How to find the shutter count on a Fuji XT3 / XT4 (and why it doesn't really matter)

- Here's how to find the shutter count on a Fujifilm XT3, XT4 and many other Fuji X camera's. Now you know how to find it, does it really matter that much? I think there's more important things to look out for!

I've taken many thousands of photos but the last photo from the camera shows a shutter count of 88 on the website, hmmm - it's a Fuji X-T3
According to this website my 6 year old X-T3 only has 2566 actuations despite being used daily and often shooting 500 shots in a day LOL.
The reason people like to know the shutter count is mostly for warranty. If my shutter is failing and its only up 82,000..that's a warranty repair. If it 267,000..that's expected use and needs to be replaced.Fuji is also notorious that when you turn the camera on or off, that's a shutter count. If you take a RAW and jpeg, that's two two counts. If yu take brackets simulations..that's 3 shutter counts.
Neither of these websites will give accurate shutter count information, nor will exifdata. Fuji cameras reset to zero after 32,000 shots or so. Exifdata greybeard and apotelyt all show 5,000 shots on my X-T2 that has well over 100,000 shots, probably closer to 200,000. exifdata greybeard and apotelyt will NEVER show a shutter count higher than 32,000 something

@@DieterVanHolder Check for yourself..One time you'll check and you'll have 25,000, you'll shoot for a month or 2, check again and have 4,000.. This is a known issue, maybe not widely known, but can be found on different forums.. I have never found a way to get accurate shutter counts on Fuji cameras, other than sending them to Fuji.. but Exiftool and apotelyt will NEVER show more than 32,000 something shots
I have a used X-T2 and the tools on line indicate I have 482 actuations. This could not be correct. I'll take it though as I'm trying to sell it but still. Have you heard about getting accurate counts on the X-T2? Great point on port inspections! Also, battery terminal connections and last but not least the sensor.
That is very strange! By the way. Instead of selling it have you considered having it converted to an infrared sensor? :)

After 32,000 shots (not the exact number but somewhere very close) it will reset to zero. I've had an X-T2 for 3 years and it shows 5,000 or so, and I shoot that in a week sometimes, I have at least 100,000 shots, maybe closer to 200,000.
does it only count the mechanical shutter? maybe you have taken alot of photos with electronic shutter?

At the time I worked as a mountain guide so I was on the road a lot. I'm currently a high school teacher in Belgium, which means frequent weeks off and all summer off.

if you hammer on the shutter @ Max FPS you can easily hit 300K+ in a few years. however I think at that point you have gotten your money's worth from it. doing timelapse its easy to hit 300K too....
