Summary : Not a single con of NX 500 , it's the buyer's remorse or overexpectation . What I can understand owner thought it would be good for two up touring with luggage with fast acceleration like big bikes but NX500 said have mercy ( ab bacche ki jaan lega kya ) 😂😂😂
So basically to him it was a disappointment as it didn't do what it was he wanted. Guess that what everyone who sells a bike should feel. Like not a fit 👍
I have nx500 and this bike i can say all rounder motorcycle Zero heat at peak summer, top quality, refined and reliable engine, great comfort ride, suspension and breaks are superb which gives you confidence at high speeds, good pillion comfort, and power whenever you wants. Bike can touch 170 and 160 with pillion. I think reviewer has street triple and comparing with it he feels nx500 has less power. And no point of comparing twin cylinder with single cylinder bikes..nx500 can run 150 all day long and same for next day compare to any single cylinder Definitely single cylinder bikes can also touch 150 but difference is how smoothly and effortlessly. It is certainly more powerful than himalayan 450 & adventure 390, dominor 400 but since it is more agile & nimble to ride in city traffic unlike himalayan 450, dominor 400 though all weighs almost the same but the Honda feels light & which makes it different. Since it is a CBU unit so the price is bit on a higher side. Also honda charges significantly high for their premium bikes. It's the japanese engineering & premium ride quality & feel, very good heat management, very good weight distribution, good mileage which makes it worth every penny. Certainly those are my opinions!🙏

The Honda 500 NX sounds perfect for me from the way you described it, which corresponds with all the other reviews I have watched. I will continue with my VStrom until the Honda 500 NX becomes available in Australia which will be about September this year best guess. This is not necessarily a discussion on Horse Power alone. For instance, the Versys 650 has more hp but the Duke 390 is more fun. All bikes (despite the size of their engines) will lean either towards the "Fun" side or towards the "Boring" side. The NX500 unfortunately leans towards the boring side. Most of the comparison is with this street triple, it’s known that we can’t expect the same from a adv kind of motorcycle which has more weight and long suspension, triple s the lightest weighing bike. I have an interceptor and a kawasaki Z900, so now hunting for a adv kind of motorcycle. If we want to have fun like the street bikes, then ktm adv 390 can meet the expectation but still can’t find the pull like an inline 3 or inline 4. So if we want a relaxed ride and comfortable seat and road clearance , we can switch to an adv kind of bike. For sure, it’s in our mind which has blend with the power of inline 3 and inline 4. As an owner of CB300R 2019 model and Transalp 750 2024 model, i would like to mention this, NX500 feels like transalp + cb300r , seating ergonomic is nice like transalp, but power, sportiness, gearing, weight etc like a cb300r
Good review, now wait time for NX500 is 6 months which in my opinion is ridiculous. Folks who booked the bike 4 months back now have to wait another 4 months. Apparently the bike will now be sent directly from Japan as per my discussion with the folks at the showroom. What other options are available at the same price point?
I inquired last week and they told me it will be delivered within 10-15 days but we give 30 days window just in case if there is any delay in transportation. But i didn’t find any demo/test ride motorcycle in Gujarat. 🥲
Yes, i got the same information from my dealer that the wait time will be 6 months! But are you sure it will be sent from Japan? Which showroom gave you this information?

Great conversation, thanks for sharing. I see people in comments unable to appreciate it as much, but I do get Mr. Vivek's point of view Been in the same boat more than once and it's true, don't go head over heart. Don't assume that you will start liking a machine, you can learn to live with it, maybe even praise a few things about it, but liking, that's the difficult part. If the machine does not make you feel something, try something else, there's no deadline to get into this 'alliance' (marriage!) haha It's also about the journey to discover what you really like as tastes also change with time. Thanks for your comment Rajesh. We understand that this podcast may lack clarity for some and we will try to do better next time. But in essence, we feel that the NX500 is a boring bike for 47 bhp. Which is why we feel that lazy/chill riders will like it. But sporty, aggressive ones (think of those who ride the duke 390/speed 400) will not like it. If you have any further questions, feel free to DM Vivek on his insta which is in the description.

Thanks for the comment Jayant. Let us clarify. The KTM Adv 390 is not worth the 7.5 lakh price tag of the NX 500. Furthermore, for 7.5 Lakhs we wouldn't recommend the Duke 390 either. This was a comment made in context to the NX500. Not in isolation. Secondly, you would be surprised to know that the KTM 390 adv is not as special as the Duke 390. No one is denying that buddy. If you are going to compare this point for point, please tell us when Vivek has said that the Duke 390 is not jerky in the low revs? You cannot take a stray comment from this video, compare it to a stray comment in the previous video, make your assumptions and then say "these guys are talking rubbish". Both these comments have a completely different contexts. That context being 7.5 Lakhs which is the purchase price of the NX500. Having owned KTM 390 Adventure and currently owning Honda Highness 350, I test rode the NX500. To be honest, the bike had a irritating buzz on the handlebar starting from 3k rpm and power delivery is very linear..contrary to media reviews, I felt the bike had vibrations..i could not connect with the bike with brain and as well as my heart..hence, I have parked this decision..phewww!!!

Vivek was trying to avoid spending 13-16 lakhs on a new ADV. He meant that comparatively, 7.5 is not expensive. But we understand that this has not come across clearly enough. There was someone else who posted a similar comment
What's wrong with that statement? Depending on his disposable income, a product may be classified as expensive or not. Expensive or Affordable isn't a universal metric.

I was in the same place. I owned street triple and took the test ride of the nx500 and I felt it was so under powered. Nothing wrong with the bike but sooo underwhelming and under powered.
Just curious. how the comparison comes first of all? comparing the perf of triple cylinder close to 120bhp to a 470cc twin with 47bhp. Definitely will be very under powered. For the real comparison in perf, better to compare with bigger ADVs of minimum 90bhp. right?
Of course. You are 100% right. We don't know how people are assuming that we're making a direct comparison. Please understand that we're letting people know that whether the bike is boring or not is relative.
This is hitting bang on its head. I have 100% same observation after I test rode it. In one word you can call NX500 as 'Boring', period. Honda has placed it in a void price bracket,. It only solves the exclusivity problem; a condition of mental disorder echoing -"Hey I have something which no one else has". The bike is not substantial enough for a sub 7lakhs rupees and felt like 'just another bike' which I was unable to connect with. Its like the bike was wearing a blanket and I don't know whats happening inside the blanket. The ride comfort is 100% Himalayan 411. But I disagree with the Pillion comfort, my wife complained about it during the test ride although she is a very fit seasoned pillion rider with thousands Ks done on Himalayan. Plus the test ride bike had plenty of vibrations. The front is so light that I was fearing a wheelie with a pillion, no idea how it will do with a top case and panniers. For that matter Honda does not have any bike in its stable to fall in love with, they are all mind over heart. The bikes are durable, but very boring to fall in love with in their respective category, talk about AT, Transalp or the CBs.
Felt like Vivek was speaking all the points that i had with my NX. And sounded like most of the points like lazy biker and arrange marriage were taken straight from my review video. Happy that now most people are acknowledging what i said long back, for which i got bashing earlier. Nice podcast BTW. So next is Vstorm 800..😅
Never heard such a complexed confused state of mind of a person. Just impulsive purchases and equally impulsive sell-off. To be honest, waste of half hour listening to the guy. Thumbs down. Sorry but that's the way it all sounds. He needs to learn a lesson not the audience.
Thanks for your comment and for the dislike Tarun. We understand that we cannot please everyone. But we're open to everyone's views. Hence "Open Adventures". Now that we've gotten over your harsh comment, allow us to respond. Was the message not clear enough? We've spent 30 minutes trying to tell you that "just because a bike is GOOD, it doesn't automatically mean that it is FOR YOU". What part of this message seems confusing to you? The purchase was impulsive as mentioned in the video. But the sell off wasn't!
@@OpenAdventures Since you have taken out the time to write back to me, I am assuming that my comment bothered you in more than one way. So, Thank you for the response. I did not comment impulsively, I can tell you that much at least. From his profile, I learnt that he has the experience of riding a 200 cc and a Street triple, a person who is very well aware of the range of speeds and most importantly the acceleration of a particular motorcycle (the reason he was selling). Also, a person who was aware of reliability issues from his experience of RE and someone who knew about plastickyness of 390ADV. No motorcycle is perfect, the acceleration is a matter of expectation and it's alright that later this one point didn't work out for him. But I lost him at the comment where he says "the motorcycle was too practical for him". What bothers me are the reasons why people sell their machines. People go ga ga over their purchases but when they are selling, just about everything is wrong .. or in this case surprisingly, the gentleman found "acceleration" not ok. So, like i said, (1) there was a commitment issue despite a great feedback of the bike and (2) "a decision from head and test ride" also didn't make him buy the right bike. So is this the right NX500 review? In my humble opinion, absolutely not. According to me if there is any one single con you can really nitpick in the bike, it is the wrong pricing of this model (even if for logical reason by Honda). But then that is subjective. P.s. I did not dislike the video, or did I? My comment was harsh. Sorry about that.
No worries buddy. All views are welcome here. Even negative ones. We have no inclination or interest to bicker on things like these. You didn't like the review. That's your prerogative. All the best. Cheers

21:26 i got 5600 service bill just day before yesterday for my rtr 200😂
That's unbelievable. 🫢
Bmw 310 gs cost 7500 regular service & every 20000kms service costs 14000 😈
Thanks for the comment. We're just curious. Which bike do you ride?
@@OpenAdventures I have a BS6 Himalayan 411 and an Interceptor. Graduated from a CBR650F, thus the Honda experience :D .
Aaahhh ok. Safe rides!
Nx is a vanilla, not so exciting bike but nothing much to complain😅
True that
Felt like Vivek was speaking all the points that i had with my NX. And sounded like most of the points like lazy biker and arrange marriage were taken straight from my review video. Happy that now most people are acknowledging what i said long back, for which i got bashing earlier. Nice podcast BTW. So next is Vstorm 800..😅
Why did you get a bashing for speaking the truth?
@@OpenAdventures Honda Fan boys..
Nx is not for a guy like vivek 😂
Clearly
Dude dont talk speeds .its a crime u r admitting those speeds
Ok ok. Suusshhhhhh
It's not Expensive!!!! Right !!!!!!🥲
Vivek meant that in comparison to other big ADVs on the market 🙃
Uh ha... ok. Uh ha.. hmm hm..
Never heard such a complexed confused state of mind of a person. Just impulsive purchases and equally impulsive sell-off. To be honest, waste of half hour listening to the guy. Thumbs down. Sorry but that's the way it all sounds. He needs to learn a lesson not the audience.
Ouch!
Cheers
