Outsider, I was once like you; I raised three wonderful lovely girls with my wife of thirty years. I showed my girls the outdoors and how to appreciate it. now at the age of 50, I am homebound with a disease that is crippling me. I never ask for pitty I make the best of all situations and like your family, our income dropped by over half. yet with prayer, karma, and the will of God, we have endured. To Miss Outsider, thank you for the sacrifices you make in letting Mr. Outsider produce this journey to let people like me get back to nature in some way.
It made my whole weekend to wake up to see another video from 2 of my favorite woodsmen Outsider & Senior Outsider! Hello 👋 Guys! Love ❤️ your channel & I’m praying 🙏 for you guys! 😁👍👍
It's always a good day when there's The Outsider video! Planning and pre-work isn't the fun stuff, but boy, oh boy, is it important! P.S. Seeing an eagle perched high is considered to bring good luck, suggesting that you'd be victorious in your endeavors! 👍💪😍❤️️
You're right about that! Prep work, although necessary, only shows its fruit in the final product. ...The eagle was a beautiful sight for sure. Reminded me of Isaiah 40:31.
The eagle and the buck and I are the same we’re all searching for something the eagle fish from water that has not yet frozen over the buck a mate and I a boulder 😂
I can aways see the use of all the new filming and editing technics your using like the slow motion. Great content, great views, great editing. Your really raising the bar on U tube. Nice work!
Thanks Jonathan! We are feeling a little behind, with all the curve-balls life has thrown us this year, but we don't give up easy. It'll certainly be a weight off my shoulders once we get the roof covered. Thanks for checking in!
Such beautiful colors! Bald Eagle was a nice treat. I saw many parrots here in Ft Myers Florida this morning in the palm trees. Oh no the first snow! Thanks Dale.
I've followed both you and your relative. Cabin life is an absolute pleasure. Your way of life wants me to go... somewhere... from California, US. Blessings, Keith.

Thanks for sharing your journey here, and for the added work of producing the video! I'm looking forward to the next installment! (Oh. That bald eagle!)
@@brainclerk4431 I understand your impatience ( I really enjoy each episode ) but The Outsider has a full time job during the week. He devotes one day to be home with the family so that doesn't leave a lot of time. Plus his weather window of spring to late fall ( before the big snow comes ) isn't that long. He works with his Dad some and I see that as a blessing for him. Maybe the cabin isn't going up fast but it is happening at the pace he needs it to be. Thanks for the comment.

You do a great job narrating. Your cinematography is on point. In short I really enjoy watching your eps. Hope you keep it up for a long time. Take care of yourself and your family.
9:00 Ridge poll? Please leave it at 7'... I thought you might add a roofed porch. Would look amazing and also convenient for family & friends to hang out... Just imagining, dreaming~~~ Love your video's. God Bless you & yours.
Sure is looking good and promising. You were rocking on this one... hope your plans work out. Great bit of serendipity with spotting the eagle. Thanks for sharing...
just a thought it might benefit you to dig a trench to empty the roads of water then in the summer add dirt or gravel to fill in the ditches to keep water from eroding the path or roads
Hi Harold good comment, We have had a lot of rain over several weeks, and all the low spots are full. I do dig trenches were the terrain can allow it to drain away . other spots just don;t lend themselves to it. And yes dirt and gravel (my choice is gravel) would help but that would present logistical and financial considerations not easily overcome. For now as long as the tractor will go through, the priority is getting the cabin dried in! THKS again for the comment.Cheers
You have a marvelous voice, especially when you get out the eloquence wax. I'm vaguely surprised the CBC hasn't approached you to narrate some nature documentaries.
You are right about the the leaves on the ground being beautiful. And that gorgeous black loam owes a debt of gratitude to the leaves for its rich nutritious makeup. A lot of engineering goes into that cabin. The labor is only a part of it.
Aargh ! We have to be patient again.... Thanks for yet another fascinating episode. Learned again new things.... We cross our fingers the weather gives you another window of opportunity to work on the roof before winter gets everything under its grip.
It’s truly amazing how nature has scattered those boulder around your land as if they were merely feathers in the wind. Such a beautiful area!!!! Best of luck. Stay safe.
Prep is so important, makes it seem worthwhile putting in the time and effort when it all comes together, took me 3 weeks to watch all your vids right from the ice on the window right up to the present day and your skills on the camera are certainely a boon to the observer , cheers from chilly Scotland
🌿🌲🍁This gives me a sense of satisfaction. It’s like being transported back to a child, building camps and making my own little “hangout” in the woods. I can’t wait to see the finished cabin. Beautiful setting, scenery, wildlife and home.
Beautiful shot of that Eagle. I have two huge crows that visit me every morning when i take my granddaughter to the bus stop. We always take them a bit of left overs for their breakfast. We have named them Clyde and Junella. We have had them here for several years and they never fail to visit us. I'm sure that the treats have nothing to do with it. lol. Y'all better hurry if you are gonna beat the snows, It's that time of year ya know. lol. We also have another bird that i think is an Egret that lands in our creek from time to time. we have seen him several times this year. We have tried to get a picture but i never seem to have a camera when he comes around.
Those logs would make a good start to a cordwood wood over that mud hole! The ridge pole! Yeah!! Awesome awesome job!! We got snow the other day. Just a lot of planning and thinking ahead. Good for you! Job well done!!!
I love and respect the way you make attention to detail. I know it's this that will shine at the finish. I love the way that you respect and care for the land. It's such a BEAUTIFUL property. :)
Thank you for sharing your videos and skills. I learned a lot and it gives me a lot of rest when I’m watching. So, a God bless you from the Netherlands!! Greets, JP
I really dont know how i stumbled on to your channel, but im very glad i did. I really enjoy the channel, and the way u present it is great. I wish u the best of luck and cant wait to see whats next. God bless! Thanks for the wholesome entertainment.
Amazing shots of the shivering resonance over the flexible length of the pole that you dropped at 6.10, and of the compacted unyeilding strength of the boulders you explored later. Both can be shattered if an abusive, excessive force is applied to them, and both can ring true to explain the extent of their powers if we use them in an honest and honourable way.
Ha ha ha! Nice cliff hanger ending! Gotta love it, an eagle , a deer, an outsider... All makes for a good place to be! See you up at the cabin , next time! ATB👍📐🔨😎🔨📐👍!
My honey and I so love your videos. I am constantly checking to see if a new video is up. I am praying that the first's that you and your family will be experiencing during the Holiday without your Mother will bring about a sense of peace, knowing She is simply okay. Those first's are really tough. Still praying for you young man and I admire you so much. Such a leader and good role model for so many young people. Keep on keeping on! Can't wait for you to have the roof on and a hot fire in the stove.
Love Watching you videos, and the progress on the cabin. Living in corn country, Ohio I would love to have a get away cabin like that in the middle of the woods. I like to get away from the hustle and bustle of life and feel more at home in nature. Right now I am just a woodworker that enjoys perfecting my hobby, I call it my saw dust therapy. I will take what I can get at the moment. Someday, I will have the cabin I want. Keep up the good work, stay warm and enjoy!
As always, awesome vid. As I'm watching this, I got thinking about the small cabin I plan on putting up. The foundation has me scared as I can't dig for proper footings. My idea of putting the cabin down on large concrete blocks sitting above the surface had some people scared as it's not to "code". The frost may heave the block and twist the building. Then I watch your videos and plenty of others that have their buildings on similar footings. Makes me feel better about my decision.
I've been following the build for a few years now, can't wait to see the roof on. Didn't knew you were such a poet; love how you wrap it up: "... and me... I'm looking for a boulder" :D
You have such a way with words. I loved the part about the eagal, the buck and yourself. Also like the part about having to wait until the next episode. Still praying for you and your entire family as the holidays draw near with the missing loved one. By the way ever think of selling some of that moss that grows on those rocks? I would buy it if you did.
Looks beautiful to see the snow, but I hope you will get the roof on the cabin as quickly and most importantly safely as possible. Now if people could only make nice comments instead of negative ones, that would be even better. We can only hope. Til the next one! ATB
Hi Canadian Navy Wife, A shout out to your husband for his service to our country. Tell him , a sincere Thank you for his service! And to you as well for your sacrifices as you support him.
I am very sorry about your Mom. It seems as if your family must be believers in Heaven. That sure helped me when I lost my son in 2016 and my wife in late 2017. Keep up your faith. I am very much interested in the log cabin roofing project and the finishing it out for a weatherproof abode. I had a Ferguson tractor as a child to help my dad with our farm work and planting and harvesting. It was before Massey bought out Ferguson. I think my Dad's was a '51 model and the one he got me at about 7 years old, when I could reach the pedals from the seat was a '50 model he found second hand. The horsepower on my dad's was 45 HP. It was an amazingly useful tool. Once you learn what the hydraulics and wheel ballasting could do, it could do amazing things. My dad was a journyman carpenter and a farmer before that, and after he left his dad's farm. he was into farming our 6th generation farm of an uncle on his mothers side of our family. I became his full time helper as soon as I could get on the tractor safely. After my schooling, I went into the Navy and became a SeaBee. After my completion of service, I became an open pit miner, spending much time on all kinds of equipment. I certainly am interested in how you do the log cabin roof.
Been watching since the video where you compared all you tractors. The amount you think before you move is admirable, and it saves you headache and backache, for sure. You sure get your use out of that little Franken-Poulan. I personally like Shindaiwa which are largely similiar to Echo's in an application with this much use.
Hey Bud, thank you for sharing slivers of your life and adventures with us, I love what you do. The holidays are quickly approaching, you have been through some tough times this past year and I wish you the best of the holidays.
Forgot to say hope all is well with you and your family. Building a cabin can help relief mental stress. God has a purpose for you and those you touch.
I could write a tv movie around that line... I just want a bolder....! Yeah and Pocahontas... stay away as girls stink funny or I've lost one and will never lose another, a million ideas come to mind as I have watched every youtube episode. It is nice to have that white cedar on your own land. Probably one of the most expensive woods to ever have to buy, if you wanted, and had to! Worked with that stuff as a kid up high altitude washington state near canada. Oh it will take your breath away
For awhile I was picking up boulders and bringing them home to try and sell. My wife put a sign on a tree near them that said: ROCK FOR SALE. The police were checking out the sign so I told her to change it to: LANDSCAPE rock for sale. lol I really enjoy your videos and cant wait till the next one..
Wonderful Episode and leaving us in suspense ! blessing to you and Mrs Outsider, as well as Mr Outsider Senior ! Love you episodes ,....please keep them coming
Always amazed that it is colder and there is more snow here in SW Wisconsin than where you are! We already have 6" on the ground which definitely slowed my project down! It will be 7 degrees Fahrenheit overnight tomorrow I believe. A pretty harsh November for sure. I had to rush with the roof as well, it's pretty scary having a project with an open top as winter approaches!

Nice video
Listening to your opening commentary, you have the heart of a poet.
Enjoying your journey.
Thanks Donna! :)
Aw thanks Jeanie. 🙂 Much appreciated. God bless!
Thank you for your videos. They are a step -by-step instructional video on how to build a cabin properly and safely. Thanks again
First off, Seeing a notification from the outsider first thing made my morning! Cheers
Glad to hear it!
@@TheOutsiderCabin Looking forward to the new episode!
I love watching your videos, that was a like snow falling, but I know you will get it up before the next big snow fall God bless.
Fascinating, grabbed me and now cannot wait to the next episode!
slick editing on the boulder chain hookup. :) you are bolder than most. :) the snow was lovely.
It's getting more exciting every week for those of us joining in the journey! Thanks!
Beautiful workmanship. Cheers from a fellow youtuber and off grid builder. Ontario Lakeside.
Hi Ontario Lakeside Here's a shout out to you. We are almost neighbours. All the best for your channel.
There are sick rotten people out there in YT Land!!!
Who gives a 👎 for this kid and his wonderful videos???
GOOD JOB KID
AND DAD ALSO!
ATB
I THINK YOU ARE RIGHT, TRY COVERING IT UP, TO PREVENT SNOW FROM FALLING IN
The Bald Eagle is a good omen !
Super amazing video. Thank you for sharing your whit, wisdom and whimsy. Hugs from Halifax
Hi Canadian Navy Wife, A shout out to your husband for his service to our country. Tell him , a sincere Thank you for his service! And to you as well for your sacrifices as you support him.
Fantastic angles and editing as usual.
Looking good Outsider. Dam winter it always comes to soon.
As always, a great video. Perfect purlins.
You are always so poetic, love it!
I'm subscribed to 50 or so yt'ers.... You're my fave! My 10 year old likes watching you guys work too!
Great spirit and energy...🙂
I pray that you are able to get that roof on before the BIG snowfall. I'm looking forward to your next video.
Keep the overhang at seven bud! Bigger front porch!
Well pitter patter let's get at her bud! Great editing and color and content as always. Keep it up good buddy!
Thank you my friend!
Great work, I'm waiting patiently for that roof...good video work too.
Hey man you can’t leave us hanging like that ...... I really love the cabin ❤️👍
