Randy Boissonault is one of the most disrespectful politicians I have ever witnessed. It's one of the main reasons I refuse to vote for Liberals.

This guy is out to lunch. The feds have worked with 8 of the 300+ municipalities in Alberta... he's not being truthful at all about the feds true reasoning or support for everyone. It's partisan. There is a reason why the provincial government exists..

IF money that is earmarked for Quebec was not received by Quebec it would be in the national news. So I question what this minister is saying. In fact Quebec was on of the first to receive one of the current housing programs. When the Liberal government gave out extra health care money a year ago did they negotiate with every hospital, no they negotiated with the provinces.
Uh, Alberta was one of the firster. Housing was one of the first things Trudeau increased, and it was in Alberta when oil prices collapsed (the first time, well, not the first time, but the first time Trudeau was in office).
And not only are housing investments not done with provinces, they aren't done with ANY level of government. The RCFI are investments that COMPANIES apply for. So in Calgary in 2018, the BEGINNING of when the federal government unveiled its 'national housing strategy', which was 30 billion over five years and has been increased many times since, Kanas Corporation is the company that built the affordable housing in Calgary with over 30 million from the federal government.
What conservatives and others SHOULD be criticizing is the fact that such programs let corporations get public money, but in fact the 'affordable' part of those housing plans only apply for ten years after completion.
So no, that money didn't go 'through' the province, although Notely no doubt wouldn't have cared either way because the province also invested.
Its VERY clear that the provinces want the money to STOP federal investment and turn the cities into even shittier places.
Here's a clue, when Polllievre says "we need to recriminalize drugs in BC" and as well as "we need to treat addiction". The second part of that is just a throwaway comment to make it seem like they actually give a shit about anything other than throwing people in jail.
@@mikearchibald744 First of you should get you facts straight. The money is provided by CMHC as low interest loans that ANY builder anywhere in the country can apply for. Various types of these kind of programs have been around for years. This program has nothing to do with provinces
What Trudeau has been doing is going directly to cities and signing deals related to housing with special conditions. This is clearly over stepping federal jurisdiction.
BC has decriminalized drugs. Now addicts are shooting up in hospitals putting staff and patients in peril. IS this the kind of society you want to live in?? Treatment is the only lasting option. Anything else is only delaying the inevitable. Decriminalization has not decreased over dose deaths.
@@theowoytowich9959 Wrong. The housing you are referring to is with cities that have housing authorities for low income housing. Most don't. The ones that do, did so because the provincial governments DOWNLOADED housing to them. That happened decades ago.
NOW the provinces are saying "well wait I know WE aren't paying for housing, but now the organizations that we forced to set up to do what we weren't doing are now standalone entities who are going to the feds for money".
So provinces download and refuse to provide money for what they download, and now bitch that for once the cities have a friendlier ear in Ottawa.
So thats that. For addiction EVERYBODY knows its about treatement, anybody who knows ANYTHING about the issue knows there isn't the treatment available. And once you GET treatment those people need to go somewhere, and if they are thrown back to the streets, you can bet what will happen.
Pollievre had a crazy video showing a bunch of peopel and claiming that all that needs to happen is treatment so that these people can all'go back to their families', in other words, free housing from the governments point of view.
Of course its ludicrous, you have not know anything about hte issue to think that thats going to resolve things.
Decriminalization was done becaue it is IMPOSSIBLE to actually arrest all those poeple with drugs. Decriminalization was not meant to STOP people using drugs, thats CRAZY to think that. Decriminalization is for the same reason as why booze was decriminalized. Booze is still FAR worse on society than drugs but we don't criminalize it.

The smaller communities in Alberta are at a disadvantage, because of Danielle Smith and the UCP.
The UCP have made well over $80 billion in very costly debacles and mistakes, and this includes losing Alberta hundreds of millions of dollars by forsaking collecting property taxes from the oil companies in Alberta. Municipalities in Alberta must charge increased municipal property taxes, as a result.
Rural municipalities in Alberta have problems accessing proper healthcare facilities.
The UCP wants to pursue open pit coal mining in the Rockies, which will cause major problems with selenium contamination in the water.
The UCP are pursuing an Alberta Provincial Police Force, which rural municipal leaders in Alberta oppose, because they say it will cost at least $1 billion.
The UCP are blowing $20 billion on the R-Star debacle.
Danielle Smith and the UCP are very dishonest, and even former Conservative politicians in Alberta have said this. They said they don't trust Danielle Smith and the UCP, because of the dishonest nature of Danielle Smith and the UCP.

A good example is the federal Liberal housing money that was given out recently to only 8 or 9 municipalities in Alberta. Alberta has over 300 municipalities, so why were the others left out????

Danielle Smith wouldn't allow by-elections to happen in vacant ridings, which lacked an MLA, but she chose to run in a riding where a UCP MLA, stepped down, without completing her term as an MLA, just so Danielle Smith could run there. This happened in the riding of Brooks Medicine Hat, where a UCP MLA, Michaela Frey was, and this MLA stepped down, without completing her term as an MLA, just so Danielle Smith could run there.
Danielle Smith gave Michaela Frey a well paying, pointless position in return.
Alberta has the lowest amount of Legislature sittings of any provincial or territorial government in Canada. Danielle Smith lowered the number of Legislature sittings in Alberta even more.
In 2023, Alberta had only 5 weeks of Legislature sittings.
The UCP passes controversial legislation, before a long weekend, or before weekends in Alberta, thinking Albertans wouldn't notice.
Danielle Smith and the UCP created Bill 8, which increased the gift limit amounts MLAs can receive in Alberta, which opens the door for MLAs to accept bribes. Bill 8 also prevents the Alberta Ethics Commissioner from investigating MLAs who are doing unethical activities, before a provincial election in Alberta, which makes it so that the MLAs can run the provincial elections.
So much for that.
Ya 20% of Canadians work for the government !Thats about 8 million making 30% more then people who do the tough jobs that pay all these over price wages.What happened to the idea of decency and equality among Canadians. Goverment has poisoned the system with greed and now the many who work the hardest and end up now without a quality of life they deserve. Government needs to be reduced and there income needs to drop at least 25%.The middle class are giving up over half there income in taxes and then the government invests it into rediculous projects like plant based vaccine companies and Billions in vw battery plants when hydrogen will be the future fuel along with Nuclear. the government has to get out of peoples pockets period! Too much government and too much tax. They are suppose to be working for us. This country needs a goverment purge and better policies so a common hard working canadian can live free and grow. Trees obsorb CO2 (carbon tax)trees produce oxygen from CO2,we breath oxygen made from C02.There's enough trees in Canada to obsorb CO2 ten times over. Growers feed CO2 into green houses and the government taxes that! As far as abandon wells ,part of the responciblity is the governments as they tax the guys making the mess and the oil and gas, they sell to us and take no responcibility for backing clean up.Then they tax us hst on top of the carbon tax.They never want to get there hands dirty. Instead of all these politians stealing ,corruption and scandles they should use all that money to help clean up the mess . 66% of CO2 is caused by the top 1% of the population from flying jets and 12 vehicles in there garage and all the other stuff that they buy with a fuel burning engine in it. A jet produces 100 tons of carbon to fly to Jamica and back from Ottawa.Nuclear waste hardly any space ,infact Switzerland has a very safe facility to store the worlds spent uranium and when technoligy gets better that will be a source of more energy till much of the waste is spent. Nuclear is very clean to the planet. I'm not as dense as you thought I was.
