Just got done doing a 2016 civic following your video and I saved them $400 make myself an easy $100 and everything went fantastic and works as it should. Thanks!
I wish I saw this comment 2 days ago. My second piston wouldn't rotate in and I tried everything over several hours trying to twist it back in enough to fit over the pads; since the driver's side had no issue retracting. Put the tools away 4 times before I found a video using the c-clamp to get it 2 millimeters back. Was cake after that
@@haloreach7 Did you also jump the EPB like in the video? The reason I ask, is because I didn't jump mine, and just turned the piston/compressed it like on my 9th gen Si with the car in neutral/no EPB engaged. It ended up ruining both calipers and actuators
Just did my 2018 EX. Good video. I used the little square caliper tool & simple compression tool. This video is worth the watch simply because of that pesky screw trick, worked great. However I was sent the wrong rotors so I had to lightly sand the dings I put in the rotor off & put it back together as is with the old pads. Didn't want to risk ruining my new pads on a less than perfect rotor. They're shipping the correct ones on Monday. Should've matched 'em up before I started, live & learn. Thanks for the tricks.
I did not see u put the shims on the caliper bracket, the metal strips that get put at both ends of caliper bracket where pads will be sliding on, those would would get fit before installling the pads, or those brakes dont have that? i dont recall seeing other brake jobs where u didnt put those shims, strange.
Great video. Swapped out my rear pads and rotors with ease. I’m trying to figure out why I would be getting three lines on my dash all of a sudden though. Electronic parking brake problem, brake system problem, brake hold system problem. I have verified that both rear parking brakes function normally. Brakes are buttery smooth, and appear to have no problems at all.
I just did all my pads and rotors on 2017 civic SI and I did not get any lights on the dash. But I didn't take apart the rear brakes like that to reset the piston. I just spun it manually with needle nose plyers.
After you're done don't forget to do the bed in procedure. For my specific setup i had to do 5 stops from 40 to 10 mph, and then 5 stops from 35 to 5 mph.
Where can I find information about how much torque to tighten the bolts in the vehicle for my 2019 Honda Civic fk7? It is not written in the user manual, I would be glad if you can help me
I've changed brakes as long as I have been driving, about 20 years I've never torqued them. Just tightened but not over tightened. Maybe experience idk but I have never had a problem.

Alright, I did one side on the rear last night and am doing the other side right now(it got too dark) but I had a question. After using the 9mm to pull the piston back…can it just be left like that and when I use the brakes it will adjust itself back?
