The advice that has helped me most was in a book where the author met johan cruyff. Cruyff said to mirror what you would do with your arm when taking a shot with your strong foot. Specifically throw your opposite arm out for balance. This comes naturally on the strong side but must be learned in the weak side.
No problem bro I play as a striker and am very good with my strong foot and suck at my weak at even passing . So far I have improved my passing and dribbles and confident to use both but only for shooting I usually go for my strong ..
@@thegoat221 look at how your arm is positioned when you take a shot with your strong foot, then try and take a shot with your weak foot. Do something like record yourself, analyse the footage and try and replicate the exact arm movement that you do to take a shot with your strong foot, to your weak foot. My weak foot was so bad before this, simply because the movement of my core/arms was bad, and now after practicing and getting used to it, I am so much better
True man. I hated using my weak foot but now I adore it, as a cdm, it makes me feel more well rounded and less predictable. Every time I go out to play, I always play against older people, I'm 18 now, but before when I was 16, I would play against 25+ and they're all always fast and adaptable, and that inspired me to work on my weak foot to always adapt in certain situations
@@LazyCrazyNoob i play cm/box to box in a 4-5-1 with a defensive midfielder and i feel like i have a rlly good weak foot when it comes to short pass, shooting (not with the inside) and tecknique/touches/ first touches which is my best quality. Im not too good at coming under the ball with my inside, like a long pass or even just a shoot with my inside. I often struggle a bit to get under it and get that beautiful long ball going. Im not shit on it but i want to improve and get more confident with my weak foot passes. Do you know how to improve that? (Getting under it and get a nice backspin long ball)
@@snipsxd7967 honestly the way I got better was just by playing with only my left. As in, make your weak foot your strong foot, pretty much like you're just learning how to play. No idea on how to improve certain ways to pass and what not, because I don't really think about it I just do whats optimal in certain situations.
I started training my weak foot about 2-3 years ago and I can say it’s at my strong foot’s level now. I didn’t train on a daily basis tho, I didn’t have a constant schedule. So I think everyone can massively improve their weak foot in about one year’s time
@@graceplank5044 basically I did some running with the ball, shooting, juggling, anything I felt like doing. I tried to make my weak foot be able to do whatever my strong foot does. After a bit of time, I started using my weak foot more while playing in matches with my friends, to get used to more difficult situations.
Hey guys I just wanna add something.. See cz like I been training my weak foot for a while now and I've noticed some common misconceptions that we all do. See when your training your weaker foot its better to put your foot in situations where youd rather use your strong foot, like if your trying a skill rather use your weaker foot and the most important thing is your body position-if you're doing an elasico with your strong foot and your arm is usually up and your body is tilted, try mirror that when doing the same skill with your weaker foot, it's helped me and it'll also help you guys 👍
As an 11 year old i dont need to use it pretty much at all bit i started training on shooting mostly because if i cant shoot the ball in the air then im not gonna cross it but this is a good tip started traing it about a week ago and i take my hand up to my shoulder mirrored it and shot a LOT stronger
Sebastian Marks keep using it because when u get to the age 13/14 and everybody starts growing they will be stronger and therefore you will need both feet so if they force you to go one way u can still use your weak foot to score or pass!
Within the first month of light extra practice I already saw a huge amount of improvement on my week foot twice. I sprained it so I had to start over on 2 months worth of work. My passing improved immediately and I feel way more confident in games receiving and passing with it. My shooting is rough but I’m not scared to shoot with it anymore. And my pings which is what I want to learn the most are my roughest but now that the season is over and I can work on my own these pings are gonna be crazy.
Tip: the week foot is not just about your foot, actually, the main thing is your upper body (chest, core, arms) while you use the week foot. Try to mirror your upper movement with your strong foot when you use the week one This would help a lot Good luck!
For me getting really good with weak foot was as simple as kicking it against a wall for a week straight, practicing control, power and all the shooting techniques. Hardest things to learn is technique as it just doesn’t feel right and it takes time to build up power and strength. And of course power can be achieved with better technique. But basically just use your weak foot and only your weak foot for ages. Got to a point for me where doing anything I was using my left foot even when I finished training it. I was stuck using my weak foot lol. I had to do the same again then training a week on my right (stronger)foot. Then it was when I was capable of using both. So I now have my right foot for power and left foot for better technique, curve and placement. That’s my experience with it. I’ve screwed up my right leg somehow and when my leg is straight my right foot points outwards slightly. No idea why if it’s just from playing football constantly and it’s moved as I’ve grown but that’s made it harder for me to get my technique right on my stronger foot. So being able to use both feet it good for everyone 👍🏻
Hello all. I'm primarily left footed, but am very comfortable with my right as well. The only thing I would probably need to work on regarding my weaker foot is some more power (something I need as on my strong foot as well😅). Something I find most useful is using my weak foot in as many real game situations as possible. I shoot, pass, dribble, all of the above, with my right foot. I've even scored a hattrick with my weak foot during a game. As a versatile player who can play practically anywhere in the midfield or up front, I really value the importance of being able to use both feet. Thanks for the video Unisport and best wishes to one and all

JayMike...really appreciate the advice, honesty and self-examination. You nailed the first trick to working on your weak side: be humble enough to know it needs work! One thing I would add is to do a visualization in a mirror without a ball (full length mirror if you have one in your home or pull a hanging wall mirror down for 5-10 minutes and place on the ground at an angle). Stand some bit away - a lunge distance or so - and do an instep passing motion with your strong side that represents both a tapped pass or tiki taka and a driven through ball. Repeat 5-10 times while looking at the mirror so you ingrain a visual representation of your natural/comfortable kicking motion in your mind. Focus in on what muscles in both legs are being activated during the kick motion - from the planting of your weak foot (by the side of a ball) to the strong foot swing and follow through. Then see what it looks like in the mirror while trying to emulate both passing types on your weak side. This works best right before going to team training or individual practice session. Then follow JayMike's instructions in this video when you actually have a ball on feet. Above all else - and like JayMike alluded to - work on it. I always admired Santi Cazorla. Watching him take inswinging and outswinging corners from either side floored me and motivated me to work on my weak foot tremendously. Find a player you like and study his game. Greenwood is a fair example. I would also consider Nani, Pedro and Son Heung-min as established and "naturally" ambidextrous footballers to observe. They run at pace and have both power and curling shots off either side. Really technically gifted athletes.
I've not really had a weak weak foot but it has recently improved a lot. Like two days ago I scored a joke of a goal with it by using my body to hold the defenders back and then turning to my left foot and shooting out of the box
I used to be very bad at my weak foot bc I never really play with it. But then I practiced writing with my left hand for fun and voila when I played football again my weak foot(left) just automatically became more dexterous.
My weak foot is ok at shooting, I can do power and chips mostly with it, I just can’t do normal shots or there off target or too weak, I only use my weak foot when I’m close to just like smack it a little to score and for crosses if needed, as a winger, crosses are key
This is a long point so please bear with me! 😅 Whether training on your own or with a team; start off slow on your weak foot so you can get the technique down. Then as you get better with time you can speed up. For example if you’re doing dribbling drills you can start off with easier drills and then make it more difficult over time the better you get. A good example of this is when dribbling between cones; start off with a bigger space between the cones and then the better you get you can shorten the distance between the cones. Finally try to use your weak foot more than your strong foot but don’t forget your strong foot entirely. You can use your strong foot as a guide on how to get better using your weak foot because what you do on one foot you naturally do on the other. The only difference is the foot you use. Hope this helps and good luck. 👍
I’ve been working on my weak foot for 2 years. Now, I’m 14 and I’m pretty good with it. It feels comfortable and I am able to dribble, pass, shoot, etc.
Am I the only left footer who gets annoyed that like every drill I ever do in training is always right footed and then they only do a little bit of 'weak foot practice' of that drill afterwards without accounting for me and like one other guy being left footed
Can you guys please do a tutorial episode on how to do the skill Nigerian footballer, Jay-Jay Okocha usually use to torment and easily get past defenders, during his days at bolton. Thank you guys!!!🙏🙏🙏
The first thing I did to improve my weak foot was to improve my thoughts on my weak foot, imagine it being better than my stronger foot, the second thing was, I stood on my strong foot and kicked air(no ball) with my weak foot, the third was, I hit the ball ⚽ on a wall and received it back with my weak foot contently till it became better.
Bro thank you so much before I watched this video my left foot was terrible and had no power but after the video my accuracy is amazing and my power has gotten a lot better. Thank you for the video
These tips are the exact things I did to improve my weak foot. Trust me. It will improve your game tremendously to be two footed. The only tip I might add is to find large bare wall where you can practice blasting the ball at. Saves you a lot of time of having to pick the ball instead of shooting at goal. Don't just blast away mindlessly, of course. Pick a spot and aim for it. You can also use it to practice your passing like Unisport did. Of course, also practice dribbling drills for both outside and inside of your weak foot as you would for your strong foot.
Yeah I noticed that too when I started to kick with my left foot. I've been trying to master curving the ball with my right foot but it just doesn't happen. When all of a sudden I start to kick with my left foot and it's like bruh, im going to take free kicks with my left foot and shoot knuckleballs with my right.
@@16crackunknowingly68 tbh I think it's just how you position yourself and strike the ball. Because since your not used to kicking with your weak foot, you obviously position your body differently than you would with your strong foot
P.S. - this is my alt account I am left footed and always wanted to use my right. So everyday I would do 40 one legged squats with my right foot, at practice I would constantly switch to my right and I was faking better and doing dribbles better. Now all I had to do is work on shot for shots I took two hours everyday fixing my posture on my right to be like my left. I am so much better at playing and this vid is just a cherry on top. Unisport
I am just saying from my experience , I found that when I strike with my weak foot the standing foot was close to the ball which made it difficult for me to strike it powerful
Yokino Spice that comes from training it. Shooting, passing against walls, long passing, juggling. I become more comfortable with it. Before quarantine my body positioning was too bad for my left to do any well. I practiced all the things I listed above, and now I can hit it with more accuracy and with different parts of the foot. Laces, inside, outside. Etc. hope this helped! Stay safe y’all!

2 days ago I made a long shot with my weak foot it was DEADLY I’ve been working on it for months now I’m boss with weak foot and I made it in a real game
Weird story, I used to struggle a lot with my lefty but for some reason I could hit unreal volleys and good curve balls using the inside of it but for the life of me couldn’t use my laces... I went to a full time team and found out from the physio my left hips lower than my right so I felt awkward because I’d adjust my leg subliminally to not smash my toe into the floor 😂😂😂

People just think he doesn’t because he has 4* on FIFA
Ronaldo: " wait, what weak foot?"
Nah his weak foot is overrated
Neymar's is better
Amaan Siddiqui change that to greenwood now
He could even kick knuckleballs with his weak foot tho
Idris Raheem it really isn’t.
Idris Raheem overrated weak foot lmao what
I've not really had a weak weak foot but it has recently improved a lot. Like two days ago I scored a joke of a goal with it by using my body to hold the defenders back and then turning to my left foot and shooting out of the box
Hello unisport 👋🏻😃, perfect timing for this video as I want to take all this time I got for improving my weak foot
What's your weak foot mines my left foot

Mines my right

Qaresma : Just forget about the weak foot we have the trivela 🔥
Thank you that helped alot 😊
With these type of tutorials, u guys are building some football BEASTS out there.
This video is so Helpfull, I am right footed and i know that left foot has more curve on ball and good movement also compare to Right Foot..
pov: you clicked newest comments to see who Talkin bout greenwood🤣
I’ve been working on my weak foot for 2 years. Now, I’m 14 and I’m pretty good with it. It feels comfortable and I am able to dribble, pass, shoot, etc.
How did u practice dribbling with ur weak foot?
"Don't wait till your 25 to learn"
Me watching this at age 25
Great video Jay!
When I grow up i want to be the best forward in the world
👏👏🙌
Good Luck!
Guys I taught my son to use left in football and now he is playing in the big league for my state
Am I the only left footer who gets annoyed that like every drill I ever do in training is always right footed and then they only do a little bit of 'weak foot practice' of that drill afterwards without accounting for me and like one other guy being left footed
TheFlightShow when they say right foot they mean strong foot. Just use ur left
blessing in disguise?
I've seen videos with volley nets set up for right footers so it makes it way more difficult to score if you're left footed
I'm left and the always put it in right foot easier angles
@@ghosty_sz1750 yeah exactly
Unisport is the best..👏🏻👏🏻👌🏻
Going to do this ASAP
Thanks unisport , really need this 🙌🤩

More than a video, unisport is a football wisdom channel
Can you guys please do a tutorial episode on how to do the skill Nigerian footballer, Jay-Jay Okocha usually use to torment and easily get past defenders, during his days at bolton.
Thank you guys!!!🙏🙏🙏
The first thing I did to improve my weak foot was to improve my thoughts on my weak foot, imagine it being better than my stronger foot, the second thing was, I stood on my strong foot and kicked air(no ball) with my weak foot, the third was, I hit the ball ⚽ on a wall and received it back with my weak foot contently till it became better.
Who else agrees that training your weak foot is one of the most frustrating things in football
Great video very helpful

Bro thank you so much before I watched this video my left foot was terrible and had no power but after the video my accuracy is amazing and my power has gotten a lot better. Thank you for the video
To be honest I actually use both of my feet, my right foot is the strong foot but my left also feels like a strong foot
I play left wing as a none left footed player. This video helped me a lot on improving my cut in shots and crosses.
Mason Greenwood: What's a weak foot?
These tips are the exact things I did to improve my weak foot. Trust me. It will improve your game tremendously to be two footed. The only tip I might add is to find large bare wall where you can practice blasting the ball at. Saves you a lot of time of having to pick the ball instead of shooting at goal. Don't just blast away mindlessly, of course. Pick a spot and aim for it. You can also use it to practice your passing like Unisport did. Of course, also practice dribbling drills for both outside and inside of your weak foot as you would for your strong foot.
I am 43, i play 5 times a week and my weak feet is getting better. I even score with ma weak foot. Never too late to start
I’m 10 and this is great advice
usually when your weak foot getting stronger, you automatically curve the ball
Yeah I noticed that too when I started to kick with my left foot. I've been trying to master curving the ball with my right foot but it just doesn't happen. When all of a sudden I start to kick with my left foot and it's like bruh, im going to take free kicks with my left foot and shoot knuckleballs with my right.
Adan on Pi lol half Messi half ronaldo
Adan on Pi I tried learning to do the curve shot with my left but with my weak foot I can do it easily how???
i can shoot knuckleball with my left foot because i'm left footed. i'm just practicing knuckleball with my right foot
@@16crackunknowingly68 tbh I think it's just how you position yourself and strike the ball. Because since your not used to kicking with your weak foot, you obviously position your body differently than you would with your strong foot
P.S. - this is my alt account
I am left footed and always wanted to use my right.
Unisport
At least he can actually use his weak foot because I can’t 😂
same ;(
Jay is just the person , he can read our mind
I am just saying from my experience , I found that when I strike with my weak foot the standing foot was close to the ball which made it difficult for me to strike it powerful
Yokino Spice I used to be this way but you just have to keep practicing. Leaning to the side a bit and focusing on my follow through helped me a lot
@Yokino Spice 😁
Thanks a lot. I was just waiting for this kind of video. Thanks a lot.
Guys my tip tht really helped me is start with juggling with yr weak foot like me l made a schedule l juggled 20000 times for comfort then started going to dribbling and l got good in time so the process took me a months so l am not saying it will also take u months it can take u longer l used to practice 5 hours a day so thts my tip if it works

Said everything I’ve been trying to tell my son. Well done. ⚽️
This really helped. I usually kick with my left foot and i only use my right for skills but with this video i can kick well with both feet.
I can't even touch the ball with my left foot 🥵🥵🥵
I've been waiting for this vid. Thanks Unisport!

Just trivela simple. I never use my left
