When I rode this route back in the early 1980s, the vehicle was an old bus converted to ride on tracks, so a single car not a full train. And it was full when it reached our embarkation point, so we rode on the roof with the luggage. Fond memories...
Smooth footage, nice job! The view are phenomenal. We actually hiked down toward Alausi from high up in Pistishi, one of the highlights of our Ecuador trip!
Alausí - Sibambe is part of Guayaquil - Quito Railway, last year (also in present time i think) separated from network by some landslides. One of this can see from bus. Whole railway is strictly tourist, maybe except some rides of local railbuses, dont know.

Only the Old Fighter thought to build this marvel (José Eloy Alfaro Delgado) June 25, 1842 - January 28, 1912)
Garcia Moreno started it all and Eloy Alfaro finished the work.
Interesting Ecuador!!!
how long does the entire trip take?
how long in time
I don't remember exactly, ride down, free time around station, ride up- about 3 hours? +/-. By Train Crucero is it 3 days off course😀
