    Walking outdoors in a natural enviroment is the best activity we can do to enhance our mitochondria biosynthesis, immune response and overall health. Steady walking regulates appetite, reduces sugar cravings, stimulates blood circulation, balances brain chemicals, relieves hypertension, reduces inflammation, minimizes cortisol levels and anxiety.

    • @marisa9600
      @marisa9600 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Yes, but what is the process? What is happening in your body when you are walking that impacts all of those variables? That is the knowledge I needed to help me finally learn how to lose weight. Walking is definitely a tool, but it is one of many tools you use to help bring glucose down, which in turn brings insulin down. When insulin is down, glucogon can kick in. Insulin is the hormone that stores glucose in fat, liver and muscle cells AND moves glucose into every cell in the body. In opposition, glucogon is the hormone that breaks down glucose from fat cells for energy (ie fat burning). Walking is a great way to help lowering insulin, but it is not the only way. As you mentioned, it is also a great way to lower/manage stress, which helps lower cortisol (which impacts insulin resistance). But again, there are many ways. Walking is great, but it is not the only tool to accomplish those things, which is why I appreciate this video. There are many ways, and you have to find what works for you.

    Another great video, Thank you Doctor! I have colitis, so I can't/wont eat red meat! I eat all the greens you mentioned, Kale is full of iron, broccoli too! I am constantly on the move every day - Am a carer for my wife and we have garden/s that keep me busy, I walk to the centre and to my bowling club two days a week, I do around 10.000/30.000 steps a day, I eat fish most days, but stay away from farmed salmon and tuna! My wife opens all our windows first thing in the mornings, as I put my padded jacket on! We live in Scotland! We have a few plants in the house, so we are doing all the right things in our old age!

    It's not complicated, just skip breakfast in order to fast intermittently. Don't worry, you won't die. Most people actually acclimate very quickly. I also resistance train or perform some type of aerobic exercise prior to my lunch most days. That will increase autophogy/mitophogy exponentially. I also eat until I'm comfortably full. Additionally, I consume a carnivore style diet with fruit, fermented veggies, a little dark chocolate and my guilty pleasure which is peanut butter. I'll also consume some leafy green and/or cruciferous veggies now and then. Diet, of course, is a whole other topic. Ultimately, I'd say avoid All ultra processed foods, especially seed oils. I don't have an issue with a little avocado and olive oil once in a while. Ultimately, just eat a whole food diet that you like and which works for "you". I would also recommend researching vegetable consumption and bioavailability. The fact is that yes, vegetables are loaded with vitamins and minerals, But our digestive systems aren't designed to absorb and utilize them. However, ruminant animals "are" designed to absorb and utilize them, 6 we're designed to absorb and utilize the flesh (I know it's off-putting to say) of ruminant animals. All that being said, there are definitely human beings that thrive on vegetarian diets, but they're rare. I'm not an academically trained nutritionist, but I've done a good bit of research and a lot of experimentation on myself and these are my opinions.

    I've made so many changes over the years. All glass containers down to organic sustainable foods. My most recent change is a special small elite water filter that removes even microplastic. The pitcher is plastic, but after I filter the water, I store it in glass gallon jars. .

      Yes, glass for storage. Wide mouth jars are inexpensive. Thanks forvthe tip on the filter. I have been wondering about a filter for the washing machine to filter microplastics. Better yet buy only natural fabrics. We are killing our precious water & the life therein...and ourselves.

    This video is packed with practical tips for boosting mitochondrial health and longevity! Here’s a quick recap:
    [2:10] Intermittent Fasting: A 12-hour fasting window promotes mitophagy, clearing out damaged mitochondria and improving energy. 🕒🍽
    [5:25] Avoid Overeating: Mindful eating and portion control prevent overloading your metabolism after fasting. 🥗
    [7:40] High-Quality Foods: Focus on colorful fruits and vegetables (the rainbow diet) to fuel mitochondria with antioxidants and bioactives. 🌈🥦
    [11:30] Exercise: Any activity, from walks to strength training, stimulates mitochondrial biogenesis. Move more for more energy! 🏋‍♂🚶‍♀
    [14:50] Minimize Toxins: Use natural cleaning products, glass containers, and indoor plants to reduce oxidative stress from environmental toxins. 🪴
    Dr. Li makes a strong case for how small, intentional changes can make a big impact on energy and longevity. A must-watch for anyone serious about health!" 🌟💪

    DONT BURY THE LEAD! Say up front what your title promises, what food! Also, learn about oxalates. You seem to not know the other side of the coin.

      If your attention span is that limited, you should go back towatching cartoons. Dr. Wil Li is extremely knowledgeable and generously shares his science-based information. Just about everybody posting comments here knows how to appreciate that.

    Dr Li, you lose me with your long winded stories. Make your point and then tell your endless stories.

      Wil Li is a very accomplished scientist and author. He just spent an hour of his time sharing some of his extensive research-based knowledge with us (plus a lot of time preparing this talk). If talks like this are too much for your reduced attention span, you should go back to watching cartoons. The Disney Channel has a lot of really entertaining cartoons that should be just right for you. (Hope my message wasn't too long for you.)

      Cut carbs. As long as you have a high carb intake for fuel, your body will never have to burn fat for energy.
