "Network connection lost" if you get disconnected just unplug your router for 10 minutes and plug it back in! Done! Hope this works for you guys!
Ok ya you are right but most people including myself, already have the best routers that are offered to you. Comcast only has a couple routers that even support gaming systems. And one of the few is the best one they have on the market. And yes as o have said millions of times, unplug your router for 10 minutes or just do a hard reset. Another thing you can do is leave it unplugged for a couple hours. So if your going out somewhere and nobody's gonna use your internet, unplug it and leave it unplugged until you come back and feel the need to play again. If you do this you can possibly get a new IP address which can re route your internet path.

Bro, I had the same issue, and I'm still confused about the need to connect to Xbox Live or not for various update and backwards compatibility support etc, as I had not connected my Xbox 360 online for about 10 years, and I know that Xbox Live is being taken down for Xbox 360 by July 2024...
So I had a 2015 updated "Dashboard" (OS interface), and I wanted to play OG Xbox game TES3 Morrowind on my 360, and I knew in advance that there was some confusion about this game's "backwards compatibility" on the Xbox 360 from online forum info.
No surprise, when I loaded the Morrowind Xbox disk, I got a prompt asking me to download an "update" and I searched up the given Xbox website for info, which informed me that online backwards compatibility support for "Original Xbox" had been discontinued... Even so, my next plan was to try to download an update for the "Dashboard" (OS interface) and hope that this would make a difference to backwards compatibility support.
I tried using my Xbox 360 wireless "Network Adapter" (modem antenna), unused for about 10 years, which still appeared to work although possibly only when plugged into one of the front USB sockets (?). However, the results were inconclusive as the download progress bar was barely moving and seemed to abort even after apparently complete, or sometimes at random moments of progress. Ultimately, any attempt to troubleshoot my Xbox 360 internet connection gave me that "ICMP Error" message.
After some web research, I concluded that the Xbox 360 "Network Adapter" is not compatible with recent improvements in Wifi router bandwidth, possibly the change from 20 Mhz to 40 Mhz, although I still don't know whether there is any way of checking that.
Long story short, and perhaps most helpful for your information, I decided to take the trouble of moving my (smallish) old SONY LCD tv and Xbox 360 into my hallway so that I could plug it straight into my internet router using an ethernet cable, and this worked perfectly to download the latest Dashboard update! The latest update should be Dashboard: 2.0.17559.0 (from 2019). You can check for this under System/ Console Settings/ System Info.
Ultimately for me, this still did not solve my backwards compatibility issue to be able to play TES3 Morrowind on the Xbox 360, and I got the same prompt asking me to download an "update" as before, with the same problem of the backwards compatibility online support being discontinued...
But then another thought hit me: with my older (2015) Dashboard update, I was able to load and play Star Wars KOTOR from the Original Xbox disk. So I wondered what would happen if I tried to load that disk again, whilst connected online using an ethernet cable. I used the Force... and it worked! By some combination of this setup, I was given a prompt box to download some support update (I was too excited to read what it was called...) !
So I guess you could say: I used the "Force"d update method ???

+FSM B33Z that's your Xboxs connection to the router. Just disconnect your Xbox from your wifi and then turn it off then go reset your router and hold the reset button for 10 seconds. Also unplug the router and leave it unplugged for as long as you want. 5-10 minutes should be good. Then reconfigure everything. Another note, if your Xbox is automatically finding your setting in the configure setting tab, try switching it to manual. All you do is see what the automatic numbers say but copy them to manual. If they are all 0, then forget about it and just so the resets I described first.

IF the network is not connecting to the internet then go to xfinity router settings , set to minimal low security and then try again . IT SHOULD WORK. I just did it in like 10 seconds .

If you guys are experiencing problems at the moment it's because Xbox live is down right now. It's not down for everyone, but in certain areas it is. It's down for me to. It has nothing to do with your internet. It all depends on your location. In not sure where it's all hitting us at, but some parts of the world are experiencing Xbox live connectivity issues. So go the fuck outside.

I have always just reset my network settings to factory defaults. This time it wasn't working. I was able to connect with my other xbox but no matter what I tried my xbox would not connect.

If this does not work you can goto: "System" --> "Console Settings" --> "Console Name" --> "Custom..." change the name and try reconnecting. This works if you can't make the "first" connection to your router/modem network.
I go into configure network and under all the settings those numbers are just all 0. And where it says wireless mode, it says not connected

in the past I was connected to Xbox Live but it required internet from me so I connected and managed to connect to Xbox Live and that's how the games are developed and everything but after a few months unfortunately the internet suddenly disconnected from me automatically I don't know why, I tried to connect to the internet it wouldn't let me I took it out and put it in the console and also in the TV converter box the cables and it still doesn't happen because it says to me that the Internet and Xbox Live are blocked, including Network Failed. Reset your router and Xbox configuration settings then turn your Xbox off and back on and it should or or you with a message about your adapter. Then just type your settings back in and it should glow green.

All you need to do is reset to factory settings at wired and wireless internet connection. If that doesn't work then check your internet bills (one of my problems).

My Xbox worked fine and now all of a sudden the internet to Xbox live part simply will not connect. My internet is fine. it worked before, and I have not changed any settings on my router since It last worked.
