One that kills hundreds of thousands of birds per year (many that are endanger species). That takes up large areas of farmland or wilderness? Maybe what we need is a pause to look into whether or not that is a good use of the land and resources. In some of the U.S. states (like Massachusetts and Virginia) they are cutting down forests to put up wind and solar farms. That is the height of stupidity that the so called green energy movement is responsible for. And while we are supposed to cut back on our emissions, China is building as many as 300 new coal fired power plants there and in other countries. @@pambp5978 Yes, they require maintenance, but not total replacement. Entire wind farms are dismantled and rebuilt and some abandoned in disrepair. Quote: "I thought they were cutting forests on the east coast to use as bio-fuels, wish you all could keep your stories straight". It isn't about getting the story straight, it is just the facts about what is being done. You do realize that it isn't one or the other, but they do both. They do in fact cut down forests for bio-fuel and cut down forests for wind and/or for solar. It was left wing film maker Michael Moore that exposed the bio-fuel debacle in his documentary. Quote from American Thinker: Since 2010, over 5,000 acres of natural and working lands have been destroyed for solar development in Massachusetts, resulting in the emission of over half a million metric tons of CO₂- more than the annual emissions of 100,000 passenger cars,’ Mass Audobon [sic] stated in a summary of its study with Harvard Forest. ‘Under current siting practices, thousands of acres of forests, farms, and other carbon-rich landscapes are being converted to host large-scale solar,’ the report stated. End of quote. You can find other sites saying similar things if you search for it. Scotland and Germany have also cut down forests for wind or solar farms. Just do a search. Lots of info on that. Then there is this from the Virginial Government: A recent study found that forest and agricultural lands are the most likely land types to be impacted by solar facilities being built. The authors also found that over half of the acreage disturbed in Virginia for solar panels to date was previously forested lands. Dec 6, 2022 As for oil and gas taking up farmland. That is true, but once a well is dry, it is shut down and the farmland reclaimed. With wind and solar they would be permanent unless decommissioned. Oil and gas wells also take up far less land than they used to. Rather than one well per site, they can now drill horizontally from a single location rather than having several separate well sites. I have seen well sites with 8 or 10 wells in the area that would have had only one or two before. You would also have to compare how much land would be needed for wind and/or solar compared with the same amount of land needed for the equivalent amount of energy from oil and gas. A single gas well will provide way more energy than a single wind turbine, while both would take up about the same amount of farmland. Not saying that wind and solar can't have their place, but they certainly can't be the only forms of electricity generation, for the obvious reasons.

Not cars that only need basic tap water and convert that H20 into an abundant, clean fuel source and could even be retrofitted onto existing cars to save the need for a bunch of new fleets of cars to be churned out every year.
Maybe Alberta needs to look at vehicle manufacturing as an option. The car manufacturers might like the idea of being able to sell more cars without the insane restrictions.
You do know that auto manufacturers have all given EV dates by well before the government. Why would they build anything in Alberta. The power they need is expensive, thank you Klein, the road from suppliers is longer and you wouldnt let them build EV. Why would anyone build anything in a province with such a lack of vision?

Don't fact check.. a leader who promotes o&g telling you to buy a vehicle that has an internal combustion engine while putting a moratorium on alternative energy development isn't concerning at all.
@@pambp5978 Is a wind farm that needs the turbines replaced every 20 years really a good alternative form of energy? One that kills hundreds of thousands of birds per year (many that are endanger species). That takes up large areas of farmland or wilderness?
Maybe what we need is a pause to look into whether or not that is a good use of the land and resources. In some of the U.S. states (like Massachusetts and Virginia) they are cutting down forests to put up wind and solar farms. That is the height of stupidity that the so called green energy movement is responsible for.
And while we are supposed to cut back on our emissions, China is building as many as 300 new coal fired power plants there and in other countries. Germany even shut down their nuclear power and went back to coal. Alberta isn't even a drop in the bucket on the world scale.
@@my3dviews upgraders and refineries require maintenance as well.. do you know how much agriculture land is used for the collection of o&g? We are not moving away from o&g anytime soon but sustainability of a natural resource is necessary. I thought they were cutting forests on the east coast to use as bio-fuels, wish you all could keep your stories straight... Alberta needs to diversify.
Quote from American Thinker:
Since 2010, over 5,000 acres of natural and working lands have been destroyed for solar development in Massachusetts, resulting in the emission of over half a million metric tons of CO₂- more than the annual emissions of 100,000 passenger cars,’ Mass Audobon [sic] stated in a summary of its study with Harvard Forest.
Then there is this from the Virginial Government:
A recent study found that forest and agricultural lands are the most likely land types to be impacted by solar facilities being built. The authors also found that over half of the acreage disturbed in Virginia for solar panels to date was previously forested lands. Dec 6, 2022
As for oil and gas taking up farmland.

Premier Smith has my vote.
This is typical of company policies these days. We are forced into buying things that we don't want because choice is being removed.
To be fair, nobody is choosing to live with climate change. Why should people be able to force climate change on others. Makes no sense.
When did government overreach start??
You aren't being forced into anything. You can fix your current car and keep it going for 25 years. It's not hard and it is often cost effective. You don't have to drive an EV if you don't want to.
@@jeelsvealnerve1163
Yeah. We can keep driving and fixing our old cars like Cubans do. 😂😂
There’s a way Danielle. Referendum on separation!
Car parts for gasoline vehicles are going to skyrocket.
We need to separate asap
Alsaskatoba
If you are unhappy in Canada you should move. Don't try to force the rest of the province/country to do something just because you are unhappy.
@@Cryptic_Triptych : Weimar republic. If you really want to leave Canada be my guest. Most Albertans do not want to go. Why do you feel you have the right to try to drag them along with you on a journey of economic catastrophe?
Most Albertans would love to have their own Country and be free from the Tyranical Federal Government policies. You mentioned Weimar Republic, that is exactly where this Country is headed. First they take away your ability to defend yourself and your property, then the use Hegelian Dialectic to conquer and divide.
You continue to contradic yourself. If you want to live under Tyranny and oppressive Government security, move to a Communist or Dictatorship run Country.
Read my "About" statement.
Don't worries by the 2026 Canada have a new Prime Minister 🙏 and all those nonsense will be thrown out
We can only hope.
If Poilievre doesn’t win the next election, Canada is finished.
Merci Mme Smith! Je vais penser a demenager en Alberta
I was at a Toyota dealership on Tuesday, the wait for a Rav4 Hybrid is average 4 years and the cost up almost 10k from when I looked at them 2 years ago.
I have never seen a charge station or an EV in Calgary.
Ya lots of em
I have seen the EV charging stations with no cars at them.
Plenty of EVs around. Cross Iron Mills has charge stations if you need to see some.
They are around. Just need to check for them.
They are both quite plentiful in Calgary.
AND Mr.Trudeau will do all the conversion to electric by beating the snot out of those of us who don't have the funds to buy electric and have to use gasoline . Help people with the transition and have your infrastructure ready for electric or hydrogen but don't raise the price of gas to the unaffordable level . Electric vehicles means massive power requirements to all and a substantial increase for the cost of electricity .
When ev’s are truly a better option, customers will buy them without being coerced and bribed with their own money.
True leadership she going to make Alberta great again
Love from Saskatchewan Danielle we love you here
Maybe after the next election, things will change. I too am all for EV’s but it’s going to take some time. Plus, they’re not for everyone. I love my Tesla for around town, but if I need to travel far, I NEED a vehicle that has the range and the infrastructure to support it. The feds love feeding the pipe dreams to the urbanites and making everyone else pay for it.
Has it not already been established that Canada is already beyond net zero? I know I have read that the number of trees we have in Canada consume more C02 than we emit from all sources. Just askin'!!
If that repot is ever found I'd love to read that
we're a forested nation of 35 million, 3rd biggest national land mass...more trees than anyone but russia....ya, we'll solve Earth's climate change crisis while Earth's CO & CO2 emmisions continue to multiply exponentially due to India China Russia the USA and about 180 other countries who are ramping up carbon and coal not slowing down....Classic Liberal science denial in Canada😂🎉
Nice to ear straight answers from our government. At least someone with a head on her shoulders, thanks Danielle
too bad her head is as empty as the PMs. She is stunned and woefully incompetent.
They don't want us to own our own cars
There’s already a shortage of used vehicles in this country with an extra million people coming here every year
Anything they can do to make life more difficult and expensive they do it
Can we seperate from Canada already?
You poor whiny victim. Go live in Alabama if you feel so hurt.
Yes, we can. If we create a Republic called Alsaskatoba, we would be in a top 5 GDP Country.
@@Cryptic_Triptych Alsaskatoba isn't even in the top 7 within Canada.
@squatch545 Alberta by itself is top 40 GDP in the world. Not sure where you are getting your information from, but it is factually incorrect.
@@Cryptic_Triptych Top 40 baby!
Oh! Canada. Merry Christmas Danielle
Try replacing the battery and then tell me how you like EV’s.
Take it a step more rediculous - try to power just trucks with solar or wind. It takes 10 solar panels in intense sun - all day - to move a Tesla Semi 1mile. If you want enough panels to charge it in 1 hour to move 1 mile that takes 100 solar panels. A long haul truck drives 800 miles a day. You'd need 80,000 solar panels in intense sun in 4 groups of 20,000 each to recharge 1 truck to go 200 miles to the next station. There are 3 million long haul trucks in the USA alone - total panels required 80,000 x 3 million = 240 billion. 20 times that for all heavy long haul trucks world wide 5 trillion. Then all the shorter haul heavies 10 trillion. Current production 1 billion annually. So that would us take 10,000 years.10x solar production 1000 years, 100x current production 100 years - just for trucks.
One person downvoted this video. It was Guilbeaut.
Expect old Soviet style economics - pay for your car now, and receive it several years later. THANK YOU KOMMRAD TRUDEAU!
In Soviet Union you had to put down $100 and wait 10 years for a car. So this guy puts down his $100 deposit and the salesman says "See you in 10 years." The guy asks if he should come pick up his car in the morning or the afternoon. The salesman says," It's 10 years from now, what difference does it make?" The guy says, "Well, the plumber is coming in the morning."
No one has any money after LIberal/NDP taxes and the cost of living crisis. Just ridiculous
This would be such a great country if all the other premieres were more like her
Hands off my CPP, I don't trust her
First principle of democracy is : whatever the government says is ur duty to follow. Never question only obey the dictates of our leaders . Merry Christmas, all.
She is the only politician in Canada that makes sence
We need her in Federal politics
in the first 30 seconds she basically said she agrees with the trudeau liberals on everything.
HELL NO!!!!
@@TheInsaneupsdriverhell yes. ❤

Justy's dream comes true - he'll be just like Dad (Fidel) was in the late 1950's
Love this woman, go out there, go straight and tell the truth.
Just like PP, this woman is honest and knows what she is talking about, but in a less diplomatic manner. In PP you still see tactics, in this woman, all you see is a competent leader who is blunt and goes straight to her point.
who mandates that you can only have ONE mode of transportation...from time in memorium energy, transportation and man's creativity has evolved and will continue to evolve. You cannot be serious that only one way will suffice and electricity is not the bee-all end-all....
Tyrants, dictators. Not free to choose.
I agree with our Premier 100%!
My observation is, that not to many people remember from school that carbon dioxide in the air is beneficial and absolut necessity to sustain life on Earth.
Wait, so you are bragging about remembering one day of Grade VII science in which you learned that plants use CO2?
It's December 22nd. The Min temp last night where I am was +7. Today it got up to +10. You understand that that is not normal for this climate region, right?
A spotlight article on the cost of repairing or replacing parts on electric cars need to be highlighted. I saw a story where the battery replacement for an electric vehicle was more than the cost of the original purchase, ringing in at $60,000 just to replace the battery. The government don't care about the carbon emission footprints, they care about the footprints only, and they want less and less traveling period...
Don't ever be forced to buy an electric car against your will. Everyone stood up and said "No we are not buying your electric cars". We have the power of refusal against dictatorship.
Well no one will force you to buy one, , as hybrids and used ICEs are exempt.
Not to mention the prices are going to skyrocket double or tripple what they are now, simple law of economics, reduce supply, while demand is still high and prices increase.
Can’t even digest what gas prices will be. We’re f ed either way.
I know right, there already unafordable.@@belle190
Prices on used are crazy now, I'm seeing 2010 ford F150's that don't even run for 4-5 k ,and anything decent that runs and is safety inspected even from the late 90's is 10K up. I got a running 2010 truck in June for 6K did the work it needed for safety myself. I put a realistic value of 10k on it when done and could probably get more than that for it now if I wanted out before next June when it needs another inspection if I sold it.
power station costs are just as expensive as fuel, but with the bonus of indefinite wait time. And by the time the vehicle purchase nears the point of where it might be paid off, is already outdated and trash as the battery cost is impossible to cover. fields of these cars are just abandoned and left to rot. EV's are the biggest scam.
This is false EV charging is less expensive per KM both at home and at charge stations. Speaking of, In Alberta home ownership rates are above 70% and home EV chargers are so convenient people will wonder why they ever visited annoying gas stations in the first place. There's nothing like waking up to a fully charged car with over 400km range that you spent 0 minutes waiting to charge.
I hope she never leaves us but I also want her to be prime minister. She is what logical and compassionate, competent thought looks like.
President of Alsaskatoba.
Keep working for Oil and Gas Danielle.
It’s nice to see a Manchurian Candidate who knows their place.
That'll never happen, or if it does, I can see the price of used ICE cars skyrocketing, as people will fight to keep them on the road forever.
It'll be like Cuba with the mismatch car parts.
@@lloydbond13 I was thinking the EXACT same thing. Which is fitting, given how Trudeau Sr. and Castro were buddies.
