  • Here is a quick look at what you get with the Yale SR320 Smart Living Alarm system which I love and is extremely easy to use. You can add items to it so easy I would even say it's easier than the Y-Cam Protect alarm.

    Nice video - I have been using this system for nearly 1 and half years now and I love the system, so easy to set up and install yourself. I bought extra accessories like the door sensors and PIR sensors, key fobs etc. The main gripes I have with this is the notification system really needs improving as it's not good in my opinion, and you can only add up to 20 devices to the system - other than that I really like it. I may do a review video on this system one day.

    I just ordered this kit today, along with another 1x motion sensor, 2x window sensors and a couple of key fobs! Can't wait to ditch the A*T that's been part of my monthly billing cycle for the past 10 years (approx £3500 just for monitoring and "remote" system maintenance - yea, right), and this is only the equal to 1 year & 2 months subscription. I've been waiting for "mainstream" Alarm systems to mature in the "smart home" field for a few years already, and this seems to be a good place to start building - don't think I'll ever trust remote door locks though.
    Thanks for taking the time to post. ';'

      I know what you mean with the remote locks although the idea of them is so nice but you just don't know 100%. This is a great loud alarm and I personally love mine and wish I got it a long time ago.

    great review! I am struggling with choosing alarms. some people say it is good to have a "professional one" like Texecom. I just worry about the complex installing and programming. If i have someone else install it. they would charge me £1200 plus. I am convinced this Yale kit is my choice now. thanks

      Hi, thank you for the comment. I personally really like this alarm and it's much better value than some of the others out there. Additional sensors are pretty cheap to add on which is great and you can buy camera PIR sensors for in the home also.

    Is it easy to set up by yourself? I’ve just bought one for my house and the Siren box (didn’t think it would be that heavy) LOL! I just don’t want to drop off the ladder when I have to put up the siren box.
    I might just get an electrician in to fit it.

      Hi, glad you got the alarm as it's a very good one. It is pretty easy to put the siren box up and only needs a couple of holes so it could be an idea to grab a bit of cardboard and mark the position of the holes on that then go up the ladder drill them and then get the siren to install it. If it's possible get someone else you know to do it but I wouldn't waste your money getting an electrician to come and sort it out as that would cost you rather a lot. Hope this helps.

      Chris's Reviews & Unboxing's Thanks Chris! Just had mine installed today lol. I paid someone in the end to do it as I didnt want to fall off my ladders, and I prefer to be safe then sorry.
      Christ I didn’t think the siren was going to be loud but JESUS it was flaming LOUD when I forgot to disarm it 🤣🤣🤣🤣.

      It will certainly put a burglar off :)

    How secure is this, if one cuts the internet wire which is outside the house?

    • @ChrissReviewsUnboxings
      @ChrissReviewsUnboxings  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The alarm would still function but you wouldn’t be able to use the app to disarm the alarm or receive alerts.

    Does the alarm box you stick on the outside of your house have any flashing lights?

    • @ChrissReviewsUnboxings
      @ChrissReviewsUnboxings  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, it does indeed have a flashing LED in the siren box but it is set to being off normally as it would use the battery power quicker. You can change this though and switch on something called comfort LED and once turned on you can select how often you want it to flash anything from once every 5 seconds up to once every 60 seconds.

    • @virtious8
      @virtious8 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ok thanks, so whether you want lights flashing on it depends on how often you want to climb up the side of your house.

    • @ChrissReviewsUnboxings
      @ChrissReviewsUnboxings  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I personally don't think that if you had it set to once every 60 seconds the batteries would die that quickly but I couldn't say for sure without testing it. With this alarm though unlike some others the app will let you know the batteries need changing and your able to put the siren in a mode so that it wouldn't trigger the alarm while you climb the ladder and swap the batteries and this is the same for all of the connected sensors.

      I have the slightly older generation of this alarm. Comfort setting set to 30s and batteries lasted around 18 months.

    Would you recommend this alarm system? I have seen mixed reviews on amazon and also negative reviews relating to the iPhone app? Many thanks

    • @ChrissReviewsUnboxings
      @ChrissReviewsUnboxings  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, the alarm is good and I do recommend it but you are right about the iPhone app. I do find opening the app a bit on the slow side but Yale does seem to be doing more to address this. The system is nice and easy to set up and use along with additional sensors being cheap so it's worth it for a slightly slow app.

    Great video. Do you need to have the alarm box outside or can you not use it as I have an old ADT box outside. Plus when alarms go off around my way no one does anything. Thanks

    • @ChrissReviewsUnboxings
      @ChrissReviewsUnboxings  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I do have the external siren on the wall of my house and it works great. I think people just ignore alarm sirens everywhere but if it goes off a burglar wouldn’t stick around. I really like this alarm and do recommend it.

    How are you getting on with it a month later?

    • @ChrissReviewsUnboxings
      @ChrissReviewsUnboxings  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, I have to say I absolutely love this system for several reasons. It's really easy to set up and add new things to it. The alarm is very very loud!! It's easy to set n 'at home' mode so you can enable certain sensors while at home but be able to move around your home without setting it off by accident. I would recommend this alarm if you are in the market to buy one.

      Not really, assuming your neighbors don't all hate you, if you get an alarm trigger through your phone (virtually the whole planet has free data roaming via the UK mobile phone providers) you can phone a neighbor and ask them to pop round with a baseball bat. Or to let the cat out, whatever.
