Good informative video - thanks. A few pointers for folks doing this themselves. 1. ALWAYS remove the negative from the car body FIRST followed buy the negative from the battery. This way, the only thing that is connected to the car is the positive and if you accidentally short the positive to a metal part you'll have no drama. If the negative was still connected you'd have a dead short and an interesting couple of minutes! 2. After removing all the bolts, REMOVE the metal strap that was giving trouble - makes taking the battery out *slightly* easier. 3. After fitting the new battery and replacing the strap and all of the bolts and connecting up, reset the BMS as follows (why provide a link??). Turn ignition on but don't start car. Flash the high beam (blue light on dash) FIVE TIMES, press the brake pedal THREE TIMES - after a few seconds, the battery warning light will flash THREE TIMES - that's it, job done!

    Really good video.
Nice to see you left the difficult parts in not like some videos who make it look easy.
The only thing I would have done was give the battery tray a goog clean then spray all over with W/D forty.
    Good vid.

Thank you. Yea I to leave the difficult bit in there so others who find that difficult will know what to expect.

Great video, just followed this to change my battery.
I found necessary to detach the air box hose to the left of the positive terminal to give me enough play to drop the battery in.

Thanks for showing the aggro in changing the battery as I'm about to do this, couple of other videos I saw are like "this this this and done", walked down the shop and walked back lugging it! Unfortunately for me, mine just died....worked, then didn't! Anyway, thanks for that as I know what I'm about to embark on!

Yea I thought it was going to be super easy. So I wanted to show what you might come across like I did. The last time I changed a battery myself was in my 1997 VW Polo. It was so simple. Everything in that car was easy to replace actually. Good times 😀

@@ZONDOdriving cheers, I've changed it now so this helped make it quicker, only thing I done differently was to take the wire bracket out which made sliding it in easier. 👍

what's that bit at 3.12 when he removes part of the cable from the battery? i can't find a plug in the battery to put the cable there

It clips into the bolt which is used to tighten the bracket which secures the battery.

Good job, buddy! Just a couple of tips for your viewers. Firstly, this job is WAY EASIER if you remove the air filter first. And secondly, you need to reset the BMS (battery monitoring system) module after you've installed a new battery on start-stop systems. Fortunately, it's really easy. This is not my video, but it's super-simple to follow. Hope this helps. th-cam.com/video/4-Uaf8lNcNo/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Azw-451EdsLqNYbF
