    I bought this nail gun as we were planning to renew all the fencing in our back garden. As this involved 19 double slatted fence panels, 10 of which needed to be cut down in size, we knew there would be a need for a great th-cam.com/users/postUgkxHQsUrwNr5GQrnx9V4xDdUr56qxwuiBHt deal of re-stapling the wooden slats to the wooden framework. Each alteration required the re-stapling of 62 wooden slats with double staples. Prior to starting the work we ordered sufficient additional staples as per the instructions with the gun.The gun performed fantastically throughout the entire project with no jams of misfires. The adjustable power was excellent allowing the staples to be fired into the 8mm slats to the correct depth. For the price paid this was a bargain and it proved itself to be so reliable and versatile making an arduous task much quicker and professional. I cannot recommend this product highly enough and it will be used on many other projects in the future.

    I've had two of the first fix guns. I sold the first one as it didn't sink the nails in and improved my swear vocabulary. Bought the 1st and 2nd fix twin pack and gave it another go after reading the machine "beds in" after 1000-1500 nails. I persisted and it sinks 90mm nails easliy now

    I've got the Dewalt , and only use 63mm nails max on hardwood . I've put 90mm nails on single shot overhead but bounce back is awful . Bump mode is very good . The wind up can get irritating . Works best on smaller nails imo .

      Google Isevil - No issues re weight on either of my Hitachi guns. They’re comparable to
      Just about every other brands.
      My main concern when choosing was which brand has the highest quality and would not interfere with hardwood.
      Not only that, but you can see the MASSIVE sound difference from both the Dewalt and Hitachi on this video.

    ive fired over 10k nails with dewalt, i find the only way to get all the power with it is on bump fire mode, using the momentum to not let it kick you back putting the energy into the nail, for over head work i prefer my paslode due to wait

      gen 2 was trouble from day one no power took over a year to come a little better now it’s serviced it’s better

      I think the dewalt impact drill in terms of power is stronger than anything else on the market. My impact drives 6 inch SDS screws into PSL quick. Downside is the chuck spring in the impact breaks easy- already had to replace mine.
      Pro tip- Don't buy Dewalt tapes at all. Buy Milwaukee or that random brand Komelon. My komelon has lasted me 6 months already of HEAVY use. The dewalts lasted me like... 2-4 weeks. Seriously.

    Greetings from the Midwest in the US. Enjoy your videos. Been in the market for a framing nailer and I been using a Paslode but been considering the Hitachi or possibly the Milwaukee, when it finally comes out. I guess the DuhWalt will work if you only do new frame construction, like you, I get into old hardwood framing timber here and even the Paslode has problems sometimes. I can see why you like that green monster. Would love to see a comparison between the Hitachi and the Milwaukee someday.

    We tried out the dewalt electric framers for 6 months stick framing and they are useless, every 10k nails you are ment to service it with a spring kit, within 1-2k nails on a new springs the nails will start staying proud even in lower grade pine. The drive pin wears out really quickly too and will start snapping nail heads and get them stuck in the shaft. We bought 3 of them and 2 out of 3 had that specific problem, all of them left nails proud.

    Hey Scott, we were given some DeWalt tools to test a few months back. We were not happy with any of them. The strap nailer for structural nails jammed so bad after the third nail that we couldn't even get it cleared, and the framing nailer is junk! We never have any luck with it inconsistently sinks nails, jams easily, long ramp up time before firing, and don't even think about putting it on the rapid mode! We sent all the tools back with significant issues with all of them. They definately need to step up their tools if they want to stay on a professional jobsite.

    That’s the type 2 gun, we have the type 2 and 3 and the 3 is miles ahead, drives nails much better than the 2 and is quieter as well

      Not had any issues with mine either. Need to run a few thou nails through it to beak it in initially but only falters with 90mm rims in gnarly timber.
      Second fix gun Trump's everything else imo

    Hey Scott, I’m a carpenter from aus and I noticed you hand nail your tile underlay, and it got me thinking... iv never seen you use a coil nailer? Do they get used in the trade in nz? If so Id love a review on the brand you use. I am currently running a paslode pneumatic coil nailer,
    Cheers bro

      we use coil nailer in nz, but not that often, normally for joist hanger nail and weather board nail. i guess scott doesn't have any space to put a compressor in his van.

Cutting through a 2x4 i gave up and pulled out the sledgehammer.. trying to cut through some 4 inch nails i burn through a ‘metal’ blade after 3... ready to throw this tool in the trash, mate!

      It's the blades mate for demo try sabersaw.. also a trick is if it starts vibrating in your hand its binding up not cutting so ease off n let it cut or support what you are cutting .. hope this helps cheers

    • @bezza1040
      @bezza1040 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      theres no vinyl adhesive out there that will bond to cement board and you install the subfloor with panel pins or stapler, NOT clouts!

      it was set on the double arrow I think?

    • @craig00000
      @craig00000 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ScottBrownCarpentry There is another power switch, hidden under the belt hook if you have it folded in, which either sets it to 75 or 90mm nails. I doubt this would be the issue as it fired them most of the way.
      As others have said, they need running in, it says it in the manual (500 nails I think) before it will fire them all the way. Being a loan gun hopefully it would have done that. Nail count can be obtained by putting it into single shot mode on that switch you mentioned - single arrow, and holding the trigger for 10 seconds. Each flash of the light is 1000 nails.
      They fire into LVL okay, maybe the old native timber is just too hard for them?
