Sendy C no, the computer does not know the volume of oil, it’s a calculation for oil break down or the reduction of viscosity, “dirty oil”. If you add 1L of oil without draining 1L you will have too much oil in your car.
Sendy C sorry I did not get to your comment, I’m sure it’s way too late now but, the oil life does not measure the amount of oil in the engine, it’s just a calculation of the “ wear” on the oil. And it never resets automatically, The person doing the oil change has to do it the same as in this video.

Sha Money I’m not sure where you got “no oil in the car from” this video only shows how to reset the oil life, in the computer, nothing about the oil change or oil level.
Steve's HONDA stuff that’s why I was wondering do the oil change bring it back to 100 now that you broken it down to me thanks because I was thinking when u put the oil in u have to reset it back to 100 by yourself I’m just confused lol so by u doing that the car will run better what’s the feedback on doing that
Sha Money ok so the car will not run better after an oil change, the oil is there to stop metal on metal contact, the maintenance minder is an oil life calculation based on run time, engine load, temperature and a few other inputs. You can change the oil 100 times the computer would never know, you could reset the minder 100 times in a row and this would not affect the car in any way. I wouldn’t do either of those because then the computer would be out of sync with what’s physically in the car. For example you could buy a used car and the previous owner may never have changed the oil and just reset the minder the only way to tell is to check the oil.

No. All it does is calculates thru "mileage". I believe oil changes are every 6k miles.

You did not explain the reset process takes place while you're in the accessory mode so other people may not be able to reset their oil light.
