I don't know the right words to express how powerful this song was back in the day. The vocal harmonies and the massive groove was addictive. I had never heard anything like it......... I played it over and over and over and over again. Godz I miss those days. I was 14/15 years old.

One of my all-time favourite songs, too.
Clapton, Bruce, and Baker combine just the right amount of energetic guitar, tambourine, jazzy drums, and dreamy harmonies on this vibrant, refreshing song.
The slow motion, black-and-white footage amidst the park is just so perfect for the sound.
The Monty Python-like horseplay adds enjoyable humour.

I've been looking for this song for over a decade. I only heard it once in Film class used for a mafia film someone made. I was watching The Sopranos this week for the first time and this was one of the ending credit songs, I couldn't believe it finally caught up to me in my life eventually. It's funny how things happen like that, and what a name, "I Feel Free" indeed.
I even tried humming it for Google tune search and I never could find the song until today.

I wish that they would release a 2 cd deluxe edition of the "Fresh Cream" album. The "Fresh Cream" era recordings rank alongside the classic John Mayall & Bluesbreakers & Graham Bond Organisation recordings of the time as some of the best. Cream really had it together when they made their first recordings. Give it a listen & see why.

Fantastic song, one of Cream's best for me. I just wish the dirty-sounding rhythm guitar, Jack Bruce's great bassline & the one-note pounding piano were louder in the mix.. but they wanted the vocal harmonies to be heard clearly - I guess... a cool vintage 'video' as well (although it cuts the song slightly shorter than it is).
Great upload. Thanks for posting this!

First time I heard this was on the BS net...sitting in my OP at a firebase in Quang Tri province....1966. Sun was going down. I hear this and it's like it was yesterday.

While I've liked this song since I was a kid, I still picture Tony Soprano's nearly being shot as soon as this song begins, when the bullet hit his bottle of orange juice, ending the season, but him living. With that and this song accompanying the scene, you knew shit was about to get really real after that!

Clapton’s howling lead guitar and Gingers masterly syncopating percussion with Jack Bruce’s driving bass rhythm and beautiful vocals are an unequalled combination. It’s basically witchcraft, like listening to a band of 6 or more musicians, extraordinary talent.

Eric played it cool - he did not drop his cigarette, even while running crazily uphill in a monk's robes & falling down. Cheers, '62 Mathew St. (Total Retro Rock)
