garet su honestly their flick is pretty good i just switched out the insoles for better boardfeel and the whole shoe was better overall. might be uncomfortable for a little bit but you get used to it after a little

I agree. I hated those insoles. No impact protection and made putting shoes on a hassle. I put the insoles from my Kyle walkers into the adidas shoes and it worked perfectly, even got a little extra room inside the shoe
John Peabody ive done the exact same for my Adidas match courts the insole they came with were pathetic
The insole are the adeprine insole midsole. So essentially you took out the midsole and insole at the same time. IDK how anyone can hate on that thicc ass bitch. I still have mine from like a year ago and my only issue with the shoe is it gets flimsy after a month or two of skating. The insole is meant to keep your foot in place soooo maybe buy longer socks or lace up a lil tighter to avoid the slipping of the sock?
I had a pair of nike sb’s and they had these insoles that were huge but you could move them around and absorbed any hard impact

So I'm not just saying this cause I work at vans, but as a skateboarder of ten years I've never seen any other shoe company have the same shoe technology for skating. All the "pro skate" vans shoes have that rubber layer called the "duracap" that pretty much makes shoes last longer, especially the canvas shoes. The ultracush insole is pretty dope too cause jumping down shit doesn't hurt lol, but some people don't like that insole so that's what fp insoles are for. But yeah pretty much, no other company does what Vans does for skateboarding shoes, and there's a reason they're known as "the best selling skate shoe"
sigh...I would love to get a random pair of shoes sent to me monthly...

If you don't like the insoles, replace them or buy different shoes. It's that simply. I have a pair of those shoes (they're called Superstars by the way) and although your socks stick to the insoles, they have pretty good impact support and they are comfortable once you walk and your socks adjust.

haha so crazy. i said the same thing about the insole. i have already conveyed that to my rep and all that jam. i don't know what that issue has not been resolved. that being said.... dan loved those shoes and thought they were the best shoes he's had in a long time.

also the stuff under the canvas on vans shoes is called "dura-cap" and its rubber. so in many cases that makes a canvas shoe not only more durable but also fancy for those vegan types. the chima, however, has leather highlights. the authentic pro canvas are all vegan and have dura cap! woooo i love those. i actually loved my Chima as well. i had the ones with cork highlights instead of leather.

I agree so much john, I skate the adidas suciu or whatever it's called, the insole is giant and made of rubber and I got them a few months ago and have only wore them a few times just because the rubber pulls my sock under my foot and it's really uncomfortable. I'm so glad you made this video

Yaaaaasssss i literally just got a pair of chima ferguson pros. Theys pretty nice, but ill prob have to get used to it since my prev shoe is nike zoom sb which is all suede and a lot softer everywhere compared to the chimas.

there not the superstars their the matchcourts there very similar but the matchcourts were made specifically for skating

John if you see this put one of the vans pro insole inside the superstars it's so much better fitting and the stuff vans used is called there pro shoes and they use rubber underneath the suede so it last a lot longer.

I had the exact same problem with my Adidas Rodrigo TX's. Putting them on was the worst feeling in the world. They would pull your socks ridiculously tight around your toes.

I think my least favorite pair of skate shoes, I’ve ever had, were probably some Fallen shoes I had as a teenager! the shoes were comfy, but the bottom was so flimsy that in my third day of skating transition, the sole fully ripped off, and I had to get new shoes! In my opinion, for the strength of the sole, I typically would go vans, Osiris or DC? Adidas typically has pretty strong soles on their skate shoes, too, tbh 🤔?
But that’s super subjective, based on ten year old Memories of shoes I’ve had, skating 🙃? Make your own judgment 😜!

Vans Have duracaps so even if you break through the canvas theres is a rubber cap thing that makes it las just as long as a toe cap shoe

My mom is a podiatrist who works on feet and does custom insoles by scanning your foot to make a mold so that the insole helps your feet and there are different types most of which have leather and not rubber

I love those shoes lol, the insole actually feels great to me (though I am not as good as you but hey it's personal preference and style ig) but my MAIN complaint is that the grippy insoles just rip through your socks whenever you take impact on your heels and your foot sort of slides around but your sock stays in place.

I've had those exact same shoes and that sock issue is annoying but they were some of the longest lasting shoes I've used and I actually love the insole, so much so I use them in other shoes now too! I also had a pair of the Rodrigo tx adidas, pretty much the same shoe. These along with the etnies maranas I have now are in my opinion the most durable, bang for your buck skate shoe available. I want to try the new marana Michelin etnies as they say they are even more durable
Sara's friends apartment looks like the place Malto fiftied the rail in his pjs in pretty sweet
you just have to pull your socks a little more tight to your feet. I have those shoes too and hated them in the beginning but if you pull your socks up as much as you can the creases wont be there.
That apartment looks like the same style as Malto's when he did that 50-50 in Pretty Sweet.

The shoes are Superstar ADV, i personally love these shoes but not that specific color way, Ive had the black color way, with the white stripes. It was a suede shoe and I enjoyed them because I love the insole, the design (the skate shoe version of the basic superstars), and it lasted me about of year skating and it still doesn't have a big hole in it yet

the rubber insoles are there for not wearing socks while skating.... once the insoles get smelly you can wash them easily without any damage
The Marc Sucui's are by far my favorite shoe I've ever skated. And yeah the insoles do suck but I have Foot Print Insoles.

I had the EXACT issue with my last pair of adidas. The Suicu shoes had the stupid rubber pads and moved my socks off my feet when I put the shoes on. So stupid. The busenitz pro model has normal insoles. I have no idea why they ever thought rubber insoles was a good idea
You know they had to go through a testing phase and some stupid person actually liked his socks bunched up. Also didn't sean Malta nosegrind that handrail in the apartment in pretty sweet?
