I clearly had a bit of brain fog in the heat when I said no direct rivals in India. The recently launched V-Storm 800 DE is this bike’s closest rival and we’ll have a review of it out on the 24th of May.
But I dont get the point of this Honda... it has 21 inch front wheels but other aspects of the bike isnt for off roading. So if its mainly for touring on road, why the 21s? 19 and 18 or even 18 and 17 would have made more sense. Same applies to the huge ground clearance and high seat. They would have made sense if it was a true offroader which it isnt. On top of that, if we add the feature misses (quick shifter, tubeless tires, etc) and quirks of the bike (un-ergonomic switch gear, expensive add-ons) and then the price... this bike makes no sense whatsoever.
It's good to see Honda has somewhat started to give bikes for review. I feel the bike is well priced but the spoked tube wheels are a deal breaker (same goes for the vstrom 800 DE) and Those accessories are just too expensive mainly the centre stand🥲
Basically the summary laysout the Honda story in India. They overestimate the premiumn(m)ess of their brand and prices it out of contention. Look at NX500 or CB 600 twins.
Why do you say this bike does not have any direct rivals in India? What about the Suzuki V-Strom 800 DE? Even, internationally these 2 bikes are pitted against each other. I think you should do a comparo here. Both of them are comparable in terms of form and function and even priced close to each other.
look at the monthly sales in bigger cc capacity ..hardly1000 sales in any companies why would they reduce price in this 1.4 bill country ..these r lifestyle mcs in this cheap economic market no one wants to take risks
is it expensive there in India? i pass on it because of the air box having to remove so much fairings and the tank to change the air filter. just bought 450mt instead. xl750 around 11k usd where i am.
Honda Bigwing Kochi gave it to me for a day for TD. I was planning to switch to this from my T 800... As I am getting in age and Tiger 800 is very top heavy... The bike is a gem compared to T 800 on maneuverability. Doesn't have the low down torque which means a lot to me as my wife joins me for almost all rides, so I find constantly shifting between 3rd and 4th gear in inner roads.... The deal breaker was the tubed tyre and the pillion comfort...within 2 hours of ride my wife started getting back pain because of the constant jerk... In the Tiger we had done 12 hr rides without an issue.... This bike is great for solo riders though
I remember the old Tiger 800 models had it similarly on the windshields, there were a few in our group. No cops complained about it. It was in Karnataka.
I was once caught by a cop for that. He said its not legal to have it on the windshield. Somehow i escaped after a few minutes talk with the cop that i would fix it later.
Technically, they are not legal but 99% of traffic police won't issue you a challan for that unless you are in city like Chandigarh where traffic law enforcement is very strict.
This is a good package. Only thing holding back is at 11 lac ex showroom, this has tube tyre. At that price tubeless spoke is must . It's competition has tubeless spoke wheels. With all accessories, the price comes very close to BMW 850 GSA and all those accessories come as standard .
I bought this bike in UK. I am riding this since last month. Awesome bike is all I got to say. I rode almost all bikes in middle weight category and Yamaha Tenere 700 was my other immediate option. Tenere is definitely a better off road bike but it is a bit top heavy. Trandalp is a clear winner when it comes to on road. Go for it if you want a middle weight adventure. It wont disappoint you ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
This bike is the lightest and powerful when it comes to power to weight ratio easiest way to find that is the front wheel pops easily on 1 st and second gear which makes it more fun and on highway it is very confidence inspiring compared to tiger 900 & suzuki 800de ,it has got character and feels more like a ducati ,only sad part is it does not have tubeless tyres and the accessories are expensive but its a very peppy bike and blends easily
I always thought Adventure Bikes were not meant to be comfortable, supposed to have rear set foot pegs and low handle bars...??? Come on man, are you talking to a Scooter audience here...?
That's not a high seat height in the segment ? BMW GS , Africa twin , Vstrom, Triumph Tiger all have a lower seat height . The only exception among the popular segment is the KTM Adventure .
They should make an scrambler out of it that will be good. But they shouldn't make it into that 500 , it doesn't look that much good and exhaust beside your seat is anything but good looking or fesable in our conditions it should be where they usually stay.
In almost all the review i have seen/read, no heating issue is mentioned. Infact heat management of the bike is praised. How is the heat wrt duke200 1st gen. That is my benchmark😊
u should not bark 1.4 billion people hardly any sales in superbikes ... only kawasaki z900 sold the most in 2023 957.. otherwise every superbike companies sell hardly 100 in a year ..middleclass ho middleclass soch ..
10 lakh for a highway tourer... In which world is it vfm? I mean I can get a much more powerful car with an aircon and still tour without thinking of a rain coat!

i also read the same way 🙂

Its essentially true....

I follow Autocar India mainly because of Rishaad. He delivers perfect review for any automobile

You can always buy an aftermarket accessories. Hepco and beker are also costly but really good

Honda cars included.
CBR600 is 10 lakh but it's justified bcos it's a Honda inline 4
You are so good in reveiwing any God damn bike..so comprehensively.kudos👌👍👍👍

I agree. The V in the V-Strom doesn't make a lot of sense. I think it too has a tube tyre set-up.
Honda should launch Hornet 750 in india. That can create a buzz.
Would be overpriced

Wont create buzz with 15 L exshowroom😂

bang on: its true selling point overseas is its value, which is not the case here, even for the starters.

Weird question -
Are painted number plates on the windshield legal ?
If it is.. what are the cons

Please do a side by side comparison video between this and NX500
8:14 It is a law in certain countries that ABS needs to turn back on when we restart the ignition, not the company fault.
At what speed it starts heavy vibrations? Is it comfortable for long rides and compared to Benelli trk 502x is it better?
Please do a review video for Honda NX500 guys 🥺
Detailed yet very crisp review👍🏻
if only it had the headlights from the africa twin
Tube tyres, no cruise control, no quick shift..... waste of time.

Could this be a rival to Tiger Sport 660??
looks like old karizma
Where’s the NX500 review Rishabh? I guess that would have a lot more people interested.
More of a bigger NX500 tbh...not very exciting.
Good Video thank you. I really think its really comfortsble and a lovley Engine. But also sad that I had Most Same Fun on a Himalayan 450
I always thought Adventure Bikes were not meant to be comfortable, supposed to have rear set foot pegs and low handle bars...???

The Tenere 700 would thrash this bike, but we don't get it in India so...

Suzuki v Strom 800 DE review please
Well explained video ❤
Nobody asks for this machine..Honda is in their own fantasy world..We Indians are eagerly waiting for the CRF series of Honda bikes...
Not a scaled down Africa twin, but a scaled up honda shine. 😮
Honda has to work with their design

We need the 650r back.

Will honda bring back their CB650R and CBR650R in India???😢😢😢😢😢😢
Most chapris will buy z900 or normal people will buy versys 650
Please please do the review of new NX500.
21k for center stand?? Wow
The 800DE is a better motorcycle and kills the TAlp off road.

nx500 review ??
Only issue is no torq till 3000 rpm. Can be challenging in hilly train n city ride . Suzuki 800 is better
Rishad hasant given a Africa twin review , just saying
50k for an engine guard?!
does it have tubeless tyres?
Honda please launch 8G, 9G, 10G same 125cc engine with hybrid 3.2Kw battery 😂😂😂 aare yaar
The condition of the chain looks dry and rusty
Honda are the best in Quality but not in pricing their vehicles. Triumph kTM Suzuki are not bad and are value for money.
Rather buy ducati scrambler/ Icon
Nice
250 to 350 cc Mai aisi motorcycle de do .
I will not watch another video on this bike unless they drop the price by 2 lacs
Are bigwing bikes have ugly headlights on purpose 🙄🙄🙄

Tube tyres in India is a joke 😂
too much angular design i dont like, it looks so basic.
Hopeless Honda ! Leave India, you just are here because of brand value, nothing else.
